Thanks for an in-depth settings video for the S95B.
I purchased one yesterday. I'm in the 1430 update. IT LOOKS INCREDIBLE! I have NO clue why people were complaining. All content looks great, and the ui is responsive
The UI is not that responsive, quite horrible actually for what the money buys. But yeah, the picture is amazing.
@@kringkingenI have the 1445 software
And.. all is super fast... Open the aps really fast 🤔
Ive also the S95b and a like it. What mode do you use. Im in Standard because Filmmaker is a little bit to dark for me.
@@Blackfire-yv9jc Agree, filmaker is too dark...
For higher brightness I use standard mode
Brightness 50
Contrast 37
Sharpness 8
Color 34
Contrast enhancer high
Color tone standard
1886 +3
Shadow details +2
Color spacing normal
Max brightness high
Could sounds crazy use color 34, but it looks Great, is similar to use color 25 and warm 1, but the white is white
It looks very very good 👍
Something weird just happened. I changed from Standard to Filmmaker for an HDR film. Was too dark for me. Then I called up the menu and suddenly he pushed the brightness. After that I also did the filmmaker on SDR content and it looks good. Of course it's all very natural but really good. Funny.
My boy KG he gets better by the day we appreciate the effort he put to try help keep it up.
Just got mine today and love it not had much opportunity to fully utilise it yet
Nice! Short and sweet 👍
Great video!!! As always
Love this video brotha!
Dude you made my TV look awesome. I followed every step for SDR Movie. Did the same for SDR Filmaker mode. For those presets I added Color to 38 & Sharpness to 4 . I'm on firmware 1082. Thank you very much man.
Im loving mine it's on 1520 update now. Tizen has really improved 😊.
So, I've been looking into TVs for a couple days now and thanks to your glowing recommendation for this tv I am probably going for this when it's on sale sometime. Might be a few months till it's in my budget
Will you do a updated video with the new firmware or is this still good to use?
Great video,my sdr setttings,1310 software are:
Movie mode
Brightness 40
Contrast 38
Sharpness 0
Color 25
Blur 5
Judder 5
Noise red off
Contrast enhancer off
Color tone warm 1
Gamma 1886
BT1886 -1
Shadow details +1
Color space auto
Peak brightness medium
Another quick question: are picture settings saved per picture mode and per input? I.e. can you customize each picture mode and would that be also distinguished for each source?
It’s about Time KG! Haha my man thanks a lot for this 🔥
Thank you for sharing your tips. About sources, you can create shorcuts on the "home" page of the tv. And for all your sources. So only one press button for acces your sources. ;).
Hey brother- what is your preference for judder and blur settings for both sdr and hdr 4k movies? I can't get it right
I got some questions. How does AI upscaler work in this TV? Do you think low resolution games like 1080p suddenly look 4K? Is there an option to toggle that on and off or change how much upscale you want like Reality Recreation mode from Sony A95K? I am asking this question because I do have ps4 games and also some ps5 games that are not native 4K. I also want to know if games like bloodborne that has Frame pacing issue can be resolved w/ game motion plus feature.
Great video! I just bought the 65 inch and it’s lived up to expectations, the only thing I don’t like is how sports channels look, like soccer etc.
Can you suggest good settings for sports?
Thanks
Are you leaving Filmmaker on for SDR as well?
very interesting this sdr movie mode setting for "pop", do you have your sdr setting for the S95C for "pop" as well? I use filmmaker mode at the moment for my S95C but want more "pop", thank you!
Hey KG , it is possible to indicate step by step what is on or off in the part "You should disable this S95B settings", it is not clear to me on the clip what is on and or off.
Keep up the good work, THX Fred
I would love to get those in store super detailed images. I was told that they are provided by Samsung on a thumb drive paired to a particular TV and that Samsung wanted them returned when the TV was sold. That said it looks like you found the images for this video. How can I get them?
I notice when I turn on contrast encancher to high it gives the best value for this tv in moviemaker! Otherwise i could buy a C1 LG when it comes to set off all settings to off.
