      I did as well. But gotta be honest. The TCL qm8 picture is better in some ways. Brightness obviously. The only problem with that TV is sports the background does a weird thing because of the mini LEDs.

      @@DarthRaider for me. Brightness at 40. Low contrast on contrast enhancer. Dynamic picture mode. Auto brightness etc all turned off. I do use low clarity settings. 5 on the first and 2 on the judder. Peak brightness high. Could do better than this but I like the tv to pop. All these movie or filmaker mode settings. Look bad to my eyes

    What about the third step for adjusting PS5 HDR? You can only go 15 clicks up or down total on that one

    • @wkono8566
      @wkono8566 10 місяців тому +4

      Third step is how black should be black. Set it on 0 clicks if you want to have shadows/dark corners as black as it is intended to be. Set it to 1 or 2 clicks if you play games where someone might hide in shadows (e.g. in some multiplayer). Then black corners are slightly lightened up which might be kind of dark grey then.

      C3 less bright, worse remote, higher input lag (I think).
      But it has Dolby Vision, better low quality content upscaling, more stable apps (No Tizen rubbish) and consistent panels. The Samsung is often significantly cheaper but if you can find the LG at a comparable price point it'd be my choice

    I tried this out for PS5, too warm and dark for me. I reset the picture and turned off the TV HDR and changed to BT 2020 and have game motion on level 2 and turned on my PS5 HDR. Seems pretty good and fixes the orange and red saturation I was getting in some games like fallout 4 during certain weather patterns that are applied with mods. Still worth trying out and good information, thank you sir. Might try turning HDR back on with warm off and see how that looks maybe

      @@ClassyTechCalibrationss90c and s89c should be 48Gbps (even though marketing claims 40Gbps for s89c) with s95c being limited to 40Gbps because of the one connect box. Although some say it tested at 48 before firmware 1212. Both Xbox and ps5 aren’t capable of 4L12 so that sucks. If your tv displays 8 bit poorly in sdr you could select higher and let your tv “upscale” it in essence. It might produce a better picture.

    Why not original for hdr while gaming? Is the pseudo hgig really worth it over better eotf? Does the 4000 bit tone curve really matter when there’s tone mapping anyway? I’ll do some pic comparisons myself to see which preserves the highlight detail the most but I suspect it’ll be original as standard starts clipping too on the curve (aiming for a couple hundred nits above tv reference brightness).

      Do you use HDR original with static tonemapping? How do you like specular highlights? They say they are pretty dull with this setting. I use original preset in SDR and I find that input lag is lower. And I would like to try HDR original but may be I'm using wrong settings - the picture seems a little bit off. 2. when using my pc and pc only, i am unable to use filmmaker mode. the regular options are replaced only by entertainment/graphic modes. can i make it in any way possible so i can use filmmaker mode? the only thing i figured out that works is setting the refresh rate to 24hz, and then i can use filmmaker mode, but that is not suitable to use for pc use.

      I was going to ask the same thing, I only use my S90C as a gaming desktop monitor and the only HDR modes available are graphic and entertainment. I'm assuming that these settings wouldn't have the intended effect with those modes. Of the two, I choose to use graphic mode as it appears more neutral/correct in colouring. I did switch to bt.2020 though assuming that I get a larger colour space but I dont know if the detailed settings would have the same effect.
