Yeah, I swore to never buy Deadpool figures because they do not fit with my collection. I have a 90s X-Men shelf with all of my favorite X-Men characters and Warlock.
Yes, at least a tip as useful and mentionable as your tips in the video: If you like collecting Deadpool-figures, don't neglect the stick at the end of Deadpool, otherwise you just will get Deadpoo.
You really put this down to a science I’m starting to feel overwhelmed with everything I’m collecting now I’m starting to finesse my collection and refine it more thank God there’s apps where you can sell things you’re willing till I go
When I was a kid I loved the show challenge of the Superfriends and I always wanted to see a marvel version of that, that’s why I started collecting marvel legends, weird I know
I've had my own set of rules when I started: Just Spider-Men. The different versions of Peter Parker, his clones, his proteges, etc. Basically any character that carries the mantle of Spider-Man. But lately I've been branching out to other characters like MCU Taskmaster and Atmospheric Iron Man. It's like adopting stray cats.
For me it started as only collecting MCU Avengers.....that quickly got out of hand. Now it's 90's X-Men, Spider-Man, every figure of each Avenger and just whatever I think looks cool. I'm in deep!
That's what I thought. I got two gray Beast. I do have a blue one. I got a new beginning. But wanted the second one. But not paying the price. If I open one, it'll be gray and it'll be an easy paint
I wish I saw a video like this back in 2010 (11 years ago) when I started collecting Transformers again. It would have saved me so much money and reduced the stress immensely. Then again, I might not have had the opportunity to learn from my mistakes first-hand. I decided this year that I'll only collect G1 Insecticons moving forward.
My goal was all of the various versions of Black Panther as well as completing both Black Panther Waves. Done with an Army Build Dora Milaje and Army Build Hatut Zeraze with the combat fatigue Eric Killmonger with mask. From there it morphed to collecting all of the Black Marvel Legends. Only Bishop and Nick Fury remain but the world isn't just Black and I don't want my children thinking that way. Soooo you can't have BP without Everett Ross, the Fantastic Four, She Hulk, Silver Surfer, Inhumans...well y'all get it. Lol. Great video.
@@Nerdzoic its a toss up between 4 of them. The Toybiz with the cape. The Walmart with the cape. The Shuri version that came with Klaw and the Purple Vibranium Mesh MCU version of BP. Learning a lot from you. Keep it going.
The main reason I collect is because of my dad. I remember as a kid we would walk to Walgreens and he would buy me a action figure almost every time we went. Had a huge collection of Batman, power rangers, and tmnt. I guess it reminds me of the good times with my father.
Step 6: As needed, have a conversation with your significant other to set expectations & get buy-in for the money that will be spent. I thought my wife would flip but to my surprise she supports my collecting & even loves how it looks & the joy it brings me
Thanks for the Tips Matt I’ve too have been following in these exact same steps for some time now. For me at the moment I’m trying to collect Marvel Legends (Spider-Man/ Spider-Verse) I don’t really plan on getting more figures apart from a couple of heroes who’ve teamed up with Spidey like Daredevil, Punisher, IronMan, Deadpool, Moon Knight etc. So far my Waves wishlist is -Ultimate Green Goblin BAF (Finished) -Absorbing Man BAF (Finished) -The Kingpin BAF -The Sandman BAF -The Rhino BAF -The Lizard BAF -The Vulture BAF (MCU Spidey) -Molten Man BAF -Demogoblin BAF -Venompool BAF (Pre-Ordered). The Main goal by the end of the year is to have all these waves completed as well as have as many unique Spider-Man figures to build up my Spider-Verse collection
Hey, I'm now beginning my Marvel Legends journey! I started action figure collecting back in 2018 with Power Rangers. As time went on, I branched off into TMNT, DC Multiverse, MOTU, etc. I always wanted to dive into Marvel Legends, but the price point of said figures turned me off. I started with X-Men vs. Street Fighter (Jada Toys) as a gateway to get into Marvel Legends as a whole and it's been one hell of a journey! Now I'm ready to tackle on Marvel Legends fully. I'm not trying to get EVERY figure (obliviously lol), but I've always been an X-Men/Avengers/Fantastic Four fan. I'm aiming to start with figures from those teams and see where the journey takes me! :)
I slowed waaaay down collecting over the last 12 years to raise kids. During the pandemic we were going through the oldest child's stuff he left at our house. We found all his Toybiz figs from the early 2000s. He didnt want them and told me to put them in my newly started mancave. So now I'm collecting again and filling in holes in my already large Spawn collection. I collect other lines, including starting on Marvel Legends, but I decided to focus on Spawn and complete as many series as possible. The early ones are easy to love, the more statue like ones, I don't like as much. I will probably get 1 ot 2 of those. Sorry to write a novel for your question. Love the videos, I'm learning so much from all of them!!!!
