So the person has been stalking me for three days? They know where I live, where I visit and probably know the routers I take? 3 days is a long time. What’s the difference between 3 days and 7 days?

just imagine if someone stealing your stuff (which you have airtagged) had an iphone with them.. the unwanted airtag alert would immediately alert them and they would just throw the airtag away..
3 days gives you sufficient time to find your stolen stuff before the person stealing noticed there is an airtag

I see this product being more of a problem than a solution because Life is way more precious than objects. If you lose a bag, your bike or your car, you can get another one but the experience of being stalked, harassed, kidnapped or assaulted or even losing your life is just tragic. This is sad and scary. And… again we see how women are more vulnerable 😤 can’t we just live in peace?
You know tracking devices have existed for decades right? This isn’t new, and no we’re not going to abandon a good idea just because it can sometimes be used for bad. Also nice excuse to bring up women ☕️

The whole point of this is to avoid theft, so this is basically gonna make this half way useless
It's concerning that the battery can't be disabled remotely. My daughter got a notice on her phone and can't find it anywhere. The play sound feature worked 2x and no longer is an option for some reason. She had her car checked by a mechanic and they didn't find anything but the notice would not leave her phone. She finally had to reset her phone to factory settings to get rid of the notification. This is bad technology and everyone at apple says something different.
So you mention that Apple is better than similar trackers at alerting us to possible stalking, but the piece sound like we should be wary of (only?) AirTags.

kind of difficult, actually. the outer housing is the sound component, so you'd have to remove the housing. i'm not sure if you can separate the transducer from the motherboard, but if so, it might be a way around needing to remove the shell.

My mom told me she’s been getting this notification every time she take the truck out instead of her sedan. Very scary
Check for an air tag under or around the license plate. Or around the truck where someone can easily place it. Someone might have put it there to stalk you. I started YouTubing it after watching a Tik Tok. Hope that helps and disable the location on your moms phone?

Definitely recommend you get her an Apple Watch with cellular data (I think most major carriers charge $5-$10 per month for it) that way she can always keep the watch silent/you can always see her location in the “Find My” app. I don’t know how old your child is but in the event she’s not allowed to wear an electronic app, she can always keep the watch hidden in her backpack and you’re still able to see her location.
APPLE are a smart bunch of people ... Why haven't they built into this device, a Mechanism that makes the AIR TAG reveal the users. They should render the mechanism 'unusable' until you somehow identify yourself before attaching it to something. Perhaps an open panel where you have to 'retina scan' or 'finger print access' the AIR TAG before it starts working! This would be helpful if it is misused, for instance if an ex boyfriend tracks his former girlfriend and murders her .... It can trace the Tracker back to him. Hopefully these Tags keep a record of all the places it has tracked to.🇬🇧👍🏾

It has no any sense till we have another air tags available. In other words it's no matter if Apple air tags has sound warning or not, because if someone wants to trace another person they going to use a galaxy air tag by default.

Well, you are basically screwed if you don't have an Apple iPhone with 14.5 or higher to help detect the airtag. Also, the stalking warning does not always work.
I turned all my airtag sounds off. It just tracks my bags or vehicle and I know where everything is.

I believe someone has put an airtag on my car as Ive heard thatexact sound on and off the past week or so, and I only just found out that its an air tag sound. Now im freaked out. How the hell am i supposed to find it? I dont have an iphone, and if its an airtag, the battery has probably died by now

You do know that Apple isn’t the only one who created this, right? Tile is a similar tracker that’s been around for quite a long time. Also, Apple “re(invented)” the smartphone which is how non-Apple multitouch screen smartphones exist today so I don’t think you’d agree that would be a stupid invention.
