Story 2 was pretty intense. Having to sneak through a supermarket when theres a man who is possibly there to kill you sounds like a recipe for a nightmare.
As a woman who used to work in a couple of supermarkets, I can verify that they are scary to be in at night. Back in my early 20s I used to work in a deli and part of my job was cleaning the rotisserie and dumping the grease in a holding bin out back. I was just glad that my friend over in produce was always there to watch my back when I'd have to go outside.
That's odd. My wife has been working at Publix deli for 15y and loves it. When she has to close which is around 11pm to midnight, all 5 associates are there to clean, wash dishes, clean the 4 slicers, take out the garbage, mop the floors, clean the kitchen and so on. Same is happening in all the other departments. There are folks cleaning the bakery, produce, meat department, closing cashiers are counting their tills and cleaning up their registers. By corporate policy, they all have to clock out together and leave the store as a group and the manager on duty must unlock the door with a key and watch everyone get in their car before going back inside. All the parking lot lights remain on and very bright--no shadows. Then the stockers come to work and clock in and fill up the shelves for the next day. Publix stores always have employees working around the clock; it does close for customers at 10pm but it remains open all thru the night, lights on and everything. People waxing the floor cleaning all the register stations, etc. It's completely different than you working by yourself in the deli. There is so much to clean and put away, I don't know how you did all those duties all by yourself.
Oh, I wasn't all by myself. It was just my job to clean the rotisserie by myself and to take the grease out by myself. The deli manager was this cranky old British lady who didn't think it was necessary for me to have someone accompany me outside when I had to dump the grease or take out the trash at night, but my friend in produce always accompanied me because he knew how sketchy the area was at night and it was usually around the time he'd be taking out his departments garbage as well, so it always worked out in our favor.
@@elysegnade9967 I see. Well, I suppose which grocery chain someone works at can make a big difference. My wife has been with Publix down here in Florida for the past 15y and she's killing it. She's friends with most of her associate mates. Publix is employee-owned so they can and do buy stock. As on now, she has about $75k in stocks, plus $400 quarterly dividends and now making $21/hr. Last December, her Xmas bonus was $2200, which came in handy. I know that supermarket work is not for everyone, but the store she works in is great from the store manager all the way down to co-workers. Many folks make their careers there and retire with a nice nest egg.
The person in the last story is lucky to even be telling the story with so few brain cells. Things people with common sense don't do, 1. Prop the backdoor open at night while you are alone. 2. Follow the stranger and try communicating with them instead of calling the police.
I know right? Like why the hell even communicate to the weird stranger walking around the store in the middle of the night that is still close. Imagine he pulled out a gun and tries to rob him and the store. Or even worse, kills him, then he robs the store.

so true one time my mom and I were being followed by car and we went to the police station and when we got there she honked her horn and then the man went driving away realizing it was a police station
There actually was a shocking event that happened at the supermarket I worked at. Though I wasn’t on shift when it happened it also has a wholesome ending, but would give you shivers. Basically one night an old guy was buying groceries when he tripped and fell into the dairy fridge and hit his head pretty badly on an metal edge. People quickly picked him up, but the blood was gushing out off his head rapidly and he could barely stand up. The employees carefully laid him in the floor and kept their hands on the wounds. The ambulance came quickly and they took him to hospital. Blood was left everywhere though and my co workers were quite shocked that something happened to an old man. Luckily the story has a little wholesome ending, the man recovered in hospital and two days later the family actually came and gave us a large bouquet off flowers, and a box off chocolates. Along with that was also thank you card for taking care off him and that he was doing fine.
More often than not, it only looks like head injuries bleed a ton, but once it actually happens and you get it under control the victim doesn't lose as much blood as you think. Although since he was older the man may have actually lost a decent amount. I'm glad he recovered, and that was very sweet of his family to send you a thank-you gift!
Still the scariest thing I've encountered with these stories is chillin at 1am watching one when all of a sudden a commercial plays like 2x louder than the video