Great video for exactly what I'm going through right now in the heat of Marvel Legends collecting. I constantly update my wish list and acquired list in the notes section on my phone. I am only collecting MCU currently and only the figures that look exactly like the actors, i.e. incredible head sculpts, and as you know there are some fantastic ones. But I won't get one solely on that, I have to like the character too. I check everyday on eBay, Mercari, and Offerup, and since I don't mind loose figures, (half the fun is posing them) I've set a budget for myself between $10-1$15 per figure. If you're patient, this is very attainable. Also, these figures have great resale value. Don't feel too bad if you spent a little more than you wanted, you can probably make most of your money back re-selling if the time comes.
Been collecting Legends since the very first Toybiz wave. I increasingly apply two related rules: Only buy characters I love AND which are reproduced in a way that I love. I have quite a few figs that don't meet both, and I wish I hadn't bought them. One exception: once in a while something is SO cool to me in its own right, that it doesn't matter if I know/love the character. (Rare but it happens.)
As a guy who collects japanese imports, streamlining a specific show or title is also a good way to start your collection. Some may be a bit expensive on the run, but you can always grab one from secondary markets for better and affordable prices.
Im starting my collection pretty much from scratch with my Marvel Legends that i was able to recover over the years and my main big picture goal is get at least one of each figure/character, the specific character would be Venom, as for teams and etc definitely going to be villains first like the sinister six, all of Spidey's rouge gallery, The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and etc.
I do respect your opinion I do find that an easier way to start collecting is just wait until they release a figure that you want in better condition and a nicer scoped than the original just like how they re-released the retro body Spider-Man and then start collecting from there rather than going back and blowing all your money
I have a small display shelf piece and I have an x men avengers and Spider-Man figures in each segment I’m only 13 but I’m getting a large glass display cabinet for my birthday and my goal is to get that full for the end of the year I wanted to start collecting because I want it to be something I’m proud of
Good advice. When I first started collecting Marvel Legends, I bought Colossus, Morbius, and Winter Soldier. They're what I liked/found cheap, but then I had this hodgepodge group that didn't really belong together on display. Just now starting to recollect, yeah, I'd like X-Men, and the Midnight Sons, and Avengers, but I'm just focusing on X-Men first. Also, a rule of mine, I'm not paying more than retail for anything. I've had to change my mindset from "I want the entire Jim Lee's X-Men line yesterday!" too, like you mentioned, be patient and everything will eventually rerelease. I don't want to spend $70 for Pyslocke and $50 for Beast. I'll just wait, keep my eyes open and my fingers crossed and focus on the new releases and getting them at retail. It's paid off, the recent Jim Lee Storm retrocard was, what? $40? And I just got one for $17 thanks to the rerelease. Patience, padawn!
Never pay over retail for legends! You'll always find them eventually (or catch a rerelease as you said). Haha winter soldier was my first legend as well !
I started with just Spiderman. Then I added X-men and Avengers. Then I really liked the MCU figures. Now I just buy everything that I think looks cool. Then this lead to me collecting like 5 other lines. To me it's like a form of art. I enjoy setting up shelves then switching them out when I want a new look. This is not a hobby if you can't afford it cause it is very addicting.
