I absolutely LOVE it. For me it is their most Progressive album and by far their best work. Tool ages like a fine wine man. This album is a 13 year vintage. Cheers ;-)
I save album promo labels from packaging too. I think I still have the label from Rush’s Exit Stage Left which I bought in late 1981 in 9th grade.
Thanks Brad! That's some pretty badass artwork!
It's like a DMT trip. Same amount of time also.
Or a good brain washing...
I'm so happy watching your reaction!! Absolutely beautiful!!!!
Been calling around and driving around everywhere for this for days, still no luck. I'm mentally and physically exhausted...
You got one of the 4 Variant back cover arts! with the side being different too. Thats really cool.
Wow they really dump a lot of $$$$ in their packaging this beats all i've seen yet.
Watchman4u Yeah...makes up for the 10 mediocre songs that comes with it!
@@hugodoucet2872 I thought it was pretty good. Been a fan since lateralus came out and have every cd they put out including this one.
I would give it 9/10.
Smart business move actually when you only release records for yourselves aha.
@@hugodoucet2872 boo fucking hoo Tool evolved and you didnt or you're not a fan and thats okay too aha
They have always had something hidden in every single albulm. Good luck.
Hmmm... Your packaging has more elaborate printing than mine. The dots on the front, and the raised pattern around the screen area. Mine is standard flat printing in those areas.
My copy also is just flat. My guess is they printed a limited run with the more intricate detailed cover. Kind of disappointing considering I pre ordered within the first half hour they started taking pre orders. The copy this dude has here....is super rare....because it's the only one I have seen like it. Every one I have seen is flat. That's tool for you.
@@sevinmiles I have seen at least two others, a few days prior to the official release, a little kid is doing the opening, and then yesterday there was a video of two guys at a table. Neither of them focus on the packaging closely, but you can see glimpses of the better packaging when it is moving around.
I seen no mention of extra special limited editions, or that one preorder retailer or another got a better version.
I also ordered on the first day available for pre-order... So I don't think it is a time frame issue. Likely more than one printing company was used to fill demand, and one of them dropped the ball.
@@jasonh4534as of right now there have actually been 4 different versions found. Each one having a different star on the back cover. I am sure there are many unlocked secrets yet to be revealed.

immediatly ordered that book where nothing is true but everything is how it is
Good luck. Wait till you get to the whale part..
@@SaturnAscends11 yeah i already went there and that was a pretty lol and wild ride :D
Interesting. Your packaging is almost the same as the one I ordered, but mine lacks any of the embossing on the front cover or on the inside. The screen portion of yours is the most different from my copy. I’m curious if you got yours through Amazon or you ordered from another site.
Amazon.
Actually, I ended up checking Discogs. There are three different packages for the U.S. release. If you go to Discogs you’ll see the the three descriptions in the notes on the U.S. versions and pictures in “images”.
First and foremost, this album is absolutely marvelous!! The songs are awesome and the production quality is out of this world!! Brad like always I enjoy your videos! This was a cool unboxing. I laughed my socks off hearing your daughter's " How boring dad"😂 I am a great big TOOL fan also, which means I obviously ordered my new dosing of TOOL too. I am wondering though, I live in Germany and the Limited Edition Version that I have received for 79€ is also very well made and is an absolute joy too watch and listen to, but your version is on the outside and inside nicely embossed !!!!So IAM kinda like WTF!? Why would they make different versions of a limited edition? Kinda t's me off 🤪. Rock on and greetings from Germany🤘
It’s like Pokémon. Gotta catch em all now.
0:59 that child does not know what he is talking about. He has not been shown the magic that is TOOL.
“That’s so boring dad”
Put that kid up for adoption
Wow! They went all out on this one!
That's weird, my copy doesn't have those 3d dots on the front.
It was sold out last week when I tried to order it.
Its sold out everywhere. Impossible to get. It's on Ebay and Amazon for 300 🙄🙄🙄😳😳😳
@@rubaidaallen2764 I saw a few available 2 days ago on Amazon for 170 new and a few for 220 used! Lol
Merkaba is what those multi star things are called. cool stuff actually.

