Are there any difference to picture settings for gaming when the input is set to PC instead of Console? I believe I read with the input set to PC sharpness should be increased to 10? Should anything else be changed?
So thankful you were able to do this video. Question, I recall the 95c “fidelity and overscan” settings being 12 bit color depth. In this vid you kept it to 10 bit. Is that intentional for 90c? Curious why not 12 or higher for xBox.
@@ClassyTechCalibrationss90c and s89c should be 48Gbps (even though marketing claims 40Gbps for s89c) with s95c being limited to 40Gbps because of the one connect box. Although some say it tested at 48 before firmware 1212. Both Xbox and ps5 aren’t capable of 4L12 so that sucks. If your tv displays 8 bit poorly in sdr you could select higher and let your tv “upscale” it in essence. It might produce a better picture.
Sir I have a question🙋♂️,.. are apps such as Netflix play superb within the TV itself? or run by Roku or Xbox X for example, wich one you'd recommend?
@classytechcalibrations I tried your PS5 HDR settings, and on the Adjust HDR 1/3 and 2/3 screen, going 18 clicks makes the logo super dark? Also on the Adjust HDR 3/3 screen, you can only go up 15 clicks total before it runs out?
Another question, I have the 65 gen 2 and in the ps5 calibration it clips at 17 clicks when it s all white, should i do 18 clicks anyway like 77 model?
this video should be linked in the manuel from samsung!!! holy moly absolutely fire!! great job explaining! yes it‘s fast but guys take it step by step you won‘t be dissapointed!!!
Fantastic video. My SDR looks richer and the ridiculous over saturation in HDR mode is gone: the picture looks vibrant without looking fake. Any recommendations for color space settings in SDR mode? Do you just leave it at auto? I noticed the native or normal modes look a little more punchy. Do you recommend any custom numbers for color space in SDR?
Hey Classy, is there a way to save the SDR settings and HDR settings at the same time for Filmaker and Movie modes? Or we have to change the settings each time we switch? Also, the Movie mode is dimmer than the Filmaker one on my S90C and I have the Power saving modes turned off on both :(
Why not original for hdr while gaming? Is the pseudo hgig really worth it over better eotf? Does the 4000 bit tone curve really matter when there’s tone mapping anyway? I’ll do some pic comparisons myself to see which preserves the highlight detail the most but I suspect it’ll be original as standard starts clipping too on the curve (aiming for a couple hundred nits above tv reference brightness).
Do you use HDR original with static tonemapping? How do you like specular highlights? They say they are pretty dull with this setting. I use original preset in SDR and I find that input lag is lower. And I would like to try HDR original but may be I'm using wrong settings - the picture seems a little bit off. Could you share your settings please?

Did not like that Samsung requires all my private info and an account to set up the tv. When did that Bs start? I did not set it up for that reason. That’s my only major disappointment with this TV. I can’t even update the firmware without an account.
Do you have any specific recommendations for screen cleaner solutions? Apparently, QD-OLED screens can be difficult to clean (i.e., smudging when attempting to wipe any spots of residue) with only distilled water.
i know little about this, but i have a couple questions. 1. i run movies and stuff from my pc which apparently has 4:4:4 color or something. will a movie that i stream from my pc look worse, than if i just streamed it through the tv itself, or will it be just the same? 2. when using my pc and pc only, i am unable to use filmmaker mode. the regular options are replaced only by entertainment/graphic modes. can i make it in any way possible so i can use filmmaker mode? the only thing i figured out that works is setting the refresh rate to 24hz, and then i can use filmmaker mode, but that is not suitable to use for pc use.
I was going to ask the same thing, I only use my S90C as a gaming desktop monitor and the only HDR modes available are graphic and entertainment. I'm assuming that these settings wouldn't have the intended effect with those modes. Of the two, I choose to use graphic mode as it appears more neutral/correct in colouring. I did switch to bt.2020 though assuming that I get a larger colour space but I dont know if the detailed settings would have the same effect.