I'm 37 and in the 90s i started collecting McFarlane toys. I quit after a some lifestyle changes. Then after McFarlane got the DC license I've started again. For themost party I've bought 90% of them minus the animated ones or the chase"gold variants" not to be mistaken for gold label because i got those. But what i learned with Todd in the 90s is he made allot of variants. I learned to just get the OG's maybe some variant colors that i thought were awesome. But having said this I'm just buying the one's I really enjoyand want to put one my shelves and display cases. I Will say though that I love this new DC multiverse line. But I will say though that not being an articulation snob and just appreciating a good sculpt can help with dust collectors they're not going to fiddle around with your figures a lot and just want something really awesome to put on their shelves with a great sculpt
My rule for marvel legends when I started used to be I just wanted mechanical characters, Completionist on Iron man armors, and his gallery of villains who often have armors of their own. However a lot of build a figures have been robots. All the way back to Mandroid, and Iron monger. I suppose my goal for my X men shelf is to have those 90s jim lee renditions, but more representing the classic video games, so I don't need a lot of the more obscure x men. Also with Modok and scientist supreme coming. I plan to have a proper A.I.M. display.
Part of the draw is archival curation of variants, and the other is just having the newest model because its there, and not wanting to let old models go. .
These are all great points and applies to LEGO as well. I personally only collect LEGO Star Wars Tatooine sets that have anything to do with Mos Eisley, Jabba the Hut, or Jawas (like the Sandcrawler). This is because aliens, bounty hunters, and droids are the most appealing to me and I love how there is a planet that serves as a Hub for these people. If I collected every LEGO Star Wars set I would not even have room for a bed to sleep on. Hoping the new Boba Fett show leads to more LEGO Tatooine sets with Aliens, droids, and Bounty Hunters. The photography is also valid for LEGO. LEGO is drastically cheaper if you buy loose. And there is amazing photography out there for LEGO. Great vid 10/10
As a new collector, I'm only buying Retro X-Men action figures (one of each kind) from the 90's. X-Men Gold X-Men Blue X-Force X-Factor Excalibur It will take a while to shop and find, but I'm taking my time and feel comfort knowing I have a limit, plan and control
Thank you for this valuable advice on collecting in general! I wish I knew better last year collecting ML, SW, PW, WWE, GIJOE etc. I really enjoy this video it was like toy collector therapy. Hope to see more videos like this in the future!
I started with the 1st wave of Toybiz Marvel Legends. I collected almost all of them and all BAFs. Once Hasbro took over the license I sold many of the Toybiz figures and replaced them with updated Hasbro versions. And since some Hasbro version were replaced with later Hasbro release. I now only own all the Toybiz BAFs and no more than 10 standard release characters. I now own 600+ Marvel legends. I have 95% of the characters in the costumes I want. I have about 20 figures currently on preorder which includes 4 Haslab Sentinels. Like the video suggests I have created a wishlist for the last 5% and will be stick closely to that and BAFs. As far as Hasbro is concerned 2021 will be my last major year for both Legends and Black Series and will focus on G.I. Joe Classified which i only need 50 characters at best some being army builders which so far im well ahead. High end figures such as Mezco Mafex and SH Figuarts will aldo be reduced in 2021 because I own most characters that I want at that price point.
I agree completely @nerdzoik this is the way I've been doing it. I originally refused to spend $20+ dollars on an action figure, then when 3.75 inch went to 12.99-15.99 (im looking at you starwars black series) I decided to start. (Plus was working for target and Walgreens in the past ) but now I'm at about 250 legends (many of which I paid less than $15 for with/without discount)
The Black Series for instance, I only buy the Original Trillogy characters now. They're the only ones I really care about so that saves me a ton of $ and space
Great set of rules, I’m collecting for myself, my teenager and my youngest lol so buying 3 of everything is horrible. But my teen likes the action figure and I’m sure my littlest will like them when he’s old enough.
Me too,! We started with neca figures of characters he knew, now I'm on ebay alone at 11 pm chipping at my paycheck, so I can finish off the xmen display, or the Spiderman rouges gallery.😂 sorry about the 2 yr old reply. I just recently found the channel.
