Had some fun making this little clip and thought you guys might enjoy. This video is satirical but honestly.. id probably still play this if it existed. Warhammer 40k, Space marines and Tyranids going to war over 8 bits of high octane graphics.

Sticking wyh the retro game idea, like wyh boltgun. A game like megaman but about a space marine could be pretty cool.
You can have the same sort of powerup unlocks, better armour, jump pack, etc. Each boss is a different race from the game, and you get a different ability from each.

Hey! Can i suggest a gory example?
You see,the penitent engine from the adepta sororitas is basically an unarmored woman or man strapped in the mech, exposed, and ready to be killed in battle.
Why not make one with the penitent engine on stand-by position, or offline, where the engine is nearly intact, but the "pilot" is just the strapped remaining gibblets?
EDIT: if not, how about a damaged dreadnought, with the sarcophagus breached. The crippled marine encased can be half exposed, and maybe use some transparent matter (such as clear glue, for example) to make drips of the life support fluids dripping down the breach, mixed with blood.