I found the difference between Woled and qled very small in setting off the encancher, even with peak brightness set to high.
Color to 28 (because color drops after encancher setting higher) in bt2020...The thumbnails in Netflix (when fast forward, pause or rewind) is exact the same picture quality.. The HDR pops as it should be! Even in dark room..If it's too much for your eyes, lower the brightness but keep the encancher to high..brightness peak also high.. contrast 50...try! Who else?
Are these settings are also good for 1204? I just bought 55 s95 for pc and I am very up to updating it...
got those TV's looking fantastic KG.
Danke!
Great videos KG! Still thinking of getting the Sony A95K 65”. The only thing I don’t like this controller and it seems more frustrating to get to what settings and channels you want.
I'm same .today I demoed them side by side, samsung amazing picture .but the sony a95k was wow and the sound wow .but does it justify £1200 more 🤔
I am getting this TV tomorrow and there's a big chance it will come with this firmware, not the latest. Will absolutely try out these settings.
Hey KG, thanks for a great video - I just subscribed to you. So i just got the Samsung S95B and i'm a complete TV noob - So how do i chnage modes from SDR to HDR to apply the different settings ? is it a case of just opening something like the samsung live tv app which will be SDR and the TV knows you're in SDR then apply settings and then open a 4K HDR source on netflix and it knows it's in HDR mode and then apply the settings accordingly ?
Wondering the same thing
@@chrismarineau4563 turns out you just play Hdr content and adjust your settings and do same for sdr content and it knows which one you are using and saves settings separately and then auto switches between them.
i just got the tv are these setting still the best
after seeing the s95b beside a c2 the s95b in sdr gaming has black crush .While the lg did not? I might be the abl kicks in more on s95b.
Will this work with the Qn90b?
Testing and trying al the modes... I found that the most brightness mode is the STANDARD mode, I also use the "normal" instead auto, the colors are way More like the real colors
But. Warm 2 is way too yellow...
I just use the standard... The colors are exactly like the reality, bright and contrast 50 ,color on 34, 1886 +3 shadow on 2, sharpness 15, tint 0
... It looks amazing, the white is white 👍
With all the firmware updates, you think these setting are still good?
Hi KG - How many clicks on the XBOX X HDR adjust screen? Love the video and thank you!
14 clicks I believe it was.
Do you still use these setting with the latest firmware?
Please reply. I'm on version 1082 I just got the TV yesterday. Should I stay offline and don't update?
Is this with the new 1304.1 firmware update?
When I play hdr plus movies on this there is no indication that it is in effect like my other tvs, say LG oleds, how can I see if it is hdr?
i wish you could do update on the new a80j firmware and run test to tell us what has change and if there any abl changes to gaming?
I can but, I doubt that got changed?
KG, Thanks for the settings. Just curious, how do you set different settings for SDR and HDR? Let's say you're watching cable TV in SDR and then switch to Disney+ streaming HDR content. On the TV, do you change anything or is it smart enough to know that it needs to apply a different set of settings for HDR?
I probably sound silly but I'm not sure how you can specify different color spaces for SDR and HDR. 😀
TV stays in whatever mode you have it in but has different settings for each format, so I reccomend staying in the mode that you watch the most and it will stay in that mode it will be the same for both SDR and HDR.
@@TechWithKG Thanks, I didn't know that a mode like movie can have different SDR and HDR settings. I thought setting color to Warm2, for instance, applied to both SDR and HDR.
how do you tell if the tv is in hdr mode literally doesn’t tell you for filmmaker
@@TechWithKG hi tech kg how do I access bt 2020 on the s95b for gaming and movies because when ever I am trying to change my color space it is always greyed out? Would appreciate any help bro 🙏
How are you accessing BT2020 are you using native apps or external device like nvidia shield pro ?
You have to be watching HDR then select custom under settings > color space
Why is the bt.2020 make the picture Sometimes look more red ?
Can’t wait to see Sony’s
Just long press the 123/colour button. It takes you to shortcuts with all sources.