I'm an open display collector with some exceptions, (ex TMNT Ghostbusters line, just kept them in the box but I have the Matty, Plasma Series and RGB opened in front the the Turtle box.) As it pertains to the Marvel Legends outside of say Deadpool, Doom or Thanos, I usually only get one 1 of each ML. Ill usually try and get them as a preorder or find them in the wild. Rarely buy off of eBay for ML, Star Wars Black Series on the other hand. The only ML I remember buying off of eBay and duplicate character was Cyclops. I had the X-Factor Retro that came out a few years ago, but I wanted a Pryde of the X-Men team and the blue hooded Cyclops was only in a 2 pk from TRU so I paid about 50 bucks for it but it did complete my Pryde Collection. There aren't too many old figures that I would get off of eBay because of price Stryfe comes to mind. Rereleases I would like to see is Bishop, Forge, Cable and Stryfe.
Cool tips. My personal rules and goals. As many applicable characters where I can put a live action actors head on a comic book style body for loose display in my detolf. Some of my favorites so far are Hemsworth head on 80th anniversary Thor and Jeremy Renner head on classic Hawkeye in purple figure. Funniest is Jamie Foxx Electro head on Retro comic Electro body. LOL
I just started collecting and I knew I was going to stick to the MCU characters and I thought I was doing it correctly. After watching this, I realized that I should have narrowed it down to what characters I should have first that falls within the budget. Now I am running low on budget and I don't have the figure that I really desired. Thanks to these tips, I will not be making that same mistake any time soon. Now I don't have to "argue" with myself whether to buy a figure or not. LOL
You've just taken your 1st steps into a bigger world! Main advice I would give is to pick a segment to start with. For example, for Legends I mainly focus on 90's xmen and spiderman retro cards. I have expanded into some MCU, but it would get crazy trying to but them all.
Whenever I collect, I think of the movie series that I currently like the most and stick with it. Then I think of the figures I want in the display and sum up however many I want for the display and ask myself if I really want the figure or feel it necessary. I am currently collecting Pirates of the Caribbean figures for a small display (specifically from neca that are 7 inches); and narrowed it down to 5 figures that I want and feel are necessary. I have bought every single one Execpt their Davy Jones which I am scouring the web for until I find it. That's how I collect with Neca Alien and predator as my bread and butter.
I learned this statement a while ago when I first started into collecting hot wheels. " buy what you like collect what you want" for me I just want a good repasentation of all them major characters in like. Which spans across DC, avengers, Xmen and mortal kombat
Only way I've kept from going crazy is by focusing on a certain genre of character (as you said), Marvel Cosmic related figures for me and narrowing it down even more, comic versions only.
I like getting the comic accurate versions of Legends as opposed to the movie versions. I've been pretty good with this rule(for the most part) and it helps me pick and choose which figures I want. Definitely sticking to ur rules will help u keep ur sanity (& some money) when collecting. Great vid!
Most of my "rules" in terms of collecting revolve around core characters/teams, and personal favorites. Actually in the process of selling off a lot of pieces I bought in the past I no longer want, as I didn't have the stricter guidelines that I do now.
for me, my goal is 90s x-men and spider-man spider-verse and Villa and that's it it was with avengers but taken them out off my shelf there confusing and hard to collect. also, I want the 90s blue and gold team off x-men because I was born in 1991 that's what I remember growing up in the late 90s and early 2000s for legends so I am glad I am collecting x-men and spider-verse and their villans I all ready almost finish fantastic 4 I need the classic green dr doom. I am missing some characters a lot of main characters like Psylocke cyclops gambit rouge colossus juggernaut night crawler iceman and 90s jean grey I regret not gett these characters I am missing because I had a chance when I saw them in stock now I regret it. now i have to buy them second-hand on eBay .plus i am collecting because i dreamed off owning these figures as a kid now there being released as i turn 30 come on .oh yea i have a wish list also the wish list is awsome tip . i do not know if they do cyclops in a year or two been a few years since i saw a new update. should i buy the retro card cyclops or filler list
The thing about the Baf stuff is. If ur looking for pieces individually, alot of people sell those parts for almost the price of a full figure and sometimes more. So you might as well just get the figure. You get more for ur money. You want a Leg to galactus for $25 or would it make more sense to spend retail $22 to get not only the leg to galactus but the mr. fantastic figure with lab coat that it comes with?? Also, this hobby can become Addictive. So while you may have a plan to only get certain figs...you may find yourself eventually having the erge to want to have more... and Hasbro WANTS you to have that erge and will tempt you!!
