The school lock down stories were what introduced me to the channel 7 years ago. The story where the school technician is hiding and trusting with the shooter still gives me chills
Story 4: I understand OP's point, but the band director made the right choice. In that moment, he knew he the guy wasn't going to go back outside. He knew the intruder would have shot all of them if his intent was to blindly kill them. He took a gamble and made the intruder waste time by going further unto the school, giving him the opportunity to warn security, and (I assume) lock the doors to the band room. Absolutely chilling to think how terrified that teacher and those students all were in that moment.
Yes, thank you! I was gonna make a similar comment but I decided to check and see if anyone else did first. I also can see OPs point but I still agree that the band teacher made the right choice. Directing that man to go back outside wouldn’t have worked and I think he knew that. By getting him to exit the classroom he not only saved his own students while also buying time to contact security, but he also gave the intruder a sense of relief to lower his guard. And in that time he also was able to send an alert to get the rest of the school in lockdown. It really was the best move and I feel like there’s a good chance he was even trained on what to do in that scenario, after hearing how well he handled the situation. (Though there’s also the chance that he was just an exceptional human too.)

I’m from Nashville, TN. Born and raised. I was taking my son to the zoo when my husband texted me from work saying there’s been a school shooting here in Nashville. I was panicking because I have two nephews in school. My heart just hurt so bad when I heard about the deaths and saw the body cam footage. My son was suppose to go visit other family members after the zoo but I couldn’t let go of him. I just can’t fathom. Those poor parents and family members of those killed. I can’t imagine the fear the victims felt before their lives were taken. I’m very thankful for the officers that went in that school and did what they had to do. So scary and so sad.
Despite the negative story that accompanies, I always find it cool when there's actually footage or images from one of the stories. Just makes it that much more real

Our school always took lock downs super seriously. Would not tell us if it were a drill or real, as we were supposed to treat every one as it was real, and even had code words to come out, something like had to say name, job title and I think some phrase related to our school for us to actually come out. I think only once or twice did we ever have a real one in 12 years of school. First one was when we were in elementary school, and there was some crazy domestic issue in the neighborhood right behind us, and another was when we were a bit older and I think the school accidentally buzzed someone in they didn't mean to. Either way, it was super freaky not knowing if it was real or just a drill.
I’m British and we’re so fortunate that our schools never have to worry about attacks at schools. No child or teacher should leave for school in the morning and never come home. My thoughts are with those reading this comment who have experienced attacks and have lost friends and family 💙

It makes me grateful my college campus had some pretty good security having a security desk with a real person at every dorm and building. And we even had drills for inside the dorms and a deadbolt. I believe I didn't go to school with lockdown drills until high school, mostly because our school grounds coincided with a public trail. It's always scary either way. My heart goes out to victims of senseless violence

I think the only lockdowns i had as a kid was when a rabid raccoon got in our school in elementary school and the second was a shoeless man got in the school somehow and he was never found. and then just before graduation a girl threatened to bring a gun to shoot a ex bf. That was the most severe and I’m glad that I graduated before it got worse
Same, the only lockdown I ever had was when I was in 7th grade just because there was an animal on campus, we didn't just go inside, but we hid like there was a human threat, it lasted for an hour, it was really unnecessary and it shows that not all lockdowns are because of armed intruders.
The only lockdown my school has was after school in track I wasn’t there a kid was outside with a toy gun that ppl thought was a real one and once we had a lock out bc someone threatened to shoot to the school we were safe police were outside just in case and that one time a killer was lose but those aren’t lockdown
Honestly that band director was pretty smart. If he has told him to leave there’s a chance he would’ve been angered and done something much worse. He directed him inside then immediately went into lockdown. The chances of him getting into a room to do harm was probably much worse if you would think about it. Def think it was the best out of the situation imo.
I live in Texas and even though we never had a lockdown at any of the schools I went to. Still, I'd hear about school lockdowns and deadly school shootings in parts of Texas. The whole time I heard any of the going on during my time in school is that could've happened to us at any school I attended back then. The closest call was in high school and I was about to go to lunch but my dad came to pull me out of school under the pretense of going to a McDonalds for lunch. After I had lunch with my dad at the McDonalds. I asked him why he pulled me out of school that day. A grim look on his face was shown and he told me that a lot of parents were pulling their children out of school that day because they received a threat or warning about four teenagers coming to school with guns for a revenge attempt on who or what I don't know was for. The four armed teenagers, well, one got arrested and was taken into custody, the other three took off but I don't know if they too got caught later on. The whole time I knew that if my dad didn't pull me out of school that day like other parents were with their kids. That day could've taken a bad turn that ends a lot worse. But my parents are divorced and this was so long ago that I'm just glad I don't go to school anymore.
Band director did the right thing. Storyteller has no idea what he’s talking about. If he knew he wasn’t supposed to be there he most definitely was not gonna exit the school. Getting him away from the kids was top priority if he was gonna request a lockdown right after.
I was definitely a bit disappointed when this was postponed at first. However, I completely understand and respect you for delaying it. My thoughts and prayers go out to those in Nashville and I'm very sorry for their losses.

