HIDDEN FIGURES is the incredible untold story of Katherine G. Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe)-brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, a stunning achievement that restored the nation’s confidence, turned around the Space Race, and galvanized the world. The visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big.

"You sir, you are the boss. You just have to start acting like one." OUCH! Powerful statement!
renegade runner that statement is a pain in the butt and a great pay back 😂😂
La cara que puso Kevin Costner jijijiji
I love how she adjusted her glasses after she made that statement 😏
I know. I've just sent this clip to my Prime Minister. I don't expect that he will see it but I have done my civic duty.
I forgot that part I L'dOL in the theater.
„You just gotta act like one....sir“ Aahahahaha I LOVE this movie so much
kind of rude response though
Jordan well, if you see the film, she had a good reason. And been a black woman in those time, I would be rude too😂 they are rude to her all the time and putting her down.
😄😂I love that, that's right...... Smh .... 👉🤔👁️👀😂
@@Jays_dead_cat in ur mind..... Boi grow up
That’s that Cookie Lion attitude 😂😂
“You’re not gonna let this go are you?”
“No I am not.”
MMMMMmmmmmMM
It's all!

I love how she said “Sir” as if to lessen the sting 😂
You can call somebody out on their bullshit, just do it respectfully.
It’s a movie they want you to cheer and smile but in real life she would have never spoken to a superior like this.
😂😂😂😂
It does a little. It meant that Katherine still respected Harrison as her director after trying to get her point across.
Yup, great line, but grow😂 a pair would have worked too !:)
"There is no protocol for a woman to attend a meeting..." LOL. What protocol would that require? Pink pens in the room? Tampons on the table?
Technically it goes back to some old military convention about there being no women allowed in the war room. Typically because most of the military leaders were men and thus women were classed along with non-military personnel as civilians without authority to be there.
@adams1030 they could serve complementary tampons and chocolate at the meetings 😂😂😂
Maybe there would be strict requirements to hold the door or stand up when she is about to enter the room, and for a herald to shout HERE COMES HER LADYSHIP, ACT ACCORDINGLY! That would be fun.
adams1030 You have to understand that before it was believed our brains function differently and we as women were incapable of performing such duties.
Safebox Gaming and then come fake wars...
“Girls aren’t working at NASA because they wear skirts. It’s because they wear glasses. Good day.”
I loved her sass so much
lol. "You sir, you are the boss. You just have to start acting like one. ....Sir." Lol. I love it. She's all sassy and for a sec -oh wait...where's my manner? lol
Pushes her glasses up and all too return to 'meekness'
...more like being resolute, in my opinion.
Kevin gave her that look my mom gives me when I sass back to her lol
Haha right
I know right,it's like she just accidentally slipped🤣🤣🤣🤣
I still can't get over the fact that Sheldon is an ENGINEER!!
MR wolowitz
Hahahahaha
Why not? He's the smartest in TBBT.
Fruitloops
@@bcatypical i think he makes fun of Engineers in TBBT
Why didn't she win an Oscar?????
Kenneth Williams because she was not nominated :p
because she ain't WHITE
loveloses I was just going to say because she’s black and keep it equally real.
She wasn't nominated, however Ruth Negga (movie: Loving) was and she certainly isn't white. And even if they were all white, lets not call racism every time you don't agree with the nominees.
is your privilege being threatened?
My favorite scene is when he smashes the restroom signs and he walks off and he says ..."everybody pisses the same color"!!!
From what I read somewhere, that never happened.
@@Lifeinthe808 in the movie it did
yknow that scene is apocryphal right
@@AnvilMAn603 apocrphal ...? what?!
you mean apocryphal?
"Here at NASA, we all pee the same color"

I fell in love with this movie
You going into STEM?
What you all are forgetting is that yeah, He had to make the decision (and he made the 'right' one), once they got in the meeting, and the question comes up "And so when _will_ you have the numbers?" -- that is when he turns to her with a piece of chalk [and a twinkle in his eye] and sez, *"Catherine, will you give it a go?"* What a scene. He knew she was right (about attendance) and 90 seconds later, gives her the opportunity to show 'em all. *What* a scene.
Everyone is talking about the “.... Sir.” Honestly the best part of this scene was the “ No I am not.” 😂
Just watched that scene again your absolutely right it's not just what she said it's how it's said.
This scene, OMG. I can't get enough of it. This whole freakin' movie, I can't wait for it to come out on dvd/blu ray. I NEED IT!!
This movie made me laugh and cry, feel ashamed and proud. Then had me watch it again and again and the emotions in me stay the same. This was a story well worth telling and told with some fine acting, one of my all time favourite movies.
ashamed? why?