Still mad at Maynard for not making a standard edition. The limited ones are like 100 something dollars now.
These are going for over $100 already! Can't wait to see what they're worth in a few months
700 on poshmark 🤯🤯🤯
“Is that Shiva?”
“I am Groot!”
That is the coolest packaging I've ever seen, who do they think they are Pink Floyd or Captain Beyond ? ;-)
There's also a charging cord tucked into the center panel of the CD case.
I saw that after filming. I plugged into my laptop as well to see if you could dump files... No drive comes up. You'd have to crack it open to access the memory.
Amazing album!
If you look, the 7 pointed star on the see through pages gets less complex as you go through the jacket. Likewise, the 6 pointed star gets more complex as you go through.
I did notice that.
The translucent pages are vellum. Back in the old days I used it for mechanical drawings & exploded views when I worked for Ariens (snowblowers & lawnmowers) Mfg.
Vellum is actual deer or goat skin. I doubt it's real vellum. Some kind of high quality paper.
@@Fixologist1 www.artsupplywarehouse.com/classDisplay.php?id=136 - BTW cool vid...almost had an acid flashback, and the 3 symbols below the display might be stop/pause/play/ff/rev controls?
@@jopestv1063 Gotcha on the drafting vellum. You may be right on that one. And you're definitely right on the buttons. I realized that after I quit filming.
@@Fixologist1 - enjoy the disc!
...even the shine from the torn off clear plastic looks like some crazy elaborate ancient mask..
So if you want the new tool album now you have to pay for the limited edition cd for over 90£ or download it. I have the full gloss version the embossed version looks awesome so much more added detail. Are the other 2 versions the true limited edition versions and the full gloss is standard edition because there is no other version of the cd to buy yet. We have all been exploited wait and see
I'm sure they'll eventually do a vinyl edition. I'll buy that if they do. Not sure I'd see the point in another CD edition, but they may.
"That's so boring dad" That broke my heart I´m so old
The kid likes classical music
I think it's very cool to come out with such creative packaging! It gives fans a reason to buy the CD & case "itself" & not just the download! 🎶💙🎶

My copy's booklet might have been put together wrong. I'm missing the picture of Danny and the lyrics for Descending. Instead, I got the pics of Maynard and Justin as well as the lyrics for Invincible and Culling Voices twice. Kind of upsetting not to get a flawless copy for the money they charged. Still an album and a presentation that was worth the wait, though.
Neat! An error! With some people errors are a selling point.
Hmmm make sure you didn’t get a bootleg cartel copy. You might have a special “package” inside your version. Reach out to seller
@@rebelduck9077 Nope, definitely not a bootlegged copy.
Ricky Spanish yours is definitely a collectible! 😃
Very cool. You see these kinds of fractal and geometry stuff in Hindu culture as well. Thanks for sharing.
And in Buddhist temples.
@@Fixologist1 Yes, indeed.
Obviously not saying to kill the child, but, if I personally heard anyone refer to tool as boring, you know...
How come i got a different glossy box and not this one?
Ordered 5 minutes after the link was open @ amazon.com ....there was only one to select...
This one is really nice with the mat finish.
it's Alex Grey's artwork. Visionary art. That's the type of places you go when you smoke DMT
The very fact that you named Tricky from the Parabola video shows me how much of a Tool fanatic you are off the bat
Nerd?????? Why doesn't all people save stickers like that. If they are stuck to the cellophane wrapper I just cut it out and save it along with the CD.
I do the same thing!! I also stick the reciept in there, or I did back when you could buy CDs in stores. It blows me away that I've had some for 30 years!
You just let a ton of demons in your house through that tool portal.
Did you or anyone ever disassemble and reassemble it to figure out what the hike hole are?
fucking amazing, get my copy next Wednesday, paid for but having car problems, wasn't sure why I was paying so much, but now I see it is well worth it, this album will be a collectors item for sure.
Thank you for sharing that man..very cool and unselfish of you :)
Folding the centre of the tool logo left to right or vv, (centre mirror image if you like) turns the tool logo it into a syringe. Inoculate much? Oh and at 5:11 of the 10:22 title song, Maynard says mitosis. Clever mofo's. Rad!
I haven't received my copy yet but would like to know what the additional material is?
