Mine was disappointing. Got it just before Christmas. Firstly it arrived with a different colour strap to the one I ordered, got a £10 refund for that. Secondly the minute counter for the chronograph started to reset to the 10 minute mark rather than top dead center. Eventually got a refund in full, which was fair enough though disappointing considering all the good reviews I'd seen.
One highlight of the year for me was the coming together of the watch community during the channel deletion debacle. It showed the good feeling and mutual appreciation of all the hard working channels out there
Loved seeing the channel grow and evolve over 2021. You've had a great year - and I hope 2022 sees the channel continue to showcase your passion for watches to ever greater audiences. All the best.
Thank you for sharing what makes up Dan's world. Just remember: kids grow up fast. Good memories of family and friends are what counts. Watches are just a distraction to balance out our more serious concerns. I've never heard of a man on his death bed saying I should have bought the Patek, Lamborghini, etc. Just one more day with my loved ones is more typical. All the best. You are the real deal.
Dear Dan, Thank you and congratulations mate. You have done amazingly well this year and have so much to be proud of 🙏👏 I absolutely love your videos, content and perspective. Im so looking forward to all that you will surely achieve in 2022. Lastly, and more importantly, thank you for your honesty, integrity, and hard work ethic. You are a class act my friend. As for your analysis and observations in this video, I'm in complete agreement. BTW, I absolutely love my Escapement Time white dial GS homage, I love it so much that I'm buying the blue and possibly yellow dial versions. Sorry this is so long, but thank you again, and all the best for your and your family in 2022. Cheers 👍 👏 🙏
Felo, thanks again for your ongoing kindness, support and words of encouragement. I always appreciate your kindness mate. All the best, and enjoy your many watches! See you in the next one.
As always Dan a very fair well considered and thoroughly honest review of some of the stand out watches of the past year. These simple but so important attributes are pretty much your trade mark so no wonder then that companies are reaching out to you to review their products. Long may it continue I for one will be looking forward to watching your channel in 2022 which should be the year you achieve the magic 10K and thoroughly deserved
You know what, you're one of my favorite reviewers exactly because you're honest. In the world of everyone lying and building fake personas so easy on social media, honesty is a breath of fresh air tbh Hope you have an even great 2022 mate
Simply put . . . Thanks, Dan, for your channel. I have thoroughly enjoyed both your reviews and your mods. In fact, you, Zeb (The Watcher), and Pete (Chillin wit Watches) are mentors of sorts for my modding journey . . . which means I blame you 3 for my 10 watch builds so far and counting! And every time I think I’m done, you load another mod video 😁👍!! I look forward to what you have in store for 2022. Happy New Year!!
That's so nice to hear Cecil! Its great to hear we have inspired and helped others out there. Its all part of what makes this so rewarding. Thanks for your continued support, happy new year!
There’s no doubt you will up your game even more next year, Dan. You and Jason (who I saw commenting here) are my favorite watch guys. Why? Regular guys with positive vibes. Which impresses me more than say, fellow Dutchman Nico Leonard, who likes to diss peoples watch collection for some reason. Works for him but I can’t watch it. I can do without the drama, thank you very much. Thank you for your channel and being the authentic you. Have a great 2022!!
Your 'coming of age' (10K subs) in this channel is a massive achievement! A big CONGRATS and THANK YOU Dan! We look forward to your passionate sharing in all things watches in 2022. Well done, great job and Happy New Year!
I'm sure all of us watch UA-camrs can relate to what you said in the first part of this video. Like I always say, "too many watches, not enough time". But we are in a privileged possible to have that kind of a problem, so we can't really complain too much.
You have sold me on the RLG blue dial. I just could not take it off ever since I got it. I'll pick another color without thinking if they release a new version.
Makes you wonder if they do it on purpose knowing exactly what is wrong, selling them anyway and then quick fixing knowing exactly what is wrong. Seems a bit suspect that they fix them so quickly. Just a thought.
Congrats on the channel growth. You are doing great work on here, great personality, very interesting. I received my ET KS homage with the beautiful blued second hand today. I also have the ET flieger chronograph. Both fantastic watches. This is a seriously good microbrand. Unbelievable quality. I could not be happier. Here's to many, many more subscribers in 22!