This is really helpful as I started collecting black series figures earlier this year and got quite overwhelmed and now I think I’ll just get stormtroopers and clone troopers thanks so much
My top priority right now is to assemble my favorite characters from the MCU Avengers. Once I'm content, I think I'm gonna shift focusing on my childhood nostalgia, the X-Men 90s animation. Fingers crossed. Thanks for your insights, Matt!
The key is to focus on what you want. Personally I stick to three rules. 1: comic figures only, so no MCU. That saves me a ton. 2: Spider-man characters. Especially the retro carded ones. and 3: Iron Man figures. Like the new Ursa Major wave. I hope that Hasbro one day makes Iron Man retro carded figures from the 90's cartoon line. That would rock!
I know how that is I been collecting marvel legends for over 20 years and and I don’t have all marvel legends figures but I do have a lot and I collected dc and Star Wars and I collected a lot of figures too
New subscriber here! Just catching up on your videos! Love the Marvel Legends. Thanks for the tips! These are things I need to be told... and probably retold. So, I'll watch this again in a week... and then the week after that... and so on...
I’m just trying to collect all Thor’s the one I really want most but can’t be bothered saving up for is the Thor ragnarok with the short hair and with the hulk head but it is really expensive because I live in Australia the only place I can find it is on eBay and it cost like $150 and I don’t wanna pay that much
I really agree with the collecting I made it a mission I find comfort in my collecting I have my vintage collection of star wars that would blow your mind
Hey big guy. This is sledgemaster. Ive been collecting for 33 years You did a great professional video. Hope u and ur family is ok. Good morning and god bless.
The one huge rule that I put on myself when collecting these is to only get characters that relate to multiverse shenanigans like the into the spiderverse wave of figures
I started collecting again a year ago and this was my plan: 1) Get figures of characters that I generally love. 2) Stick to comic versions and not MCU (most of the time). 3) (this one can also vary) Get figures that represent the early 2000's movies such as Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, and X-Men.
I collected Toybiz ML when I was in college, i pass by a store, & see a figure I just take out money from my pocket & buy it, but of course I eat cup noodles for dinner, ;)...Got first 5 series prior to Baf waves for $3-5 each figure..those were amazing years to collect.
What sucks the joy out is BAF figures! If you want them you are going to end up with a lot of duplicate figures. I have gone out to 3 Marvel Earth's and that's with almost never getting full waves and almost never getting the BAF. No matter what, some duplicating still occurs even with me. And sometimes there will be a BAF I just can't pass up. Crimson Dynamo was one such and I needed all the figures except Black Widow herself. So, I ended up getting that one. I'm not a fan of Symbiotes so I was able to pass on that whole wave.
In my case, I only collect deadpool figures from toybiz to hasbro. It saves me HUGE amount of money. I usually buy 1 or 2 deadpool figures a year. Depends on how hasbro wants to showcase that character in every wave. If I want to buy some character outside deadpool, I buy only those who “related” to deadpool in comics. In example: “Pulverine”.
To get the Walmart collector con Spider-Man retro card or the retro card Spider-Man from wave 1 2020 or finally get the retro card black suit Spider-Man
My kid loves Spider-man, both Peter and Miles, so the focus has gone there lately. We'd love a Rhino for the collection but we're hoping for a repaint like the Venom or Apocalypse we recently got.
This was a great video. Just found it today and I have already started doing everything in this video. Holy grail pieces for me are 80th Captain America and Apocalypse wave Psylocke.