Is Game Motion Plus only available at 60 Hz? Or can you, for example, set up a custom resolution with 40 Hz or 50 Hz using Nvidia's control panel and use that with GMP? I only have a 10-series Nvidia card and therefore no VRR over HDMI and would only hit 30-50 fps in more modern games. If GMP was available at other fixed refresh rates that would be a total game-changer
I’m not quite sure on that I just know it won’t work at 120hz or with VRR engaged.
Still i do think that setting color to Auto instead of Normal is better. The color should then be set at 38, but of course it is a preference thing. I do like your settings approach. I have almost the same results, but then with different settings. For very dark games i use Contrast enhancer on Low with gamma on -3 and shadow detail at -1
Agree about auto, I had my SDR set to 37/37/37 for over the air TV. I bumped it up to 40 / 40 / 38 after this. (In filmmaker).
@@allnovieveryday yes, the thing with setting color to Normal is giving a lot green push, but other colors are left out. With Auto you have all the colors are pushed
The green push isn’t happening on my 55 but it is happening on my 65. There seems to be a lot of variance here.
@@TechWithKG that clarifies a lot. On my panel in Normal color mode, the green is like 5x higher in volume than all other colors. I guess people should check if this is the case with their panel, although the majority will probably not see this
Hattori Hanzo -nice😀
kg awesome video but I'm confused with doing calibration for HDR on ps 5 ... when doing the 3 settings how many clicks? are they all the same number.. Thanks in advance
15 seems to be safe 16 may be doable but you might clip.
@@TechWithKG so start at the brightest emblem showing and then count 15 clicks? It just looks like I clear see the image..
Yeah you will still see it don’t worry though it’s just tone mapping the pattern. Ignore the pattern. Always make the first one 0 it should be completely black. 15 for the white ones.
Hey KG, I had a question for you, do you think Samsung S95B or Sony A95K TV is better?
A80k.. best vuale
Color space isnt even an option on my tv and Game Motion Plus Settings is grayed out for me. Im on game mode.
Any ideas whats up with that?
I am new to this S95B and was wondering how to choose settings between SDR and HDR? Pardon my ignorance and thanks for any enlightenment.
Trying to figure out the same thing
I have a C9. if I were to go for the S95B, how much of a improvement brightness wise will it be? I assume the biggest brightness difference is mostly in HDR content and SDR is about the same as C9? Thanks man.
Huge difference in brightness 🔅
@@MrWinnieP but for both SDR and HDR?
Can you do a settings video for S85B? I have no idea coz there are no videos for that. Or can i use the same settings as the 95B?
Do you mean the QN85B?
@@TechWithKG oh yea... its the QN85B
How to enable contrast enhancer
Hi all, sorry for being such a noob - but i just bought the S95B and i'm not sure how to determine when i'm in SDR mode Vs HDR mode - and how do you apply the settings to each mode ? So if i open Netflix and play 4k ultra contents - i'm assuming that i'm in HDR mode, so do i then just adjust settings whilst nexflix is paused in background ? Then if i want to change SDR settings, how do i do that ? open something youtube then adjust ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The icon shows hdr under the dynamic, movie and standard viewing icon.
Just got this tv and i generally never calibrate my TVs, but in regards to that it seems I don’t have access to every feature? I don’t have film maker mode (only optimized and eye comfort), and settings like contrast enhancer it stats the function is unavailable. The tv is running on the most recent update, so im really not sure what to do
Turn off intelligent mode
Any burn in
Can you post or link where to go to manually download the firmware via USB? I used to have it saved but lost it somehow

how turn off samsung tv automatic uhd hdr settings?
1080 hd is really good on this tv as good as the native 1080 tv I had once
do you have a vs between the A80J and the A 80K is it worth 1300$ difference?
Thanks
I don’t have the A80K yet but I highly doubt it is worth $1300 price difference I’d just get the A80J it’s a great deal.
My filmmaker mode on 1303 is pretty dull/dark ...I feel like using the intelligent mode and going from there works best for me. Idk lol it's my first OLED/QDOLED and still learning. Was never a big settings guy with prior TV's but thought I'd mess around.
