    The first time I took the front sprocket nut off it wouldn’t budge either. Sprayed some liquid wrench on it and let it sit for an hour and it spun right off with my impact gun. Also not sure how many links the new chain ended up being but the stock chain is 112 links so if you went up by 2 teeth on the front sprocket I’m doubting that your chain was actually 110 links.

      no clue. I don't count links anymore. I simply move the rear tire as far forward as possible, rip off the old chain, lay the new one on, ziptie it to the sprocket where the master link needs to be installed, then cut off the excess. Saves tons of time and is a very efficient way to handle it.

    wow thats like 6 tooth decrease on rear, so how did it ride? 1st gear must have seemed like 2nd?

      Better fuel economy on the highway. Less torque in lower gears but he rides highway every day so he enjoys it. Thats what he told me at least.

    If you tackle this job it's a good idea to remove the rear brake caliper before yanking the wheel out. The way the presenter did it will likely scratch your rim and could also scratch the rear rotor.

      @@TheMotorcycleBoss Very helpful video, I learned something new with the grinding the heads off the pin before pushing it through. The one time I tried doing a chain swap it was brutal getting the pin out and I broke the chain pin removal tool.

    This doesn't look like a zx10r is that why the front sprocket is different?

      ZX10R and Ninja 1000 are different bikes. This bike in this video is the Ninja 1000

    if you change the tooth count, does it mess up the traction control?

      Great question. It shouldn't. The traction control is using metal disks close to the hubs to measure the speeds of the wheels. If the speed is the same, such as cruise speed or light turns, it does nothing. But if it notices to rear moving faster than the front, it knows that the front tire is off the ground or the rear tire is slipping and will reduce power accordingly. Changing the sprocket will change the powerband, torque, top speed, acceleration and such. But the tractikn control system is mainly looking at wheel speeds. So although I have no definite way to say it, I do believe that it doesn't interfere with traction control. Seriously good question tho. Never thought about it until your comment. Cheers!

      @@TheMotorcycleBoss Thank you so much for your reply, it really helped, I will try to change my 2015 ninja 1000 abs sprockets this summer so I can get a higher end speed

      @@seyedmohsenmirmobini591 gotcha. No problem! Just keep in mind that there is a trade-off with sprocket swapping. I don't know if you already know this so I apologize if you do. When you make the bike have better mpg in the top end, you reduce your low end torque. And vice-versa. So be careful when picking your sprocket set. I would recommend looking into a Supersprox rear sprocket. They are amazing quality. Good luck with your project! Stay safe!

      @@TheMotorcycleBoss yeah the ninja 1000 has already too much acceleration for me so I don't care if I lose of low end torque for a better and smoother long rides , thank you or recommendation