I always collect a specific hero and their villains at a time, im currently focused on spiderman and once i have all of the characters from his world i’ll start collecting another hero with their partners and villains
I’ve been finding these used at the goodwill outlet just don’t know the lines that well so does anyone know a site I can find pictures of figures with a quick search to find out what accessories go with what
My goals...I make comics with Action Figures. So of course I need X-Men and Avengers and my absolute favorite, Spider-Verse!!! I've been collecting Transformers since 84 but only started these Marvel Figures in the last couple of years. Got a nice Collection so far. But just like comics, big name characters and Cinematic events like Wandavision are skyrocketing these toy prices....sheesh. But I like your video cause those are some of the things I did to start collecting.
Originally I started off just collecting any figures of Cyclops and a few other characters that I liked. Next it was just all versions of Beetle and then the Thunderbolts. Eventually it turned into the X-Men and finally The Avengers with a roster find in the style of the MCU.
I only collect Spiderman villains in their cómic versions and Batman figures also. If I stumble with any other figure in discount I buy it and I also can trade it for another figure more of my interest.
The characters that appeal to me the most are Iron-man, Spider-man, Ant-man, Scarlet Witch, MJ (MCU version), and Gwen Stacy. Sadly there isn’t too many MJ’s to collect other than the homecoming set that I own.
For me it's the Hulk family I am collecting do not care for company Toy Biz Hazbro does not matter to me then the Thor family and etc I short them by "Family" not actual family it is just what a call the hero and villain category for figure that are part of their respective comic series and after the main ones are collected if I have room then a few goons that is all not new edition for me unless the new editions are very good looking. PS the Goons are mandatory if you get MODOK then you must have at least 2 to 3 AIM solders to go with him.
Honestly, Right now is the perfect time to start collecting Marvel Legends. Hasbro is rapidly improving and releasing new updated versions of old figures. Sure there are gems from the past that may be pricey, but they aren't necessary. They may not do redos of Spider-man in 'X' suit again, but its cheaper to just buy duplicates of newer ones and either customize yourself or commision a customizer.
I'm doing something like this with my star wars black, I'm only getting main characters from new hope like , lea, Hawn, Obi won , chewy C3PO, R2, Vader, emperor. Then Empires return of the jedi the prequels and the new ones I'm getting like two three figures to represent each star wars movie.
when i started collection i only wanted a spider- verse but that quickly changed to collecting villains and costumes from the video game Spider-Man shattered dimensions
Right now, I want to collect figures from the movies and shows I love, I ordered and recently shipped from you, was the NECA Predator Ultimate Jungle Hunter.
Just trying to finish the teams that i grew up reading in the 80s and 90s. I also chose to get characters that i liked on the team just to save more. After that im done.
I'm a comic accurate figures and movie collector I love x-men And Avengers and Black series.... D**n I always wanted falcon and winter soldier characters...
This is the first time seeing any of your videos and this video has just changed a lot of things in my "philosophy" on collecting in the future! Now I am off to ebay to purge!
I started getting into collecting 2017 around then. I'm a movie figure guy. Was really into the Movie Mattel multiverse figures. Lost all my figures in a house fire. Went back out got the JL multiverse figures but was seeing those were going nowhere fast. Then one day I picked up iron man first ten years figure mark 7. Was amazed at how awesome it was. Starter watching legends vids and became a marvel legends Mcu only collector right at the end of 2019. Going on 2021 and I have every mcu character released not figures but characters except Okoye, Mantis and the Collector. My latest legends are the amazon exclusive Children of Thanos and now just waiting on more movie and tv show legends to be released lol. Love the channel Matt. Anyone know when we might get some images of the Disney plus legends? Not to hyped for Eternals lol but I'll need them for my collection lol
That’s awesome man! Except the fire, that’s awful. I hope no family or pets were hurt. And we might get some pics and announcements Friday, hasbro is doing a live stream!

My only rule is don’t be a completist. I only buy what I really want. Doesn’t matter what line. For legends comic only.
Completionistism destroyed collecting for me for a long time
When I was little I thought I could get every toy in the world. I was a fricking madlad...