FMM is supposed to be the closest to reference so it won’t be for everyone. If you like intelligent mode use it. Nothing wrong with it, except it locks you into a cooler color temperature but if your ok with it I don’t see any issues.
@@TechWithKG Thank you for the response! I noticed that the cooler color temp was locked in. It depends on the type of content I’m watching whether to use it or not as i do actually prefer warm 2. But so far in love with the TV! Love your videos by the way, big fan!
How do I enable HDR in Netflix? I don’t think it’s on and I don’t see a setting to turn it on.
Demoed the Samsung s95b and Sony a95k side by side . Both pictures amazing. But the sony just wow and the sound wow 👌. But is it £1200 better than the Samsung 🤔🤔
Hello....what mode do you use for hd cable or regular tv? Thanks!
I like filmmaker after the 1304 update
@@TechWithKG thank you!
What would be the best settings for a Switch game, specifically Xenoblade Chronicles 3? I cannot set the colours to at least look not completely tinted on everything else inside that game. Its like it applies a colour filter over everything when I play this game, that doesn’t exist on the Switch display (non oled)
Maybe the contrast enhancer being on by default is giving it this effect?
@@TechWithKG yeah, I have set it to Low and the picture is a bit better. I have the Switch at 80% screen size, that helps too. And one crazy thing I figured out is that the mClassic resolution dongle enhancer on my hdmi cable, needs to be turned off and let my tv do all the post processing upscaling, and 720p res games will look somewhat decent on this beautiful 4k tv. Especially playing at nights, with all the blacks on the oled being completely turned off, it’s quite the nice experience.
I agree with Filmmaker mode except Brightness 47, contrast 45, color 20-22, shadow 1-2, contrast enhancer “low”, BT2020 on custom. Most beautiful 3d picture I have ever seen
You wish, it's a shame these TVs don't do 3d as they would require more processing which would improve picture quality in non-3d content. But if any of those TVs supported 3d, they'd be hard to find as all 3d content owners would buy that model foregoing the other models. You wouldn't be able to find a S95b if that were the case. They'd have 5 million backorders for everyone who wants to upgrade their 3d TVs.
In fact, that would give any manufacturer a niche market.
@@techsamurai11 The 3D I was talking about is just a metaphor on how good the picture looks. It has a definition between the blacks and highlights I have never seen on any OLED before
@@ericvaughan11 I figured that's what you meant 😀 Can you imagine how 3d movies would look on this TV with upscaled 3d to 4k and the extra brightness and color? There are millions of folks with 3d TVs which were usually flagship models prior to OLED who are looking to upgrade their TVs but would like to keep 3d so they can have access to their 3d libraries. I hate the glasses (and the fact that they break easily) but I also cannot deny that it's a vastly superior experience to 2d.
It's a shame that a manufacturer won't add it to a TV as it would sell out instantly for the next year and probably would always be sold out as folks upgrade but keep 3d features. That tv would never reach the hands of a person interested in 2d only as 3d cinephiles would line up and wait 1 year to receive it.
@@techsamurai11 I totally agree, I love 3D, my first OLED was 55” LG curved screen had 3D. If they could have found a way to do it without the glasses I think it would have been lot more popular
It won't let me turn bt2020 on?
Finally long press settings goes to input
I just installed my tv and was able to have my gaming systems to the menu screen without having to hold down the home button…Plus moved them to the front of my apps so it’s ready to play
Can I ask if you had to do anything to make this happen or if it was automatic
@@themanwithinflatableknees8770 well this happened before the Samsung gaming menu update, which is a lot better.
I left my color space setting on auto & when I went back to it, it said DCI-P3. There isn't alot of content that's BT2020.
Firmware update, your settings pretty much set on my TV. One question, in HDR gaming, what do you have the sharpness at? I noticed filmmaker mode is 0.
0 as a I feel like the S95B has a good sharpness at 0 but you can get away with adding some if you want.