A grocery store in my college town had a horror story that led to me never shopping there again, considering I'm a 23 year old girl who would shop there by myself. An older woman who worked there was helping a "shopper", to which he ended up stabbing her in the neck unprovoked. Luckily, she survived, and he was locked away. I am a big fan of your videos, you have very scary stories. You are a real genius, I take an example from you. By the way, the last story is really cool. Thanks for a great evening! 💜
Encountering a really creepy person is always something I'm paranoid about when I go to the supermarket late, especially because I typically like going to supermarket later so I don't have to be around much people
I used to do overnights at a grocery store (well a Super Walmart). It was mostly sick people buying medicine, drifters, people who wanted a newly released video game at midnight, people who had crazy shifts that got off work at terrible times going to the store before heading home, a few homeless people. But we had a few real weirdos, like the lady who had never seen a Walmart before.
Honestly, that third story made me raise an eyebrow. I've never worked in a supermarket myself and maybe I'm missing something that someone who has may have picked up on. I just don't understand why Melvin's supervisor wouldn't have somehow let them know that Terry was sick and not coming in, thereby putting in motion the events that happened. I mean, a simple phone call, e-mail, or text would've sufficed. I guess I just feel bad that Melvin went through that.
That’s what I was thinking! Every place I’ve ever worked at or interviewed for has had in their policies that a minimum of two employees must be on open or close for safety. It’s common sense to do that. So dude should’ve told his employee that old mate wasn’t coming in and should’ve found a replacement or gone in to help himself. Also, how about him saying to go get the creepy guy out of the store or get the cops to do it! Ffs, no care for employee safety! If you’re young and impressionable you might think “oh, maybe this isn’t an emergency, maybe I should go back in like the boss said and try to get the guy to leave by myself”… poor guy is lucky to be alive and unharmed honestly
some just write on the paper schedule (especially if it was a last minute call in) sick. The schedule could have been all the way upstairs in an office or break room. This easy access for the morning shifts and/or managers but not night shifts workers, who enter in through other ways and have different work setups. Lastly I believe the store noted that it was in a small rural town or area, which means that store might be a small business and not a chain store with more government regulations
Story 2. Wow, I'm doubting the bald guy was wanting Alex to go into the warehouse section of Walbaums just to rob him, that sounded too much like he wanted privacy to do certain stuff to him. The manager Rob saved him. Scary!
I was at Walmart this one time and this guy walked up to me and said his name was Bret and that he remembered me from college, and that “I had the greasiest little elbows”.. As you could imagine I was confused as hell and I just tried to walk away but he kept following and doing this creepy chuckle. He asked me a few other weird questions and offered me something called sphincter juice which I denied obviously. He eventually left me alone though and I never saw him again. I think he had to have been on drugs or something..
Story 1 : Wherever I live, I make a point of knowing where the police station is for this exact situation, don't lead them to your home or to anyone you know. Car insurance also includes a "tuck in service," call them up, and they get one of their vehicles to make sure you get home safely.

Thanks for frequently uploading man, it means a lot.
This channel, Bedtime Stories and Wartime Stories are the best.
Encountering a really creepy person is always something I'm paranoid about when I go to the supermarket late, especially because I typically like going to supermarket later so I don't have to be around much people
I always wear headphones in supermarkets. No interruptions by random people.
Yay!! Mr. Nightmare. Just made my Saturday night. Fan for life. Best storyteller ever.
Wow! These were really creepy stories. Story 1 blew me away. Mr N is always top class, but these were incredible 👏 👌
If there isn’t a Mr. Nightmare show in the next 8 years I’m gonna piss myself
Just aced a weekly exam now it’s time to relax and enjoy some Mr Nightmare!
An upload after work, I'll enjoy my tea with this one! Thank you for your hard work, Mr. Nightmare!
@@MichelleLM88 Yeah, all of that makes sense now that you've explained. Thanks for the insight! 👍
Quality content, Mr. Nightmare! I love your editing. Keep up the good work, man!
You've been consistent recently, I love it
the fact i work at a store like this really hits close
GLEs, as Kenneth would say... remember this?
The scariest part of being at a supermarket is when mom goes to get something while you’re at checkout
Mr. Nightmare is the OG for horror story content, nobody does it better than he does.
i love u mr nightmare, especially when you upload because i’ve watched all your videos 😭
Story 1 : Wherever I live, I make a point of knowing where the police station is for this exact situation, don't lead them to your home or to anyone you know.
Car insurance also includes a "tuck in service," call them up, and they get one of their vehicles to make sure you get home safely.
Just an example of the shit retail workers have to deal with. Customers during the day, crazies at night.
When I can't find my favorite ice cream in the freezer section of the supermarket, that my friend is truly a horror story.
Frr 😂
I hope Mr. Nightmare never stops....He is the KING of these stories that we love!
Before I found Mr Nightmare I try other so call scary stories. But Mr Nightmare is the best
I wonder how many stories he’s actually found scary
............................and how many stories that he knew from the get-go that they were complete b.s. (Still love his channel though!).
If you're crazy enough to chase down a car on foot holding a baseball bat, then the criminal should know better than to mess with you😂

11:20 A side observation.....what a really nice way to showcase the bread! :) I wish more stores did it nicely like that.
damn, never been that quick to a video, have a nice weekend Mr Nightmare!
Well, I think it's true what they say, nothing good happens after midnight. Stories 2 and 3 are why I've only worked one late shift in my life.
You know it’s a good day when mr nightmare uploads
Since he's started he's been my childhood with scary stories, till this day everytime a video pops I get popcorn and watch it like it's a movie 🍿
Same here I eat popcorn while watching Mr Nightmare
I like it how the shop music from super Mario odyssey with the story is amazing.
Thanks for the video
When you lose your mom in the supermarket and you hear Mr. Nightmare start narrating: 😳
