As far as the clutch case, if you want to pick that up, the best place I was able to find was the dealer. Amazon didn't seem to carry it at the time and all of the Ebay options were cosmetically damaged at the least. So my recommendation would be to go to your nearest Kawasaki dealer or go to www.bikebandit.com. Best of luck.

Been awhile i know you said you were doing something with rubix cubes. Video was good didnt mention the differences of the first and last friction plate and the 2 oval springs forget the name off the top of my head. Maybe its different for the z1000. And stiffer springs will get that clutch hand nice and strong lol. Look foward to more vids.
Hey! Sorry it took me forever to respond to your comment. I never got notified about it. Thanks for your compliment! The springs you are referring to are the judder springs right? I don't remember if that bike had one but you would want the smaller diameter side to face outward. The first plate in if I remember right was a friction plate and the last one in the stack must be offset. Fortunately, regarding the orientation of the clutch plates, I spoke to EBC about that and they said the orientation didn't matter. I appreciate your comment and I really apologize for taking so long to respond. Regarding the Rubiks cubes, I still have that going on. The youtube channel is ua-cam.com/users/dulema.
Great vid man! Question for ya, any mention on this bike having a Judder spring or a Judder plate? I know some guys like to put Gen 1 ZX10 judder plates in their bikes
Not sure actually. I filmed this video so long ago. I havent tinkered with this bike enought to know about swapping judder springs unfortunately. I'm glad this video was at least entertaining in the least.
Very entertaining, your content is real high quality man keep up the good work!!!
Replacing the clutch plates and hub spline on my 2017 Ninja 1000 ABS now, waiting on the hub spline but this was very helpful, I notice on the friction plates each have 3 tabs with notches and I know it's important to get the last one oriented in a specific notch. Any idea if it matters how the other friction plates are oriented?
Thanks for posting! I saw conflicting information online so I contacted EBC directly and they said that it didn't matter. Just that as long as the last plate is offset where required is all that is needed. Great question! I hope this helps and good luck with your project!
@@TheMotorcycleBoss Definitely helps because the service manual as far as I could tell doesn't really say. Unfortunately for me I found the hub spline had some serious notches so I ordered a new one. My friction plates were measuring around 2.61 well below the spec. I guess 30k in 2 years takes a toll. Anyhow always loved ur channel. Cheers!
@@moto_verde3833 I really appreciate that. Sucks about your clutch hub tho. I had a client come through once with the same issue but it wasn't super severe. I filed down the notches smooth. (Don't do that lol) worked fine with no problems but I dont advise it. I'm doing the best I can to make the most helpful videos I can. Glad you are a fan! You're awesome. Good luck!
The Motorcycle Boss I thought about cutting corners and trying to sand out the rough spots not so much about the money but dying to get the bike back on the road. Decided better just to do the job right. Glad you reconfirmed my decision.
@@moto_verde3833 in a pinch it can work but you definitely went the best route
Any issues using synthetic oil with the ebc clutch plates? Ebc website states "not for use with synthetic oil". Thanks.
Thanks for commenting. Never had a single issue using synthetic oil. However; the oil that you use must be rated for motorcycles with wet clutch systems. Look at the API donut with the JASO rating to ensure it does not have friction modifiers and will work as intended with wet clutch systems. As long as you choose the correct oil, you should not have an issue with synthetic. However; just because I have not had an issue with it doesn't mean that my word should supersede the manufacturer's recommendations. So take my advice for what you will. Here is a link that may help to understand what I'm talking about. I hope this helps and I hope this was enough to earn you as a subscriber. Ride safe! Cheers!
