    Your father made a good point which I will always remember. If you don't see what you want at a yard sale, let the homeowner know what you are there for. They may not have that kinda stuff out for sale and may still want to sell it. That ring was a perfect example and he wouldn't have gotten it if he didn't ask. Great score. !! 😂

      I did exactly that at a yardsale and scored a box of comic books for ten bucks and sold them an hour later for much more.

      ​​​@@intox69 They can always go elsewhere, but matey needs to make money too and he probably doesn't sell it at full price himself. It's a pawn shop and ppl expect bargains.
      Also, what would you do? If someone came to you with something worth 3k and only wanted 1.5, you'd give them what? 2,800 and make 200?! 🤔 Obv it sounds fair to offer 2.5k but he's still getting more than he wanted and matey is taking the risk, stolen or reselling difficulties....
      2k doesn't sound bad to me when he asked for 1.5. Matey could have gave him the 1.5 and he would have been a happy customer, it's partly on the seller to do research and being offered another 500 is quite generous when don't have to.

    The way I see it is you earned 2 customers for life. Bro and Sis shopped around only to find out you were fair.
    And of course blessing the person an extra $400. accomplished the same thing.
    In all honesty it's probably even greater than that when they tell their friends, family, and coworkers how well they were treated.

    8:00-8:15 could be a scene for a movie. The way she strides to the counter overly confident, even asking you to, "be careful with that one" only for you to tell her you don't want any of the cards. That was amazing. 👏👏👏

      My dad was a dope like that. Back when gas was 29.9 cents a gallon , then went to 30.9 cents, and he'd drive 8 miles out of the way to Hancock gas station that was still at 29.9.
      Waste 30 mins and 1/ gallon to save a DIME !!.

    I think your philosophy on the deal with the guy with the gold bracelet is great. There’s nothing wrong with getting a great deal and given them a little more money especially helps with return customers.

      Half of the people in the comments just assume the customers are out for drug money. I think in a lot of cases they just might be down on their luck between jobs and just trying to get the power and water turned back on. I'm not naive, but sometimes it's ok to give people the benefit of the doubt.

      Gold can evaporate even boil but you have to go way past its melting temperature. Ideal evaporation temperature for gold is around 1,400°C. Gold's melting point is 1,064°C, and its boiling point is around 2,856°C.

      its not $200 worth of Gold, 24K was around $75 per gram but the ring was 14K which is only 58% pure Gold so about $30-$40 per gram...at best its $100-$125 of Gold...she doesn't have to sell it, she can find someone else to buy it for more, right??

      I do remember that. Those stores didn't last long, probably because between the ebay selling fees, then the fee that the store you brought it too, then the sales tax you paid you'd walk away with $20 on an item that sold for $100. I think most people realized they could bring it to their local pawn shop and get more for it than that.

      yeah I was confused about that. He offered 25 and she said make it 20 but then it ended up being 3.5 grams of gold making it worth a few hundred. Or was it not actually gold? I figured I misunderstood something because I dont expect him to show that in the video if thats what actually happened.

      @@uniform1313, would you buy them for $75 then turn around in 30 days and sell them for $75? That doesn’t sound like a good business move. There is not an LCS that I know of that will buy back at the same price they sold it to you for, especially with silver spot price dropping recently.

    The Brother & Sister duo were comical, even when they weren't trying to be. She might show up at your shop again with a Uhaul. The woman with the "POKEMAN cards" ( as she put it) did seem a bit put out on you passing on buying them. She seemed shocked when you showed her EBay prices. (I'm glad you do that). The guy looking for $1,500.00 and you gave him $1,900.00 just shows how honest you are... Good for you for keeping it honest and real... Love your videos.