I always look forward to your videos Top Notch for sure Don't ever change your unique approach to watch reviews and your mod videos are some of my favorites Here's to a prosperous 2022 my friend 👍
Have only discovered you in the last couple of months as i reignited my interest in watches again due to lockdowns but have really enjoyed your content and look forward to my little bell going off with one of your new vids. Have already bought one of your recommendations that I was well pleased with. Keep up the great content and have a great New Year.
Your spot on with Pagani Design. Im not gonna entertain them anymore. The last three i have purchased have been a major letdown, the 'tiffany' oyster had a major flaw in the watch case where it had a very noticeable deep line on the case lugs. It caught my eye everytime i looked at the watch so i wont wear it anymore.! I need to get some sandpaper to buff it out. The speedmaster had razor sharp edges on the underneath of the watch case that i had to file down not to mention soon after the grey dial came out. The blackbay PD before that got sent back because it arrived with a stuttery miyota second hand that was really bad... and the prices are sky rocketing lately. So im done, no more Pagani for me.!! 👋😪⌚
Excellent review of your year... I hoped to see once again the orange dial mod you did on the San Martin... But since I purchased it from you I guess I was just being greedy.. I can report the watch is doing great and has pride of place in my collection..All the best for 2022 and when you hit 10,000...I look forward to seeing this happen... Incidentally, I do think the Rotary you showed at the end is stunning..
I love your channel. The reviews with a bit of humor are entertaining, but also very informative. Your mod episodes are the best I've seen so far. I'm looking forward to another great year in 2022.
I’ve really enjoyed watching the content on your channel during the year. I’m sure you will definitely grow the channel from 10K during 2022. Wishing you and yours a Happy New Year!
Good job Dan!👏🏼 Regarding Pagani, I’ve not had one issue with the 4 I’ve bought over the last few years. Was wearing my Pepsi “R” homage a few days ago. I did buy the Tactical Frog V2 which also is hard to fault. Maybe you just got a couple of bad batches?🤭 I agree re Baltany watches! Beautifully made especially their military models. Seestern I will have to look more closely at. All the best for 2022 mate!🍻🇦🇺👍🏼
A massive congrats Dan on an awesome year of Reviews and Mods!! In what's been a tough year again, it's a real highlight when I see a video of yours drop on UA-cam! Thanks for your honest, quirky and fun videos!! Good luck for 2022. I can't wait to see your 10k sub surprise :)
You forgot Cronos pilot watch,39mm,pt5000 movement, dome crystal ,good finishing and beautifuly made,I bought 2 the blue and black dial. Congratulations with the 10.000 subs ;)
I just bought a strap from you for my Escapement Time yellow dial... nice job! Wow, didn't know about the tiffany.... oh well, just when I thought I was done with Aliexpress lol. (I also bought 2 of those Addiesdive quartz subs - 1 for me and 1 for my brother - cant believe the quality and specs for the price).
Lol ... already got a San Martin, Lorus Lumibrite, Orient Kamasu and Casioak this winter - eyeing a Citizen World time GMT and the Seestern 300T homage and the Octopus Kraken bronze Oris homage ... plus a Seamaster homage, Speedmaster homage and the Baltany 'dirty dozen' homage on my 'to get' list .... are you really adding more to my wishlist - like the Accurist 😉
Great video, thanks. Feels like you listen too to your subscribers. As you reach 100k next year might be harder to keep the welcoming vibr around this channel. If I may, 100 plus quid watches are great but I for one and think many others love those from 20 to 50. Embrace the digital :)
I own many Pagani's and enjoy them but I too haven't bought one lately and think they need to sort things out before coming out with new models. In my opinion stick to their niche and make money by volume sales. Lower their prices back down a bit, stick with NH35 or equivalent movements and improve 1) the lum and 2) the QC and consistency.
@@watchmewithwatches I see a couple of Pagani's that looks wise have tempted and interested me (Speedy and zeameister - to paraphrase) but then i watch the reviews find out about the issues and pause ... they could have sold me two watches but they need to sort it out first. I recall sub $100USD Pagani's (in the sales) that were called 'spec monsters' and 'best value for money' but expectations have changed (as you pointed out) with many brands in the same price bracket with better QC and quality. They need to watch some reviews (and multiple reviewers need to get in touch with them) because online (UA-cam) is largely what drove their sales to current levels and continued bad reviews could drive them in the opposite direction.
