I live and teach in Japan and something I haven't seen noted in the comments (at least as far as I can see) is how relevant the original video is for Japanese people. The thing is, central heating is seriously rare here; most people get through winter with localised heating (kerosene heaters, electric blankets being the most affordable) so it seriously sucks balls in winter here. The average apartment or house also has terrible insulation, at least compared to the Canadian houses I lived in. My students all resonated with the original video so much they all showed their parents the song, which is a major achievement if you ask me.
I live in a room With no insulation and no vents in America so I can seriously relate. My only heating is an electric radiator in the winter too. I gotta bundle up to sleepe comfortably.

The unspoken message of the song: At many points of our life, we'll have to move outside of our box, our warm comfort zone, in order to achieve something for the greater good. Whether it be something as trivial as simply getting out of bed to go to the washroom, or something bigger such as confessing to someone you might like. Those blast beats and fills are perfect. And did you see the way Nyango keeps in time but switches snare hands?...I could go on lol, freakin' awesome!
Nyango Star is a lady! She really is very talented~
@@otaku-chan4888 Why the exclamation mark? This person didn’t refer to the performer as a “he” or a “she”? I like the idea that the performer inside doesn’t want their identity known and since the performer has NEVER publicly stated their gender (that I’m aware of) it doesn’t matter anyway?
I don't think more agreeable lyrics have ever been written than the ones from this song...
This is a song about not wanting to get out of bed because its cold AF outside the blanket. I like how the song praises you for getting out of the bed and face your fears and uncertainty and at the end of the day, the blanket is there waiting for you. Deep. 😂
I don't know but this gives me. (I'm 14 and this is deep.)
Ok
That's pretty cool. I'm a drummer and I'll literally watch anything this crazy cat/bear/dog/apple (i still dont what it is lol) thing does.
@L El it's a applecat
@@lel7841 It's an apple inhabited by the spirit of a dead cat (not joking)
I live in a room
With no insulation and no vents in America so I can seriously relate. My only heating is an electric radiator in the winter too. I gotta bundle up to sleepe comfortably.
For those wondering, the Nyango Star is rumoured to be Nao from Maximum The Hormone. So metal is her thing
Mascot kayfabe in Japan is taken even more seriously than luchador under the mask kayfabe.
That would make so much sense.
@@moblinmajorgeneral reminds me of that clip of a Pikachu mascot costume failing and deflating slightly and men in black suits come out of no where and wish the poor Pikachu away
I heard it was the drummer from baby metal
It couldn't be her, right? There's a video of Nyango Star playin for them and you could hear Nao singing along slightly off screen. Bro if she got a cloan...
I've never loved a song so instantly and deeply.
AFTER THE MOST INTENSE DRUMMING EVER
“i knew that”
“i knew from the start”
that had me laughing because of how relatable it was 😂😂 anyways awesome drumming, nyango star! and great transcription, george collier!!
When a kid concert is more innovative than 99% of pop music:
Awww the song is actually so wholesome. Got a shock factor just like Nyango star, they're just the perfect combination xD
I'm tired of silently acknowledging you everywhere I go, so now I'll vocally acknowledge you everywhere I go
I'm surprised he hasn't melted into a puddle from the costume
his secret is that he’s always freezing on the inside
Probably a ice pack to keep him cold.
What costume? 😐
Bold of you to assume she's a men lol
She*
0:23 The child knew why he cried. It was freezing. He knew it.
Beautiful. 😂
I need to show this to my daughters and film their reaction 😅
Thanks for the translation. The lyrics is amazing 👏
0:17 *FREEZING*
aww I had never seen the lyrics of this. that's fun.
Also, I dont think nayngostar is overqualified. They are in exactly the place they need to be
I've always been amazed by the skills of some of those metal drummers out there, they're unbelievable!
The costume, music and skill is just a perfect combination
If I didn't know Japanese I would think this is super meaningful and deep, it's just stupid funny for me, if I was a kid, I would love this
Ive been watching these videos for the last two days and Im amazed! This drummer is insanely good! I love that he drums for kids, really great for development.
This is proof that a song about anything can be a banger
Always love to see some Nyango Star. Plus, the actual song is infinitely relatable!
ive only ever seen a short clip of this with no lyrics or subtitles seeing this for the first time in full now has just made my fkn day it will be a good day i can be assured of that knowing this is the first thing ive seen
0:43 part sounds like an anime opening
Because it's a Japanese song 🏴☠️
Fr sounds like anime opening
0:18 Hentai opening

Nyangostar strikes again
I also love that they’re covering this song LOL
The song is actually kinda describing the situation I'm in while watching it, and it finally gave me the motivation I needed
the sheer amount of comedic value in this song alone is enough to both fuel and double the drums
Thank you so much for introducing me to this song, it's my new favorite!
The band is called Beheading Prison Club, by the way. They're really funny.
The swaying to one side and the other gently following the kids melody just makes it HILARIOUS! lol
I missed the original cartoon! Growing up without central warmer, the pain of leaving the blanket was reallllll. Thank you for the lyric translation. I knew I heard it somewhere 😂
Totally a fan of this cat.
Why is this actually a banger
The unspoken message of the song:
At many points of our life, we'll have to move outside of our box, our warm comfort zone, in order to achieve something for the greater good. Whether it be something as trivial as simply getting out of bed to go to the washroom, or something bigger such as confessing to someone you might like. Whatever that uncertainty is, we can only prepare and push forward, or stay back and do nothing.
Thanks for the translation. The lyrics are amazing!
I’ve seen this clip many times before but never with the lyrics. I didn’t realize the song was such an absolute mood
Thanks for the English lyrics \m/. This whole winter this will be my theme song😁
Wow, man. This is fire. That's for taking the time to transcribe! 🔥
The arm at 3:33 is pure delight :D
thank you for lyrics
i dont want to get out of my futon as well.
Overqualified nothing, this *is* the job. Nyango Star is perfectly qualified.
Nyango Star never disappoints.
All of my drum heros for last 50 years have just been knocked down a notch
As a metal head dad who’s kids loves metal this is fantastic
Finally another Nyango Star video. Just jaw-dropping awesome drumming.
Thank you so much for the standard notation!
It's been notated, the lyrics are listed. It's translated. I can tell a lot of work went into sharing this music with the world and I really appreciate it!
this is just a fraction of his power, imagine what he could accomplish without the suit restricting him.
mere mortals cannot comprehend it.
It's a she! And yes her power knows no bounds except the limiting suit for us unworthy mortals
@@otaku-chan4888 What's her name?
@@saritis7123not 100 percent confirmed but good evidence it is the drummer from Maximum the Hormone. The same band that did an opening for the anime Death Note. She is awesome!
Left foot really putting in overtime on this track!
Always love me some good drum set shert music. (:
11/10 most relatable song I've ever heard.
This man is a beast. Glad you are showcasing him again
2:03 if you look closely, you can see on the eyes a see through fabric, so that the person inside can see!
What can I add that has not been said about this video
It's just damn near perfect in every way, from the music to the lyrics to the amazing subject matter and the vocals combined with that smashing drummer and oh! the transitions from ska to punk to.....outstanding vocals t'boot! This video made my day, hell might even make my week. PS. Congratulations on your discovery of a new genre
Didn't know there was a song to describe my daily existential crisis upon waking.