@@TechWithKG Well umm coming from an X900E 48, I’m sure I never knew what sharpness really is now.
@@TechWithKG do you recommended me the s95b over my lg cx? or wait for the lg c3 next year with micro lens technology. lower content on the s95b looks less more on the s95b?
Waiting is probably a good idea the CX is still fairly new, unless you have a problem with it. I doubt the C3 will have the micro lens though this sounds like it could be reserved for 8k at least the first year.
@@TechWithKG that will be a no go if they do that. they must be get also a brigther panel then this year. c2 is a joke. not worth to upgrade from the c1. my cx has more brightness with 10 percent window etc. its scam.
@KG a redo of this with the latest 1430 firmware would be awesome
I got something planned now that I have the S95C I will try to get it to look similar since the consensus is the out of box modes on the S95B are fantastic
@@TechWithKG Does this include game mode? I know in this video you said game mode was horrible out of the box. Did that change with the latest S95B models?
Thanks in advance.
I've noticed you've sharpened your approach on these videos, you're honing your skills to a professional level at this KG, it's rare to witness someone grow so rapidly, keep it up brother, thanks as always for all your helpful insights, I think I've decided I'm getting the 65" S95B this year and a larger 77"-83" A95K/A99L in the coming years, to think one day a 65" QD-OLED will be my backup tv, no lie something about that feels next level 😁
Thank you!! Sounds like a great potential setup!
Right? His videos have become the best UA-cam videos imo. Either of those choices are also amazing! Can't go wrong tbh with either lol. The s95b is an absolute animal!
Hey KG, hope everything is good, I just got my Samsung S95B, and I'm really impressed with it. One strange thing that I have noticed is that Filmmaker mode doesn't display HDR, the small icon doesnt show up when hdr is being displayed. But it does on all the other modes, is it suppose to be like that or am I doing something wrong ?, Thanks in advance :)
It’s supposed to show like that they just don’t have an icon design difference
@@TechWithKG Okay so you are saying that Filmmaker mode does display HDR? But that it doesnt show with the symbol? Because I find Filmmaker mode to be really dim when displaying HDR material on lets say Netflix, thanks for the response :)
Yeah some content will seem dim that’s when I use movie mode myself but most content should look good in filmmaker mode
@@TechWithKG Okay great, do you have any settings with Movie mode in HDR that you recommend or do you still recommend going with filmmaker mode for HDR?
I have my hdr movie mode settings in this video I think? Depends on your preference. Movie mode is not accurate filmmaker is if you don’t care and you want the brighter presentation most of the time use movie mode.
hopefully they fix eotf tracking in game mode similar to filmmaker if enough youtubers complain
they should yes and add an option for people that like game mode as it is right now. So everyone is happy 😃
Does the s95b tell you what the signal is ie sdr/hdr
Click the center button on non apps should show it. You can also tell if you look at the settings bar it will say “movie hdr” if your in movie mode etc.
Add your inputs to the apps on the home screen. Easy and much faster than you are showing.
How?
Can you not just add inputs to home? That would be the fastest way to change the inputs then...
Are these SDR settings for cable channels ?
Yeah they should work for that.
Hello I could not find any hdr and sdr setting seperation in the settings menu
You have to just be playing an hdr video then set up your settings.
I bought a s95b and i access bt2020 feature
How many clicks on the PS5 HDR adjust screen?
15 clicks
@@TechWithKG Thank you sir!
So you put HDR
10 Gaming to Advanced? Someone said the s95b doesn't have it to leave it off.
I dont think it matters what you use here? It doesn't really do anything if it does it is so slight it barely makes a difference its meant for HDR 10+ gaming which we don't have many compatible things with yet for that.
🤘🏾😁🤘🏾
BT2020 makes the picture too red. I’ve tried it a couple of times.
👍🏼👍🏼
Hey KG, you didn't mention Peak Brightness in HDR Game Mode Settings. Can you please tell me what to do?
The setting? Always leave that on high for HDR.