@@IrregularPineapples Second class treatment of not white folks.
@@IrregularPineapples I'm assuming ashamed at how awful this country was.
"You are the boss, sir
You just have to act like one"
Girly just snatched ALL our wigs
“You are the boss, you just have to act like one” 🤣
I got chills when she started figuring out launch and landing coordinates in a room full of men
She was very polite not to write the formulae on their foreheads. With a lipstick.
A great movie that finally gave these three women the recognition they so justly deserved. RIP ladies.
Art can actually bring us together more. All colors and creed. We need more of this in the world.
I love all of this film but this is my very favorite clip, the way she pushes her glasses up, after saying , you just have to start acting like one Sir, and the look Kevin Costner gives her is just pure gold
Her statement to the boss - that statement should be mandatory understanding for every parent and supervisor in our nation...mandatory understanding...not just learning....complete understanding....
0:56 hahaha that look on costners face, like it's half compliment half a jab lol
I LOVE "Hidden Figures"; this is my favorite scene. Drop that mic, Taraji P. Henson!!! And Kevin Costner, this is your best role in films!!! Bravo!!!
I would really like to see Taraji and more starring rolls. She has great charisma and screen presence.
She should have won an Oscar!!!
This movie is a win in every way. And I have the utmost respect for all the man and woman in a time of growth and acceptance.
She is my hero! Brains, beauty and guts:) I loved this movie, just brilliant.
You are the Boss you just have to act like one... A masterpiece.
If you haven’t seen this movie you should, it’s great !!! All of these ladies nailed their performances.
This is my job, every single day. Love this scene
I admire this woman and her friends so much, they pioneered for all women to become mathematicians, engineers and computer programmers in a fierce mens' world, and had the added problem of their colour on top of being female. Heroes every one of them.
The look after her sting by Kevin KILLS ME every time😂😂😂
He couldn't deny it tho. She was the best!
Beat me to it. I crack up at Kevin’s expression every time!😂
I keep watching this movie again and again. Every time I watch it feels like the first time.. this movie is epic
You gotta give it to them they played their parts!! ❤️
It just makes me upset that Jim Parson had taken that role in the movie. He did a great job in portraying it, but from watching tbbt its so odd to see.
The movie is near perfect.
I watched this on Disney this morning after watching several clips and this was a very good movie. The entire cast did a good job .
She was really good in this part. Everyone presented their characters well. Really is a good movie.
The best dialogue ever. You are the boss. You just need to act like one....
Thanks For this wonderful movie
she did an awesome job in this movie. should have won an oscar
This was a badass movie. When I was growing up during that time I had no idea about these women until the movie came out. They're good roll models for everyone.
If you had an interest in NASA's history you would know about Katherine G. Johnson. But you didn't and it wasn't some hidden knowledge you needed to dive down into some deep government archive to find a reference of them. Plus the other two women weren't that special but people treat them like they're a mechanic who invented the car from scratch when basically 99% of the heavy lifting was done by true hidden figures.
"And for your information Sheldon does not look down on women, he looks down on everyone." - Mary Cooper.
Now I need to see this movie again and pick up the things I missed.
“Yes sir, you’re the boss. You just got to start acting like one” Great line, iam pretty sure the real lady didn’t say that.
Ahahaha oh my goodness she's such a good actor!!
I luv her character. She is sooo GOOD !!!
I watched this in 2016. (Watched it again tonight). Still a brilliant film
I LOVE her performance! Love the way she pushes her glasses on her nose!
I love this whole movie, but I especially like this scene!
I absolutely love her! She is such a great actress. Loved this film!!
Love this dialog. I wonder if she really said "you just have to act like one" love it.
One of my favorite movies.
I'm not proud of it but I watch many movies in 3-5 minute segments here on UA-cam. I could be wrong but I feel I can get the gist of a movie in what I assume are the best scenes in that movie. This movie, "Hidden Figures" just really looks KICK-A**. I'd love to see the whole thing sometimes.
You wouldn't be the only one. Better than wasting time or money on a theater ticket or a rental. Scope out the movie first than see the ones you like best in their entirety.
Redbox has it.
This movie is epic, priceless, needed, important, choice!! 💛🙏🏼🙏🏾
That was a wonderful movie. I was not aware of any of this during the space age in the 60s
This movie was great. Hey im sure ive heard Sheldon saying being an engineer is beneath him. Lol
Everything about this movie makes me happy.
Her last comment was a mistake. You dont imply that your Boss is not being a boss
when you are begging him to help you.
Yes, exactly. She could simply say: "You are the boss, you can decide this, Sir"; that would be more than enough here.