Hi Classy. Thank you for the very detailed review. Should I keep both the blur and judder reduction on 0? If I increase blur reduction would I not see more details in motion? Thank you. Peter

First time I been out of the tv world this year since 2015 because of private life and things needed to sort for the move.
I know its a old video so don’t expect a reply but would love to hear what you think,
Thanks and hope all is well 😊
I'm in doubt if I use these settings or the settings from the avs forum...
Are there any difference to picture settings for gaming when the input is set to PC instead of Console? I believe I read with the input set to PC sharpness should be increased to 10? Should anything else be changed?
seconding this question @classy
Also curious because the filmmaker mode isnt available on PC mode.
So thankful you were able to do this video. Question, I recall the 95c “fidelity and overscan” settings being 12 bit color depth. In this vid you kept it to 10 bit. Is that intentional for 90c? Curious why not 12 or higher for xBox.
It'll automatically change to 10bit regardless, and being 40gbps couldn't do 12bit at 120hz anyway.
Wondering the same thing
Can these settings be applied to the S90D?
Are this settings good for modded s90c to s95c?
@classytechcalibrations I tried your PS5 HDR settings, and on the Adjust HDR 1/3 and 2/3 screen, going 18 clicks makes the logo super dark? Also on the Adjust HDR 3/3 screen, you can only go up 15 clicks total before it runs out?
What is your opinion on using a fire stick to stream content instead of the TV apps? Which is better?
Fire stick/cube or AppleTV is better to use.
Another question, I have the 65 gen 2 and in the ps5 calibration it clips at 17 clicks when it s all white, should i do 18 clicks anyway like 77 model?
You can do 17 if it's clipping then.
this video should be linked in the manuel from samsung!!! holy moly absolutely fire!! great job explaining! yes it‘s fast but guys take it step by step you won‘t be dissapointed!!!
Also, the Movie mode is dimmer than the Filmaker one on my S90C and I have the Power saving modes turned off on both :(
For sdr you need to be watching sdr content and hdr content for hdr and it will save automatically
Any recommendations for the colour space settings for SDR gaming?
Just leave it in auto and use original game mode preset.
@@ClassyTechCalibrations thank you for the fast response! Have a great evening!
Hi! Is there any way I need to know how to calibrate HDR games that use original HDR settings?
Got the Samsung S90d last week. Afraid to update it. Is it true samsung nerfs brightness with updates? Have you noticed a difference in them from when you first used them until now, after a few updates? Thanks in advance.
I currently have a Q90T bought in 2021 and I use the TV largely for stream from Apple TV 4K and playing from PS5. I have a full Sonos audio system 7.1.4 and unfortunately Samsung audio passthrough causes drop outs every 20mins. Would you recommend S90C for this usage or rather an LG C3 or G3 or Sony A80L? The A95L is just too expensive for me. Thank you
Thanks a ton for this video! For the 77" model (2nd gen panel) would you recommend to follow this guide or the S95c one? Especially in regards to the BT2020 color adjustments.
No follow the s90c he states this in his older video
@@Brytech1216 thank you. Which video are you referring to? I've seen the video where the BT2020 adjustments are covered and I don't remember to have my question addressed there.
@@ptdayton81 sorry I think he actually commented on that video and thats where I saw it. I have the 77 s90c as well
He mentions 1st gen panel or 2nd gen the same, software limited restricted
i have the 77 in s90 also just bought at costco, question do any of you guys have a problem with judder? like soap opera effect? if so how can i get it to stop doing that LoL for some reason my streaming does not seem as sharp! lmk because i really do not want to return
Do you have a calibration guide/optimal settings guide for the LG G3 yet? I haven't seen one.
I have since earlier in 2023
Is it the one that says complete settings guide/tips?
