The secret of Elana is that if she has a particular summon out, she won't make that pick again whilst the first version of it is out. So if she summons skeletons and the skeletons are still alive when she goes to summon again, the pool of selections is smaller and she's very likely to pick Velstadt. As such, you want to kill the skeletons as quickly as possible so that they get chosen again.
High-quality and well thought-out content as always. Imo your channel deserves way more attention and recognition, and through persistence I'm sure one day everything will come!
Fun Fact(s): In Vanilla DS2 (not the SOTFS version) the Skeleton Lords actually spawn 4 Bonewheels and 2 less of the big Knight Skeletons. It made this fight actually a little bit more difficult. Just a tiny little bit. Also spiders in DS2 are actually afraid of fire, so if you hold a lit torch in your hand, they run away and don't bother you at all. Yes even during the boss fight.
JK Leeds playing his favorite Souls-game and putting down some mad lines. It's a good friday lol. I actually used a plain old spear throughout my first playthrough of DS2 and used all boss souls for runes to level up. Definitely gonna use some boss weapons the next time around. Thanks for another great video, these are the best kinds.
32:56 yeah dark souls 2 is unique in that, when you hit a boss with a string of attacks, it only shows the damage of the final hit. This is the same for multi-hit attacks. It's weird because when you fight regular enemies, they add the damage dealt within a certain time period, just like the other games. It makes it really difficult to tell hoe much damage you're dealing with things like lightning because those spells are always 2 hits, with the last hit dealing like 5~15% of the damage
Bent Blade has to be my favourite ds2 boss weapon, first time i beat the game it was with a poison build power stancing two of them, with a manslayer in my back pocket as backup. I got really attached to that character, kinda wanna go back and take her through some higher ng cycles now
I'm playing through DS2 for the first time right now, my favorite boss weapon is definitely Nashandra's Scythe simply because scythes are my absolute favorite type of weapons. But the only one I'm using is the Warped Sword, this thing is insane when powerstanced
I love how DS2 provides very wide range of boss items, most of them have different special attacks. My favourite weapon is curved dragon greatsword, I prefer huge weapons but greatswords are very slow, curved greatswords however are very fast. Plus this one has a great ranged attack. I maxed this weapon and finished all dlcs with it.
one random thought, I kind of like the gank squad, I love herding them around and manhandling the archer when he's alone, the only thing I hate about them is the havel, he's just too strong, what I mean is that it's meant to be a snowballing fight obviously, where the more damage you do the easier they get, but once you kill two of them the hardest one remains which kills that feeling
Favorite boss weapon (appearance), chariot lance. cmon, just look at it Favorite boss weapon (gameplay) watcher greatsword, infused with lightning, just try it. so good
My favorite boss weapon has to be the Ivory Straight Sword. It might not be that good but it's such a cool weapon. It's insane how Fromsoft managed to put an actual lightsaber in the game while still not feeling off.
Favorite boss weapon of DS2 was absolutely Blue Smelter Demon’s. While I didn’t fully grasp the ADP thing with the rolls until later on, the Blue Smelter Demon’s boss fight taught me roll timing for the other Souls games, so I found it fitting that such an adversary would be worthy of using his boss weapon!
I love the Whip made from The Demon of Song. Had a build that dual wielded them, surprisingly effective because it did poison buildup naturally, but you can infuse poison to make it like super poison
Favorite boss weapon is definitely the Bewitched Alonne Sword. The moveset and the iconic boss fight with a secret death animation is so good. Not to mention it's unique R2 hits like a TRUCK.
Love this channel! Your comedy is so perfectly dry, it’s wonderful… love the passion you clearly show for the Soulsborne series… But most of all, that Banjo-Kazooie music slaps. Keep up the great work!
In my first DS 2 playthrough my friend told me how to get Chaos Blade. I don't really like katanas in souls-likes, but when I crafted Chaos Blade and start playing with it, I really fell in love with this katana. It has literally everything you need: pretty nice and fast moveset, nice reach and really good counter damage (160 or so). There are so much good things about Chaos Blade so I don't even care about hp draining with every hit
Love dragon rider twinblade. I know it’s nothing really special. But the design and enchantment built in… loved using it no matter how many times I got parried
Duuuude, thank you for linking to the super-dope "samurai" song, just another reminder to myself, and others, that copyright-free music can STILL be a bop! :D
I kinda like dragonroders halberd. Fits quite nicely on quality builds. Both bows are pretty good as well, if you want to use bows. Vendricks ranged sttack is pretty rare, Mythas grab less so. I have almost done similar run, but on ng+, so I just had all weapons from the start. Not sure what I did with spell-only bosses. Darklurkers spell is pretty good, but is slow and costs like 3k on each cast, so higher ng+cycles are better. It also does friendlyfire, so yoy can troll ppl with it!
