I have DJd with iems for years now, it's great for late at night only problem is if you use a pioneer controller like the ddj1000 there is no split cue function which would be absolutely great and i would find mixing a lot easier with SC thus you need to get used to monitoring with the headphone volumes

In ear monitors split into the headphone jack on the pioneer. I am misunderstanding what you're sayin?

@@NonnyStrikes you don't understand split cue. It's not available on the 1000. It's a setting that allows you to Monitor on the left channel with the out signal in your right. The loudness can be balanced on the 1000 but you will hear it in Stereo. You can train your ear to deal with this, but I find I'm not mixing as accurately if its late at night and I'm only using in ears like this. Split cue makes it easier.

@@ThisDJ808 Oh cool! Thank you for taking the time to explain it! I've only been working with ddj800 for 5 months. I didn't know there was a thing called "split-cue". It seems very useful though! Thanks again! Cheers!

@@NonnyStrikes yeah it's not on the 800 either but it's on the 400 and other lower end models which is annoying. I think it's on the XZ too as well as the DJM mixers. It's really cool for late at night but yeah, you can get similar utility by training your ears and using the loudness of the earphone monitor v output but it's not quite the same. No problem explaining it mate 👍

@@ThisDJ808 That is super annoying haha! I code a little bit though, if I figure out a way to implement it on any version, i will let you know.

I can't tell you how much time i've spent understanding frequencies, delays, eq, positioning, for sound system at work the past couple months.
I've finally got it down for "our" club. I say that because so many people think they can go anywhere and apply the techniques to any equipment.
Truthfully the fundamentals, usually provide enough for future systems, but I imagine when you come across people running monitors that are too loud/quiet, they just don't know what they're doing. Any place I go to from now, I'm going to be there hours prior to learn their mixing board and how they view it.