@@karlsenula9495 I agree, but they have the common sense to research their consumers and the people who promote their products enough to recognise a pattern of unhappiness. Because I ripped into the GS homage they did, I can't shift it on ebay, but I would rather someone buys it knowing what to expect than lie!
Keep being honest with the reviews, if the watch companys come back to you after a bad review then tell us as I think it's a good sign of a quality watch brand.happy new year from carl from cov.ps put my seiko king turtle to the side and proudly wearing my casio databank Christmas present ,what ever makes you happy at the moment in time.
Well said, honesty above all. I'm about purchasing a automatic watch. After watching your video, I definitely will put aside chinese brands. Regards. Happy New Year's!!!
Great end of year review Dan. Enjoy your honest reviews and agree with you on Pagani Design, overpriced and poor quality. I’ve avoided buying the San Martin BB58 on the basis of your experience. Interesting point about magnetised movements, I checked all my watches recently and found several had issues. Looking forward to to more reviews in 2022, really good channel and excellent watch straps from your eBay store.
Excellent video mate! Glad to have seen your channel grow so much this year to almost hit 10k 👏. I thought I was alone on having to balance out a full time job, parenthood, friends, family and a very time-consuming (but how enjoyable) channel. I'm glad to see I'm not 😂👍
You aren't alone mate, its hard work but worth it. Like anything good in life! Just keep at it and get 1% better in every video. 100 videos later and you are making real progress.
Hi Dan, it’s been a great year watching your videos. You are all ways honest with your reviews be they good or not so good, and your modding is making me want to scratch the itch so 2022 might turn out to be a itchy year. Enjoy the new year with your family catch up with you on your next video Before I forget 10k is just over the horizon and well deserved 👏👏
Great recap! Keep it up, sir. It's interesting that you compare Cadisen favorably to Pagani Design; I suspect they're the same company or perhaps share a distributor or factory. I've noticed some other reviewers receiving PD straps with Cadisen watches, for instance, and while you can easily track down the mailing address of Cadisen or Guanqin, I couldn't find any kind of mailing address for PD, making me wonder if it's a product line rather than an actual brand. I believe the Koue would be pronounced with each vowel sounded out. All Japanese vowels are at the front of the mouth, like Spanish. Source: I live in Japan.
Thanks Michael, interesting ideas about pagani and cadisen, not sure if they are the same company, but if they are, the cadisen team are better at quality control!
I returned two out of four Pagani designs so far. It’s 50/50 to me so far. Based on my experience overall, Invicta is a better watch and a better company at the time being.
Couldn't agree more about Pagani Design. They have become quite complacent in terms of they offer for the money. They rush out just a lot of different watches. Instead of improving build quality like many other Chinese brands do they are taking the wrong route.
Heimdallr did a V2 monster that was months late, then weeks later did a v3 with black hands because the silver hands on the V2 didn't look great. I had preordered the V2 months in advance and I was absolutely livid when The Watcher broke the news. Get it right first time, indeed.
Lol yeah I wish I held out for the tactical frog version three if I waited two weeks I would’ve been able to get that but I’m good with my version two and I think that the end links are extra thick so that it fills in the gap because there’s usually a gap between the bottom of the lug and the first link and that’s like dead air between your skin and the band so I’m OK with that. But yeah I have absolutely no use for feet decompression times I would prefer the version 3 60 minute timer that would be awesome I refuse to call anything “Tiffany blue” lol it will always be aquamarine to me and it’s a bad ass colour because Don Johnson wore sport jackets this colour in Miami Vice and he always took care of a few drug dealers on every episode so ;-)
watch me with watches My first Pagani the PD1639 movement was cactus after a month and it sat in the draw for three months until I started watching your vids. Gathered the tools and followed your tips, then put in a new NH35 and swapped the MB hands to snowflake. The seconds hand took about six hours to fit (in one hour blocks😃 ). Working well great garden beater however I did scratch the dial. Currently, I bought the BERNY AM128M sub homage for $100 AUD, with NH35. Swapping black dial for orange and Monster style hands. Will christen it BEIKO or SERNY, if i can get that bloody seconds hand on, thanks mate👍
Time travelling watch - that was funny as hell. I bought a Addiesdive for my birthday but my parcel got opened (stolen watch) somwhere on the way to me so i got a empty parcel - no watch.