S95B 65 is 2599 € already NOW ! ...Meanwhile Sony launching their QD Oled at 4 grands, such epic Fail and Samsung is going to run away Winners at the QD OLED Market shares easily at the end of the year... In fact their generous pricing has impressed me so much, that I've now actually decided to WAIT IT OUT, and getting the S95C 77" next year !! which prolly can be expected to drop under 4200 this same moment in 365 days from here. Lovely, just lovely stuff Samsung.💙
I was planning to do the same. However after some research I read that tv manufacturers have lost alot of money this year due to manufacturing losses. Tvs next year may not have better pricing. Fomo on UA-cam also had a recent video speaking on it. The black friday pricing had me jump on it. $1799 for a 65 inch S95B. I'll take it for the bedroom! I'll wait till they have an 83 inch qd for the livingroom.
Double tap Color 123 button gets to setting faster
Hi in hdr game Mode sharpness and peak hdr no change?
Yeah 0 and the peak high always for HDR
@@TechWithKG Ok so sharpness need change 10 to 0 because samsung set 10 on game mode
I would yeah but it’s really going to be up to you, play around with it see which looks better to your eyes. Some people like a sharper look in gaming.
@@TechWithKG Peak Brightness?
lg c2 had better brrightness control the shade of colors in sdr gaming was brighter than s95b. Not sure 100 percent but in a review vs the 2 sets c2 did a better job in sdr than s95b did .
Exactly the opposite of what you are saying is what I've heard time and time again. SDR gaming is the weakness of the C2.
I received my s95b yesterday
All looks amazing, but no the filmaker mode, it's awfully..boring, a bit brown..
I use this mode before to sleep...
I can't understand how someone can would like to watch a movie on this mode 🤔
the filmmaker mode is the most realistic. I’d rather watch a realistic video instead of an ugly over saturated one
@@AppIeOfficial realistic? HAHAHA 😂 , Take a picture with your phone, caliber the photo and make that it looks exactly like the reality.... Then share this photo on your tv...
And then you will notice than the filmaker mode is stupid... White is yellow or brown??? NO 😂

I can't get BT 2020 only BT.1886 or 2 .2
That’s because you are watching SDR and it’s a HDR space try again when you watch HDR.
@@TechWithKG Hey. If you happen to see this, would you please comment on whether these settings are still good as of the 1304 update? Or if any changes should be made.
No, the fastest way to get to the setting is by using a Voice setting. In this case the native voice is best followed by Alexa which is a bit buggy. Just say Go to the Samsung television settings or something like that.
Has that problem with the game mode white wash picture been taken care of yet? Wont buy this thing till its fixed.
I’ve never experienced or heard of this problem

Oh wrong video then. Thought i heard someone say the S95B looks very washed out in game mode.
would a Universal remote be a good option because the remote sucks?
I've never understood the hype over original creators intent or filmmakers mode I've had a lg cx a lg c2 and just got a s95b I loved my lg oled's bust missed the qled pop of colour and now have the best of both world with the s95b why do people wanna watch a washed out grainy movie or show because that's what dolby filmmaker mode was just made stuff look shitty I never enjoyed that
Your eyes can get used to what u are using. Like, i used contrast enhancher for sd movies for a while, but i just felt that its sometimes too harsh, too bright with some content. I switched to a default movie mode, what is same as the filmmaker but with some motion smoothing, and yes at first it was dull and dark. But after some minutes! i started to get used to it and it was pleasant, smooth to me after that. Now i prefer that smooth, natural look over the oversaturated, over-filmgrained (cuz of extra push in contrast/brightness), syntetic image. Just my 2 cents.
you guys do know that the brighter the oled is the shorter the lifespan right? and no i dont mean that it will suddenly stop working one day, it will be gradual, by 3 years the tv wont be even half as bright, and dont say "these are different" its the same oled tech just slighly brighter, my 2018 oled has a yellow tinge in the middle now and brighter at the top and bottom where the black bars in movies usually are, this is why i went back to qled mini led, looks worse than a brand new oled but not by much and the best thing about it its that the image quality will be consistent for years and years