Bad thing I want a lot of stuff like Major X-Men, Avengers, F4, Spidey characters
Completism is the death of fun. The limitations create the fun!
I've had my own set of rules when I started: Just Spider-Men. The different versions of Peter Parker, his clones, his proteges, etc. Basically any character that carries the mantle of Spider-Man. That’s me also. Started with 90s X-men and added Spider-Man , fantastic four carded action figures.
I don’t feel like dropping a fortune on a beast, so I bought the grey beast and customized it to make it like the 90’s beast
That's what I thought. I got two gray Beast. I do have a blue one. I got a new beginning. But wanted the second one. But not paying the price. If I open one, it'll be gray and it'll be an easy paint
@@miragexl007 yea, it only took me about 2 hours including time to dry between coats

I thought my wife would flip but to my surprise she supports my collecting & even loves how it looks & the joy it brings me
I told mine it makes me happy and if she don't like it theirs the front door.
So far my Waves wishlist is
-Ultimate Green Goblin BAF (Finished)
-Absorbing Man BAF (Finished)
-The Kingpin BAF
-The Sandman BAF
-The Rhino BAF
-The Lizard BAF
-The Vulture BAF (MCU Spidey)
-Molten Man BAF
-Demogoblin BAF
-Venompool BAF (Pre-Ordered).
The Main goal by the end of the year is to have all these waves completed as well as have as many unique Spider-Man figures to build up my Spider-Verse collection
You are absolutely SMASHING it with the Legends content lately! Some truly brilliant videos coming out - very much appreciated 👍🏼
Thanks man I appreciate that!
Hey Matt, I got a new idea for a video. The top 10 best and worst Marvel Legends Exclusives.
As a guy who collects japanese imports, streamlining a specific show or title is also a good way to start your collection. Some may be a bit expensive on the run, but you can always grab one from secondary markets for better and affordable prices.
I only collect very powerful supervillains like thanos , apocalypse , onslaught ,dark phoenix ,dormammu ,dr doom
Magneto, Mephisto, Galactus, Knull, Fin Fang Foom, Dark Phoenix and Molecule man.
I have a small display shelf piece and I have an x men avengers and Spider-Man figures in each segment I’m only 13 but I’m getting a large glass display cabinet for my birthday and my goal is to get that full for the end of the year I wanted to start collecting because I want it to be something I’m proud of
Nice! I started collecting at 16. Don’t let anyone give you crap over having a nerdy hobby!
Great video, definitely overwhelming as a new collector. Hate impulse buying and feeling like I need certain figures that I’m not crazy about
Hope this helped then!
Man....I was not collecting back then, but if FIN FAN FOOM ever comes out again I'm snatching that suckered up.....
I plan to have a proper A.I.M. display.
Completionism is scarrry
Part of the draw is archival curation of variants, and the other is just having the newest model because its there, and not wanting to let old models go.
.
I started like this with xmen but whenever they do a lesser known character like Omega red I just HAVE TO have it...
Collecting all lego star wars is insane! (Alien races are the best part of star wars for sure!)
As a new collector, I'm only buying Retro X-Men action figures (one of each kind) from the 90's.
X-Men Gold
X-Men Blue
X-Force
X-Factor
Excalibur
It will take a while to shop and find, but I'm taking my time and feel comfort knowing I have a limit, plan and control
Good call. I am at the point that I only buy "Force Users"
@Wayne Blackwell wow, you got a system👍
Great set of rules, I’m collecting for myself, my teenager and my youngest lol so buying 3 of everything is horrible. But my teen likes the action figure and I’m sure my littlest will like them when he’s old enough.
My son has really started something with this collecting. I find myself buying figures for myself now. Thanks for this video. I definitely needed it
That is awesome! Glad I could help.
Trying to commit to just x-men and spider-man, but im really looking forward to see what these mcu and and avengers lines may look like this year!!
I’m just starting my marvel legends collection. I truly appreciate this video, its very helpful bro! Keep up the great work.