@@watchmewithwatches Thanks. I hope to get the money back but i had preferred to have the watch. Looks great and a quartz i very nice - makes it a perfekt beater. Maybe i order it again but this was my third time i had problem with my order from Ali (first time stolen) so i am now not in ordering mode so to speak. Bought around 27 watches this year so i have some timepieces to wear.
I have learned a lot from your channel. You mentioned that you had problems winding a watch movement pt5000. Apparently this issue with the keyless works binding up is a common problem with this movement. I have ordered an Escapement Time vintage homage model that uses this movement. Should I run into this issue do you believe it would be hard to replace this movement with a new pt5000 movement? I have seen them for sale on Aliexpress for as little as 55 dollars. I have some experience installing movements but not with the the pt5000. Would it be worth it to buy a Sellita SW200 and install that into the watch when the pt5000 bites the dust(if it does). In my experience, some Chinese watch movements are notoriously hit or miss when it comes to how long they last or how durable they are. The PT5000 is still new and they don't seem to have ironed out the kinks yet.
Nice roundup and good reviews. Was interested to hear your comments on the PT5000 rotor sticking. I’ve got the same issue with my new Phylida NTTD. Cracking watch in all respect except the rotor also sticks when hand winding. Did you get an exchange from San Martin?
I don’t like the PT5000 . It’s way to hard to wind. I purchased a matic with a pt5000 . Would not wind after only 8 days. Sent it back. Seller was great about it on eBay. Give me a miyota 9015 instead
I've got the SM 600mtr and I can't stand it. Came with a knackered movement that they refused to do anything about. Had to buy another NH35 and fit it myself. Everytime I look at it I get annoyed!
Good to see you just being yourself on a video nowadays - I’m so glad you stopped that ‘Tourette’s’ style presenting - your videos are much more relaxed and watchable now
Lol, I thought I would copy the mad watch collector as his channel was growing so fast, and I do have a quirky side, so thought that might work. Turns out it was a silly idea. 😜
What would like to know is what did San Martin do about the Black Bay homage watches that you had all the problems with. You didn't say. Was their after sales service good?
Hi Andrew. I opened the dispute via aliexpress. The Aliexpress san martin manager asked me to close the dispute (without a resolution). He accused me of not knowing how to use the watch, and the things I say on my channel are not acceptable and can damage their business! I kept the dispute open, and stood my ground to return the watch (covered for free by aliepxress returns) and I did get a full refund. Long story short. If you know there is a genuine issue, keep the dispute open, and you will be looked after.
@@watchmewithwatches Very disappointing customer service from San Martin I have two of their watches, without issues, bought because of their good reputation. If a company wants repeat business they must provide good customer service. Your treatment sounds rubbish especially as San Martin is in the lower tier Swiss price league.
The PT5000 seems to be a VERY 'hit and miss' movement. Obviously QC issues abound, even with the HK branded ones (San Martin esp.). There are other chinese 'clones' of this movement. How did you actually get on with SM customer service regarding the issues you had with the two BB58 watches you bought? Other than the PT5000, the watches seem very well made. I guess the Sellita may be a better option, but significantly more expensive. Your thoughts?
@@watchmewithwatches Agreed the SW200-1 has a much longer history of relative reliability (if you don't wind them too much), but you haven't answered my key query regarding SM's customer service in regard to your issues with TWO PT5000 powered BB58 homages. Generally SM watches are very well made for the money, but an internet search of their aftersales service gives a very mixed bag of results, which is a little concerning. For me, the Sellita powered version would give me a little more 'peace of mind' but at nearly $200 USD more, is it really worth it? $456 is a lot to pay. BTW I have a Pagani Design BB58/PELAGOS homage with the black and gilt dial and red bezel, with upgraded case finishing from their 'earlier' version. I love it! The bezel does have minimal backplay, but that's is totally irrelevant to me. It is running at around +2 seconds per day. It could be a little thinner and lighter with a ceramic bezel, but other than that it's an excellent timepiece.
@@grahamyoung622 I did get it resolved in the end. Wasn't the best customer service though. It was difficult to make very clear there was an issue, and kept explaining that I'm wasn't being an idiot with the watch.
You've just cost me £70, going to have to go and buy one of the Escapement times now. Good round up mate, all the best for the new year!
You too Jason, I think you will like it mate!
Flipping love mine, you won't be disappointed. But what colour?
Just received mine today. You will not be disappointed. Love your channel. Cheers!