Super creative idea, another good way to sample the enormous weapon variety this game has to offer. The lack of weapon upgrades I think provides a nice challenge, considering DS2’s bosses are considered to be some of the easiest in the series on average. A lot of these weapons I’ve used plenty of times, such as the Drakewing, FUGS, curved dragon GS, and lightsabers. One I haven’t mentioned is the Loyce Greatsword, as the moveset is completely unique and the sword itself has such a nice look to it. The slightly delayed swings and good range made it perfect for PvP back in the day, but it’s still plenty of fun in PvE thanks to the diverse attacks. Good times. This definitely made me want to try out a lot of these weapons that I hadn’t before. I think a fun thing to try could be power stancing the throne watcher and defender swords, or perhaps the defender sword alongside the thorned greatsword for double lightning. Can we also stop for a moment to appreciate how amazing the lightning buff looks in this game? Definitely the best it’s looked in the whole series, and with super satisfying sound effects on top of that. Glad you had fun with the run, and thanks for the DS2 content!
@@Ghorda9 yeah demon’s souls, DS1, and DS2 are all on the easier end with a few exceptions, it’s hard to say definitively which would be easiest out of these
@@colonelquesadilla5080 DS2 would be the easiest imo. Infinite life gems on top of estus. The amount of mistakes the game allows you to make between bonfire and boss runs is significantly higher.
Great video as always. I tried a few of those my first playthrough but couldn't get on with many of them. I found the warped sword to be great for my dex build though
I really liked your channel for the last few months. After that freestyle I can officially say I now love this channel. Keep the flow and the videos coming.
For the covetous demon I’m pretty sure you can make it kill it’s self by baiting it into those poison pots around the arena. Might be useful for future runs
Did you know lost Sinner and Old Iron king drop different weapons in new game + cycles? Old iron King drops the Old King Soul which can be turned into the dragonslayer greatbow Lost Sinner drops the old Witch soul that can be made into chaos blade
Hey man, congrats! I did something like that, even post it here, but i beat each boss with his own "boss weapon", not including magic except if the weapon was a catalist for it, and when it was a magic, i used one of the many weapons from the list that was considered "boss weapon" also , i did all bosses, even darklurker, but i was at soft-cap from the get-go and access to all weapons previously, so yours is a legit way to it. Again, Congrats!
King's ultra great sword has amazing one-handed move set. But I get that with limited stats and 50 str requirement for one handed use we couldn't have experienced spuch luxury. (Still one handed move set is really good and actually fast)
Actually you can fight Giant Lord from the ledge as a melee character too and that's how I prefer to do it usually. Also that's how I beat him with only my left hand once, when smth happened with the right one
I have to go for the Drakewind ultra gs. Quite fast for a greatsword, nice ranged special attack that does insane damage if used from up close. Plus it looks really cool.
no doubt my most favorite boss weapon is the dragonrider bow. it helped me alot against tanky enemies specially on ng 2 etc. i can cheese them with poison arrows plus it deals a decent damage.
Dragonslayer Spear, Gargoyle Bident, Roaring Halberd, love those weapons. Though I am quite partial to the Spitfire Spear, even though its damage output is underwhelming.
The content and jokes were on point as usual! Would you consider the DS3 version of this challenge? I think Iudex Gundyr and Vordt are the only bosses you’d need to clear beforehand. Looking forward to the next video!
My fav I think, lost sinner's sword. Currently farming Giant Lord with that sword. +5 dark enchanted with 40/40/20 str/dex/fth desinegrates ng 8+ Lord (currently bonfire at 17) with 16 twohanded R1s (ah, yes, with dark weapon hex buff). Next to try - Chaos Sword, just a few dragonbones to +5. And yeah, maybe my fav will be one of watchers sword, but I don't kill them yet.
I was like "Why is he doing this the long way?" But remembered the Solider Key was needed for Pursuer. So yeah Dragonrider then Pursuer was not an option.