@@NorthShoreDrama yes
Bro thank you for the video but how do you go to HDR? I don’t understand that, I did everything until you said you go to HDR
You need to get HDR content my friend. Just open UA-cam and search for an HDR video so you can set the correct settings
Hello Classy or someone who could help. If i set Rec.2020 and content will be mastered only in DCPI-3 will it be worse than set this colorspace to auto? Rec.2020 should have all the colors DCPI-3 has and more. These settings that are posted make colours more realistic according to measures? Thank you.
I saw HDR and SDR settings in the video. A question:
does HRD mean only the hdr10+ content? If that's the case, for normal HD TV series, do I use SD or HD settings?
No hdr10+ is not used on gaming yet except one or two use cases and shouldn’t effect settings in movie/film mode.
2nd gen panels are much easier to clean. I used distilled water with a tiny drop of dawn in it and a high GSM microfiber towel.
Would custom by.2020 on normal filter in HDR be a good setting if you don’t want to use custom values?
i know little about this, but i have a couple questions.
1. i run movies and stuff from my pc which apparently has 4:4:4 color or something. will a movie that i stream from my pc look worse, than if i just streamed it through the tv itself, or will it be just the same?
2. when using my pc and pc only, i am unable to use filmmaker mode. the regular options are replaced only by entertainment/graphic modes. can i make it in any way possible so i can use filmmaker mode? the only thing i figured out that works is setting the refresh rate to 24hz, and then i can use filmmaker mode, but that is not suitable to use for pc use.
Thank you. Peter
I just bought the S90C and to be truthful with you I like the standard setting the best. I don't care for movie or filmmaker mode. Those settings are way too dim.
I got my 77 s90c a few weeks back, I don’t know if I got lucky with the panel but the windows HDR calibration tool sets me to about 1590 nits until I can see the pattern disappear, also, on the ps5 calibration tool I have to go up 19 clicks until the sun disappears, aren’t those measurements above average for this tv model?
That's because it's tone mapping and not clipping.
I just got this bad boy 65" for 999$ with 5y warranty total 1300$ , beautiful color and picture, still love my c1 48 for gaming but qd oled is the next gen lmaooo
Best settings on UA-cam. Thank you
This is very confusing I don’t get the red green and blue three different sets of numbers and letters for each individual color. ?
Does the same apply for the s95c? Thanks
Thanks for this great video! Do these settings still apply to the newer firmware?
did you find and answer or tried it yet?
@@TheMasterTMTheMaster1507 I didn't, not definitively. I kept it on 1310 firmware and disabled updates in the end. As I've read in numerous places that the 1410 firmware exhibits stuttering in some content. Very happy with it as is.
@@N1337w thanks for the answer ! I really can’t decide between the S90C in 65inch or the LG C3 65inch since they are the same price in Germany on Amazon… I watched so many reviews and both have some pros and cons
@@N1337wi updated to 1430 and i got the stutter in gamemode never had any stutter before updating
When you show color settings for BT2020 at the top of the screen, i have no idea what im supposed to do! Each RGB only has one number. You list 3 settings per RGB. Can you help me interpret how to set these? Thanks.
Question, just bought this tv and I have a relatively dark room, can I just use the dark settings for both sd and HD content?
It's ok I've set sdr and hdr up separately as well as gaming but only for dark room setup
Is this the settings for the 43/50 inch version or the bigger ones?
are these tips comparable to use on QN90D ?
I usually can’t stand warm 2 but with your HDR colour space settings I prefer it for movies and games in HDR now, thanks Classy
I'm missing the color space settings for yellow, cyan and magenta. Can you help? Many thanks
@@ecanor6386 haven’t added anything that’s not in the video
Great video Classy 👍🏽👍🏽
I must have missed this but do I turn peak brightness off or on med or high for HDR? Also, do I apply settings to current source, or all sources when applying presets? Thanks in advance.
I wonder if these settings apply to s90d now that it’s confirmed to basically be the same as s90c
It’s not same TVs, actually S95D made quite a leap rather than the typical a couple % gain. So better with new settings
Was this for the 77 inch s90c? Second gen panel? 50 is way too bright.
