I use a moza air 2 with smallrig cage and a T5 SSD and it balances with ease, I’ve seen a lot of complaints from people complaining that they can’t balance it and have to use counter weights but I’ve never used any counter weights and I balance it perfectly every time, my advice is the moza air 2 is still the best gimbal for this camera and lens combo, and to be honest gimbal work is never light work 😂 check out my Instagram I’ve got a photo of how I’ve set it up @eskapone 👍🏾💯💯💯
Hi, i just bought a Blackmagic 6K and i'm looking for a lens. Talking about the Sigma 18-35, i read it is an APS-C lens, how can i use this lens on Blackmagic since it's supposed to be a full frame camera, i mean, do you have to set up something in the menu? Is there some quality loss, using it on a Blackmagic?
I’ve noticed the slight play when I got it but not enough to worry about, but for peace of mind ive added a small lens support to the Viltrox and the cage and then if I’m using it on rails I put another lens support on rails to take all the weight from the lens, I hope the helps with your question 👍🏾
I just got this lens (for my GH5) a few months ago. I already have a good collection of M4/3 lenses (as I’ve been using the system for like 8 yrs) and most of those are primes but my standard zoom (leica 12-35) is only an f2.8 and I call it my daylight lens and also my travel lens but I definitely do not call it my Low Light lens!
@@eskapone I haven’t had a chance to try it out on a proper (low light) gig yet (because they were cancelled) but I did use it for a ‘football training during lockdown’ shoot. The Sigma and GH5 came in just under the weight limit of my Moza Air Cross mk1 and (once I balanced it) it was faultless on the gimbal for over an hour. With the BMPCC 6k you will need the lens with the Cannon EF Mount otherwise it won’t fit the camera you shouldn’t need anything else, I hope that helps 👍🏾💯💯💯
Can I ask, how do you adjust the aperture on this? You're using a Nikon lens with Nikon to M4/3 Viltrox that doesn't have an electronic connection, so you can't adjust pin the BMPCC. As I understand it, the Sigma doesn't have an aperture ring... Really interested. Thanks for what you do sir :)
No problem 👍🏾💯💯💯 on the Viltrox speed booster with the Nikon mount, it comes with a built in manual aperture ring which gives you full manual aperture control, I hope that helps

They are all the same lens but how they connect to your camera is the only thing thats different, I use the Nikon version because ive been doing photography on various Nikon cameras for years so it made the lens more versatile to my creative needs also the Nikon version with a speed booster is the only mount that gives you full manual control with an aperture ring on the speed booster but the canon version is very popular because a lot of videographers have upgraded from filming on canon dslr’s so for them that was the natural progression for them either way get a speedbooster that matches your choice and you’ll be perfectly fine 👍🏾💯💯💯

I just purchased the Blackmagic 6k Pro, and I picked this lens up. My goal is to start shooting a short action film. I grabbed a filter to reduce this lens sharpness, but I am worried that maybe action movies require a totally different lens. Can you help me out? I'm hearing all kinds of different things. Some say I need an 85mm lens for action, other's say cine lens. Please help!
This lens is perfectly fine to shoot your movie, the look you require for the action will be determined by the frame rate you you shoot at (motion blur) colour grading (post production) and your final edit, don’t let the fact the lens is sharp throw you off because it’s easy to make great image less sharp or out of focus but almost Impossible to make a bad image great or focused after the shot was taken
It depends on the type of lens you might have already, I’ve been a Nikon user for over 10years so I have a lot of great Nikon glass so buying a Nikon mount was a natural choice for me plus! the Nikon adapters give you full manual control of your aperture where the others are all digital 👍🏾💯💯💯
I have a sigma 35mm 1.4. Also will I need some sort of mount adapter for it in order for it to mount on the black magic? It’s a lens I’ve had in my catalog for a while, i’ve been using it on my D750 for some time now.
The lens it’s self can use autofocus or manual focus depending on what camera body you use it with but the Bmpcc4k/6k camera is designed for manual focusing and doesn’t have a autofocus system like most DSLR’s
I have the canon 24-105 mm. Is this a good starting lens? Versatility? I’m not sure whether I should return it or not. I can’t fit it on the bmpcc 6k, do you have any suggestions of adapters etc to use to get it to fit on it? Is there any strengths/differences compared to the sigma one you mentioned?
Check your aperture ring isn’t wide open because it has a manual aperture ring on it which the canon version doesn’t I’ve got 3 of these each on my my pocket 4ks and haven’t had a problem with focusing hope that helps 👍🏾💯💯💯

Depends on which BMPCC 4K you're using. If you are using the Micro 4/3 version, then you can use Micro 4/3 lenses natively. Canon EF lenses can be used on the EF version of the BMPCC 4k. If your lenses are not Micro 4/3 or Canon E/F, then you should probably get the Micro 4/3 version of the BMPCC 4K, as it is very easy to adapt most lens types to Micro 4/3.

It depends on which camera you own if you have a pocket 4K then you will definitely need a speedbooster because it’s a micro four thirds mount system but if it’s a pocket 6k you don’t because it’s a cannon mount, I hope that helps 👍🏾💯💯💯

That Sigma 50-100 is heavily slept on. I know the whole crop factor thing, but that's a beautiful lens for the P4K and P6K.

viltrox/metabones speedbooster also reduces the crop factor on the Sigma and makes it an f1.1 too!

More like f1.3 and the reduced crop factor makes it 1.349 to be exact. So pretty much APSC or super 35 size.

Can the sigma 13-35 be attached straight to the BMPCC 4k? Or do I need to get an attachment to make it work? And if so what would you suggest? Thanks!
Depends on which BMPCC 4K you're using. If you are using the Micro 4/3 version, then you can use Micro 4/3 lenses natively. Canon EF lenses can be used on the EF version of the BMPCC 4k. If your lenses are not Micro 4/3 or Canon E/F, then you should probably get the Micro 4/3 version of the BMPCC 4K, as it is very easy to adapt most lens types to Micro 4/3.

Hi, quick question. I’m sort of new to the whole black magic and the lenses in general. But i wanted to know if the speed booster is required to use the sigma 18-35 lens or can i just use the lens without the speed booster?
It depends on which camera you own if you have a pocket 4K then you will definitely need a speedbooster because it’s a micro four thirds mount system but if it’s a pocket 6k you don’t because it’s a cannon mount, I hope that helps 👍🏾💯💯💯
