1:26 I had to look it up, but I think this "Estus" item you're given at the start of the game is for roleplay purposes. After all, everyone gets thirsty. The estus allows you rp drinking.
10:06 Claws and some other weapons actually have it hard coded to really prefer specific infusions. Claws being really good for applying both status effects is their gimmick thanks to this. Also, I wonder how different you'd have felt about bleed if you farmed the Shadow Guantlets off of the Suspicious Shadows in Wharf, it would have added about 30% to your bleed build-up (they have a hidden effect that boosts it a lot more than the menu would imply). Good video :3
Gaia the dragon champion is a yugioh monster made by the polymerisation between Gaia The Fierce Knight and Cursed Dragon and is show on the 5th episode against Weevil, the previous champion of Japan.
Good job! This was quite the Sharp run, I'd just mention that Stone Ring probably could have wrecked, with light fast weapons you stunlock all, and get staggers on bosses quite often, and the Sanctum Soldier Gauntlets also boost Poison and stack with Rat Crest, so a short early Shulva trip could've made things even faster. For wacky DS2 builds, how about Staff only? A lot of things to smack, and Black Witch is triple elemental.
I so appreciate this channel. It seems you're the only one that makes these right nowadays. Good challenges that doesnt try to sell bullshit. No obvious "Can I beat DS2 with a rapier" shit, a real unique idea that Ive actually enjoyed watching through the end.
I actually legit love DSII and I always enjoy watching people do challenge runs. I've never been good enough to beat the game under any kind of handicap, but this video makes me actually want to try this build out. I've never tried power stancing in DS2 so this would be a good excuse to try now. Awesome job as always JK!
Syncing up the music to so many of the attack/action animations in the Ivory King fight was very impressive. Thank you for taking the extra time to give us an even greater video
This is the first Premiere video I have ever watched 😀 So far enjoying it very much, as all other videos! I subbed only recently and have binged all videos already 🤣🤣🤣
I don't know how youtube just didn't tell me about this video a week ago. I'm subscribed and claws are hands down(pun intended) my favorite weapon type in the entire franchise. There's just something about standing 3 inches away from the enemy's face and being fast enough that they can't touch you that's so satisfying.
Great video! I'd also love to see more DSII, there's such a big variety of weapons to choose from in it. Also glad to see I'm not the only one who enjoys Blue Smelter!
I think the reason you have to beat Mytha to ascetic that first Harvest Valley bonfire is that burning the windmill actually drains the poison from directly outside the bonfire. I don't know if they hoped this would obscure that bit of trivia or show it of better, but that's the only link I can think of.
Did you know that you can lock yourself out of killing Freja for one try in vanilla ds2 (never played sotfs)? You can knock each head off (about 75% of her max hp per head iirc) and heal her with warmth. Once both heads are off you can't harm her anymore and need to re enter the fight. It was a great way to troll people as a summon.
I did this challenge inspired by you, man it was tougher than I expected but I had fun and anger in some parts and btw this is one of my favorite videos
This build reminds me of my Pre SOTFS 360 build. Dual DrakeKeeper swords NOT power stanced, with bleed and poison. Alternating left and right swings with maxed out stamina capacity let you get a 10 hit stunlock combo in pvp. Guaranteed bleed and poison with decent sword damage as well. Build also had max HP and carry capacity to mid roll in full Havel's and face tank glass canon builds to death.
8:29, I think the game specifically wants Mytha because she's the final boss of that area. Jabba- I man covetous demon is just a servant to Mytha, so calling him "lord of this region" is a little weird. Every time you put music in your videos, I always get so excited. Your choice of song and editing style always get me hyped!
If you want a fun run try a Grand Lance heavy attack playthrough. You're gonna stagger most humanoids with it if not knock them down (and completely bully Forlorn its fun). But if you miss you're completely vulnerable as you stumble.
You can light your torch at the bonfire for lost sinner, you don't even need to sit down to do it so you can run back after clearing out the area and light the thingies
There's probably an explanation for this in the video and I've probably missed it, but I'll try to ask. Why not going full-phys dmg with Flynn's ring - which is actually good in DS2, especially with fast hitting weapons - and engraved gauntlets? The latter do encrease durability loss from hits, but you could've easily offset it, since repair powder is pretty common in DS2. Years ago I've done a pretty similar run, but with powerstance caestuses and it was a beast that pretty much melted everything in the game. And due to a very unique backstab animation that is shared with bare hands and fist weapons, I thought it would bea great idea to call him Proctologist In any case, great video, great run, found your drake sword run a couple of days ago, instantly subscribed, cuz I need my dose of Souls challenge runs on a daily basis :D
Thanks for this Video. i really enjoy DS2 as a game (maybe my Favorite game) might also think about to start a new run again with the Claws. Maybe as a Video Idea make a full run with the Maidens Ladle ^^
You should do a fist only run in DS2 if you haven’t already. Vanquisher’s ring goes crazy, and you with the covenant you can farm then of invader in front of royal rat vanguard to get it while offline.
Loving your ds2 content. Run I did that was surprisingly fun recently is pyromancy only, you gotta get creative with the routing for that one. Might be fun for you to try
If you like claws, try daggers on DS3: - Dagger for critical hits - Twin Daggers for twice hit raw damage. - Bandits Dagger for bleed. First Dexterity for damage (just sharp Twin dagger, sharp gems are rare). Then reinvest points on Luck after Hollow and Bleed infusion (Hollow Dagger, Hollow Twin Dagger and Bleed Bandit Dagger). Rings: - Boost damage for consecutive hits - Healing for consecutive hits - Extra critical damage - Healing with critical damage. It's my favourite melee build. It's funnier than a just dex build. Piromamcy it's my favourite magic build and actually I'm seeing right now.
I know you are gonna hate this, but the shadow gauntlets dropped by the shadows you were fighting at the very start increase your bleed buildup. Could have been useful down the line :)
You know, for all the weapons and fashion souls potential that DS2 has, I'm shocked to find out there's no Bonewheel shield. Big fan of claws though, could never be bothered grinding to powerstance Malformed Claws either. edit: the Estus slander is appreciated.
This is a pinned comment. Write the word Claw underneath it if you saw a claw in this video

I believe you can lock on to the Lost Sinner in the dark, you just have to be REALLY close
You can you just gotta be close enough to smell her.
yes you can but you lose the lock on really fast as soon it moves
You don't even need to be very close, you just lose it if she moves away too far or jumps. You can just lock back on
1:26 I had to look it up, but I think this "Estus" item you're given at the start of the game is for roleplay purposes. After all, everyone gets thirsty. The estus allows you rp drinking.
That's why the animation is so slow in ds2, immersive roleplay
can't wait to see you claw your way out of this run.

Loved seeing you Claim the throne and declare Marshall Claw.
I got the Gaia The Dragon Champion reference, and that makes me feel old.

These Dark Souls 2 episodes are honestly brilliant, I am curious as to how well the poison claws could do again the dreaded Darklurker?
Criminally underrated channel! Good work keep it up!