Maybe one day.... :)
I know how that is I been collecting marvel legends for over 20 years and and I don’t have all marvel legends figures but I do have a lot and I collected dc and Star Wars and I collected a lot of figures too
Looking forward for a MCU Baron Zemo figure from Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
His outfit is soo badass
For someone wanting to start collecting Marvel Legends, what are the best stands to use, that are best bang for your buck?
New subscriber here! Just catching up on your videos! Love the Marvel Legends. Thanks for the tips! These are things I need to be told... and probably retold. So, I'll watch this again in a week... and then the week after that... and so on...
My wish list right now is containing on thing only: iron man mark 45. It is my favorite armor so I really hope Hasbro releases it
I’m just trying to collect all Thor’s the one I really want most but can’t be bothered saving up for is the Thor ragnarok with the short hair and with the hulk head but it is really expensive because I live in Australia the only place I can find it is on eBay and it cost like $150 and I don’t wanna pay that much
I really agree with the collecting I made it a mission I find comfort in my collecting I have my vintage collection of star wars that would blow your mind
I started collecting again a year ago and this was my plan:
1) Get figures of characters that I generally love.
2) Stick to comic versions and not MCU (most of the time).
3) (this one can also vary) Get figures that represent the early 2000's movies such as Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, and X-Men.
As a starting collector, I made a rule for myself to just focus more on comic version of the avengers and some spider-man figures
That's a great way to keep yourself from traveling down that dangerous rabbit hole.
It’s hard, because money just has not been able to re-spaw in my palm 😔
Im trying to finish my infinity war collection. I have completed BAF thanos figures. Way to go
I just really want good looking spiderman figures with good articulation. The problem is spiderman is so desired it's crazy.
To get the Walmart collector con Spider-Man retro card or the retro card Spider-Man from wave 1 2020 or finally get the retro card black suit Spider-Man
Good list. I love the 80th Thor. It's straight Kirby. My goal for the year is to complete the Manthing wave.
I’ve been finding these used at the goodwill outlet just don’t know the lines that well so does anyone know a site I can find pictures of figures with a quick search to find out what accessories go with what
Awesome video. I just started collecting and I only gonna do figures to build BAF’s and some MCU’s figures as well. 🤙
Someday a camera crew and I will film the opening of a Target executive's safe. Expecting Cobra Island figures...
Narrowed It down to villans in classic comic look started whit retro Dr Doom.
Very informative, Thanks a lot.. Wanted to know if had a list of must have Marvel novels/comics? Plan on collecting those as well soon
I only buy SW Imperials...mostly storm/clone troopers. Or only one from each new carded range for the packaging.
They may not do redos of Spider-man in 'X' suit again, but its cheaper to just buy duplicates of newer ones and either customize yourself or commision a customizer.
i do have a same mindset like yours in collecting figures... it helps me to save money.... thank you.. :)
Your welcome friend!
this is very informative video, for me I set my collection in figure collection just one line..
Love these video. Please make more.
My rule is I can only collect 3 of each character unless I come across a limited exclusive
when i started collection i only wanted a spider- verse but that quickly changed to collecting villains and costumes from the video game Spider-Man shattered dimensions
I'm a comic accurate figures and movie collector I love x-men
And Avengers and Black series....
D**n I always wanted falcon and winter soldier characters...
This is the first time seeing any of your videos and this video has just changed a lot of things in my "philosophy" on collecting in the future! Now I am off to ebay to purge!
Nice! Hope that means some new stuff coming in?
@@Nerdzoic Yes! Focusing on particular characters and selling off the impulse buys! Thank you again for your words of wisdom!
I only wanted to collect Bad guys, then maybe I would get the core Xmen, then I just wanted the core Avengers now I have a room full of shelves.
Villans= Bafs most of them.
Thank you! I am doing this for dc multiverse line.
I’m about to dip my toe in there actually
@@Nerdzoic I am getting the first action figures evernot just from the line in my birthday next saturday. You have helped me alot thanks :)
@@Nerdzoic Our dog got out fine thank goodness. That's great news about the live stream on Friday. Appreciate brother