I'm actually surprised the van banner didn't make it into the best review. That was a cool looking watch with actuall practicality

The San Martin had a dry reverse wheel stem. It happened to me. The PT 5000 is a great movement when lubricated correctly, but they can have issues
It's a shame they don't come appropriately lubed, would reduce the risks somewhat.

Well said mate! Couldn't agree more
@@watchmewithwatches I see a couple of Pagani's that looks wise have tempted and interested me (Speedy and zeameister - to paraphrase) but then i watch the reviews find out about the issues and pause ... they could have sold me two watches but they need to sort it out first.
I bought a pagani Pd 1661. It look perfect, but the bezel wobbles deeply, looks like it has a spring and it’s meant to do it
Great end of year review Dan.
Thank you so much!
Honesty always pays mate good luck for 2022
Another thing that let me down about the San Martin BB 58 blue homage was the dark unreadable numbers on the bezel. The Tudor isn't like that.
Congratulations, It is a good Channel, I'm waiting for the review of the Cadisen 8200 😍😍😍
Hi, im working on that right now! Won't be too long.
Thanks Dan, good year watch-wise, have a Happy New Year 🥳🍻👍
Thanks Steve, all the best and Happy New Year!
Great vid man love it
Hi Dan, it’s been a great year watching your videos. You are all ways honest with your reviews be they good or not so good, and your modding is making me want to scratch the itch so 2022 might turn out to be a itchy year.
Enjoy the new year with your family catch up with you on your next video
Before I forget 10k is just over the horizon and well deserved 👏👏
Keep up the good work, I enjoyed your 2021 videos, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with next year 👍
Keep up the good work! ⌚ ⌚ ⌚
I will try my best!
Great going, keep it up!
Great presentation!
Thanks! Much appreciated.
Happy New Year!
We appreciate your honesty. Tiffany blue the colour Kenndy jr wore ar JFKs funeral and juniors return soon. You deserve way more subscribers
Thats very kind of you to say. I'm excited about offering more content that gets lots of views. Thats the priority!
But yeah I have absolutely no use for feet decompression times I would prefer the version 3 60 minute timer that would be awesome
I refuse to call anything “Tiffany blue” lol it will always be aquamarine to me and it’s a bad ass colour because Don Johnson wore sport jackets this colour in Miami Vice and he always took care of a few drug dealers on every episode so ;-)
Отличная рубрика 👍
Great video, keep up the good work 😈😈
Thank you 😊
Great fair dinkum reviews and due to your excellent tutelage I have gone down the mod rabbit hole👍🤣
Awesome! What mod have you done?
watch me with watches My first Pagani the PD1639 movement was cactus after a month and it sat in the draw for three months until I started watching your vids.
@@anthonyodwyer3261 those darned seconds hands are a bitch!
Estimado, muy bueno el vídeo, saludos 👍
Time travelling watch - that was funny as hell. I bought a Addiesdive for my birthday but my parcel got opened (stolen watch) somwhere on the way to me so i got a empty parcel - no watch.
Oh man, that sucks. Such a shame, sorry to hear that 😞
@@watchmewithwatches Thanks.
Vostok to review, just saying ?
Hi, in the end I kept the dispute open (otherwise its hard to get a refund etc) then aliepxress processed the full return and refund.
Got the first like on this one!
I don’t like the PT5000 . It’s way to hard to wind. I purchased a matic with a pt5000 . Would not wind after only 8 days. Sent it back. Seller was great about it on eBay. Give me a miyota 9015 instead
Hiya. Greats vids. How do you fancy doing a mod for me and filming it?
Hi, one day I think it is something I could do confidently, but not quite yet.
I've got the SM 600mtr and I can't stand it. Came with a knackered movement that they refused to do anything about.
Had to buy another NH35 and fit it myself. Everytime I look at it I get annoyed!
Thats such a shame! Not nice to be annoyed when looking at your watch.
Taking notes 😂
The sellita is great actually, I've had one for years in my Oris, and thats still running within COSC!
It could be a little thinner and lighter
with a ceramic bezel, but other than that it's an excellent timepiece.
@@grahamyoung622 I did get it resolved in the end. Wasn't the best customer service though. It was difficult to make very clear there was an issue, and kept explaining that I'm wasn't being an idiot with the watch.
Do you have a gaming channel?
Nope, just this one keeps me busy!