The 4 story remains my of my own experience with a lock down school. I was in band too and we just came by to the band room from marching practice for a parade. When the speakers announced there was a lockdown we hid in the locker room for the Instruments. Some of my fellow band were not take in seriously and making jokes, some were scared and some were even cry. I had band 6th period and the lockdown started when we only had 15 minutes of class left but the lockdown was still going on after school ended, so we to stay there an extra 10 minutes. At the end everyone was ok and no one got hurt. I heard from other students that some homeless guy broke into the school. (Also this happened then I was a freshman in high school.)

The school lockdown stories were what first drew me to the channel seven years ago. The one about the school technician hiding and unknowingly trusting the shooter still sends shivers down my spine.
The sub teacher and the music teacher were very irresponsible in dangering the schools grounds by just letting in some random person to enter the building, not to mention direct him to the school’s front office.
Man mr nightmare u definitely the OG of all horror stories. Been watching this dude since I was a lil kid, foo been scaring me since then now 18 and still pay homage to his videos much luv.
The scariest lockdown story I’ve personally experienced was in middle school. Around mid-morning we went into lockdown for a couple of hours. The school didn’t tell us anything at the time, but we could tell the difference between a drill and the real deal. I eventually found out later that a homeless guy had wandered into the school. You see, my school was right next to a local park that had a large concentration of the city’s homeless population. Apparently a gym teacher had left the back doors unlocked because it was the day when students would run a mile on the track, and he didn’t want to have to keep unlocking the door all day. The same doors lead into the cafetería and goes outside onto an outdoor patio for students to eat at. It was well known that the local homeless population would sleep on the tables at night, as the patio was sheltered. It seems as if someone was still around in the morning when the gym teacher unlocked the door, and the man let himself inside. Eventually the French teacher found the guy wandering the halls and led him to an exit while a colleague alerted the office so they could lockdown and search the building. As far as I know, nothing ever came out of it, and the school did their best to cover up the whole incident. The only reason I know what really happened is because I was friends with the daughter of the French teacher, and they shared the story with me years later shortly after graduating high school. In the end, I was never in danger, but it was so unnerving seeing how easy it was for someone to get into the building. As we know, that’s whole shootings have happened. It absolutely terrifies me to think about now
I went through a real lockdown when I was in 7th grade, it was all just because of an animal on campus. Not all lockdowns are because of armed intruders.

Thank you so much! The precious students and adults lives were snuffed out by a mentally ill woman. Thankfully, our police didn't hesitate to enter the building (with no body armor) before others were killed--peace, from Nashville
Mr. Nightmare is such a respectable man. He leaves out details to keep peoples privacy and themselves safe. Respect.

You know, I genuinely want to know why people shoot up schools. “Because I was bullied” there are plenty of people that was bullied and they didn’t react this way. Then again there are people who romanticized the columbine school shooters, so I think some people “do it for fun/fame”
Like we can’t even go a year without hearing about a school shooting. It’s really sad.
Lol

Lockdown horror stories is what got me to love Mr. Nightmare's content ya know?
Band director did the right thing. Storyteller has no idea what he’s talking about. If he knew he wasn’t supposed to be there he most definitely was not gonna exit the school. Getting him away from the kids was top priority if he was gonna request a lockdown right after.
That second story gave me literal chills, keep it up Mr. Nightmare ❤️

It absolutely terrifies me to think about now
I gotta admit, if there was actual school lockdown, it would be freakin' terrifying
I went through a real lockdown when I was in 7th grade, it was all just because of an animal on campus. Not all lockdowns are because of armed intruders.