Well you can flex like that when you’re the only one who can do the math
You are the boss, you just have to act like one..., sir.. 😂😂😂
Just finished watching this hell of a movie. It's a piece of art.
THIS SCENE HERE...YASSSS GIRL HAHAHA
"You just got to act like one!...Sir." **Adjusts glasses**
God she makes me laugh.
“You are sir, you are the boss. You just have to act like one. “ After she said that…The look on Kevin Costner’s face was priceless. That was good acting. Translation: B-- itch, who you talking to??????!!!?????????????????????????!
Excellent writing and performances
Love how she has the push her glasses back up when getting her point across😄😄😄
This is one of the movies I actually own. I got to get it out of storage and watch it again.
This is one of those times where you throw out the lesson of not throwing people under the bus is bad. I love how she just flat out went to the boss and is like "LET ME IN THERE IT IS YOUR CHOICE NOT THIS STUCK UP DUDE NEXT TO ME!" LOL
I really need to watch this movie. Only see it in clips here and there and every single one is great.
Thank you 🙏 Kevin Costner
I have seen this movie twice! Amazing
Shine the light on those that helped get us there.
That last part cracked me up you are the boss but you just have to act like one" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is such a great film.. they couldn't have been a better cast for this movie..
kevin costner I really like this actor . magnificent
I Love her. ❤️❤️❤️ She is my hero.
I love this line “there is no protocol for a woman attending” “there is no protocol for a man circling either sir”
Such a great movie
The casting is incredible
ROTFLMAO. I had never watched this movie till these started turning up in my feed. My wife and I watched the movie this past weekend. We both enjoyed it immensely. Even better knowing it was based on a true story. Three amazing ladies indeed.
That conversation pretty much spot on
You sir you are the boss you just have to act like one .....sir😂😂😂😂😂😂
We really enjoyed this movie. My mom worked at Texas Insturments in the 60's and 70's and there were security ck point throughout the plant.
Love this movie. Takes me back to the time of my youth. See that small black and white car at the TV store? My family had one, a Metropolitan. TV’s were in store windows at that time. Ladies were always dressed up, almost like Sunday clothes. Pants were not available yet, or allowed in school for a long time to go.
The coffee pot, we had a stovetop one, before the electric one came to us, looking like that one in the movie.
Hair was the same for both races, curled, not long and in the face like today.
I took my school’s janitor lady home with me one day after school. All the kids liked her. Only problem with this was it took a lot of persuasion to get her to come. See, I am white, she was “colored.” I was in third grade. We walked to my house together, which the movie showed was a no no,.
Through out the movie I was saying a lot of YESES.
One last thing--remember the blame for the loss of the first capsule on the astronaut? What the movie got not quite right. It sank because a flotation device was not put on this particular capsule. Now go to the pictures around the credits at the end of the movie, look quickly, there is a raft on the bottom of that capsule! It was saved.
Thank you for reading. Judy.
Sydney. You took home the janitor, so she could watch the TV-film with you? Nice. And yeah, one of the early capsules did sunk. I think it was Grissoms. The second one in the serie.
I love this movie. These women put us on the moon.
Nope.
Awesome movie. Laugh, cry and cheer.
She probably sat on his spot that’s why he is mad.
Bazinga!
😂 😂 😂
That is a SICK burn... She is an expert reader.
We all get there together, or we don't get there at all. That is true of going into space and it is also true of humanity evolving and growing.
When your in a room of people always remember someone there is smarter than you. In my case it's probably everybody.
How do you not fall a little bit in love with this woman?
Sheldon hates changes so much that he is character is the same as Sheldon
This scene is out of this world......you sir, you are the boss, you just need to act like one......
sheldon wilding in this one
Cookie still being sassy!😎👌
This is a great movie, well acted, great script. And true.
"You're not gonna let this go, are you?"
Sheldon cooper meets jonathan kent..... i bet his happy lol
After all these years of making fun of Howard for being just an engineer, now Sheldon is also playing an engineer. lol. Truth be told, I am glad, Jim Parsons is able to get some good work from the Sheldon role.
Xxxxx
Crazy that something this monumental happened, while men couldn't get over their pride "hidden figures" indeed!!
You do know majority of these scenes didn't happen right? NASA employed 10,000's of thousands of white men. Many of which won't even get a mention in an article despite without their contributions these 3 women wouldn't be able to do their job or have it. Plus they're not even fully black Katherine G. Johnson was 1/4th black while the other two were 1/2 but mentioning that would ruins people's agenda.
One of the best movies I've seen in a very long time.
You just have to act like one,,, Sir, That woman is awesome.
For me, the word BOSS means not superiority but ownership, rightfulness and priority.
