Personally I like seeing all the kit your using, so keep doing it. I'm not a massive fan of macaroni, and can't think of anything worse than having a cheesy cranny 🤣
A four season inner for your Lanshan 2 is definitely a good investment for winter camping …. I saw a 20F temperature rise from the outside when I went out in freezing temperatures …. Made a heck of a difference with very little condensation problems …. Nice video thanks for sharing your equipment testing 👍👍

If you want a bag for worst case winter take the in-laws scenario I would recommend an aether85 as I’ve used one for 4 years now. In practice the weight of the bag is offset by the luxury of the ag system. Not one for the gram weenies but in real life then load carrying system outweigh thegrams. I enjoy my lanshan 2 very much too but impressed you take it out this time of year. The breeze thru all that mesh annoys me in the colder months. Thanks for the vid, always interesting to see what you’re looking at. I’ll hold fire on that mat mind😂
I really enjoy your reviews so would hope that you keep doing them. I've found that I have a similar budget and expectations for gear as yourself so your previous reviews have been very helpful. Keep up the great work, mate 👍
Great video Ben, I also love seeing the new gear that you try out. In fact i tend to search for new gear reviews. A question though on the Permissive sites that you use, I notice a lot of the You Tubers have these sites available to them. How do you go about identifying the Landowner? and then do you just simply knock on their door and ask permission? I always imagine Farmers and Landowners asking "what's in it for me". I'm wondering if people pay some kind of "rent" to camp on private land?. I know of a local wood to me that would be ideal to camp, but the fact that it's fenced off, suggests its private land. I don't have the first clue how to find who would owns the woods and then how to go about obtaining permission. Thanks, Alan.
I love having a nosey at your gear, keep the reviews and tours coming please 😁 I have that sleeping pad, but I've not been out with it yet. I'm relieved that it seems OK. Another great video chum, thank you 👌🏼

This kind of camp seemed to be perfect for a gear tour and review, so keep doing them. I was hoping the sleep mat was going to be a bit more on the budget side TBH. As you said, if they could get it under £100 then it would be more attractive. At £128 it is perhaps too close to big brand sleep mats with long warranties and good reputations for replacing / repairing gear without hassle. Great vid. Loved the bit where you dropped the bag twice. I’m easily amused… Hmmm so that mat. Maybe one to think about. Never heard of that brand before. I say keep going with the kit yours. People generally like all that. Cheers guv. 🤛🏻
I have this pad but branded as Naturehike. The problem with it is an interesting one in that it has little support / structure to it. I have a Nemo Tensor as well and if I pump them both up to the most that my Flextail pump will (so that they’re at the same pressure) and then press down on them with my hand, I only have to press down a little on the Nemo before I feel resistance. With this pad, there’s no resistance and my hand will go all the way down to the floor. If you’re a back sleeper, the distribution of weight is enough to prevent that, but anytime I roll I’ll bottom out. I don’t recommend this pad for this reason.
You won’t get the same pressure that way. You’re only testing the resistance on the valve vs the strength of the pump. I found the valve quite strong and the Flextail gave up while there was still plenty of room left for more air.
Lighttour is an OEM for naturehike, understand? The manufacturer is Lighttour, due to the low price behavior of some sellers, they sold out the inventory and it ended

Chose this pad over a Nemo Tensor, which is the only inflatable pad officially distributed in my part of the world. The distributor here doesn’t offer pad replacements on warranty so I ultimately decided the premium price wasn’t worth it. If I lived in the US or Europe tho I would choose Exped/Nemo/S2S

Hi, great vid as always. How do you find the pack being black? I’ve got a few 5.11 packs that are black and they are very dark inside, obviously. I’m currently looking at osprey atmos ag65, not sure wether to get green or black. The green is a bit shinier than military green. Also looking at getting the light tour mat.
Yesss💪, finally,a test of the pad. Do you find the dimensions of it inflated to be accurate? I have read some reviews on AliExpress where people stated that the pad was shorter than listed(it's the same pad, just under Naturehikes name). Also how does it compare in terms of comfort to your Exped? Does it come even close? Personally I'm considering either the Lighttour or the Nemo Tensor (am saving up for the Tensor, there is so much hype about it), but am concerned about the comfort of the pad.
Just checking to be sure.. I'm about to buy the Exped 5r ultra. From your comments here and previous review, you're still happy to recommend it? Seems like the best sleeping pad deal around at 145 quid
In over 40 years of lugging a pack about, I've never heard the top of the pack called the 'brain' before. Just goes to show you're never too old to learn a new trick or terminology.
Brilliant Ben, yeh keep the gear thing but just a quick mention to the usual suspects then a bit more on any new kit, I vacuum pack my pot snacks now, bags are tougher and take up less space, I just make them up in a collapsible cup, mat looks good but think your right about price point, also sounded very flimsy ? Anyway really enjoyed it mate, even had the wife laughing and she's just out of hospital after having 2 sections of her left lung removed, keep em coming mate 👍👍
Cheers Mick, yeah I try to keep the ‘gear tours’ short as mostly it’s the same stuff. The mat seems good, just needs a few more tests to build confidence in it I reckon 😆 Hope the mrs is recovering well mate 👍
Always good to see new kit as I think everyone heads to UA-cam specifically for this reason for everything. That sleep pad looks good. The crinkly sound and the price is the one thing that put me off ever getting a thermarest. This looks like a good replacement, and like you said you don’t put a price on sleep. Multi day camps on poor sleep is miserable
Nice video mate! I'm curious, how did you go about finding a camping spot with permissions? Did you look online, or go knocking on farmhouse doors?? I go wild hammock camping in woodland at least once a month (welcome to join btw!), and have a number of spots that I frequent, but having a spot with permission would be a big bonus. Do they charge you? Cheers!

Just checking to be sure.. I'm about to buy the Exped 5r ultra. From your comments here and previous review, you're still happy to recommend it? Seems like the best sleeping pad deal around at 145 quid
Yes definitely recommend.
Need the gear reviews for us troops just starting out!
In over 40 years of lugging a pack about, I've never heard the top of the pack called the 'brain' before. Just goes to show you're never too old to learn a new trick or terminology.
As an old school camper it is so good to hear dimensions in imperial measurements.
Keep doing the gear tours.
Gear reviews from 'real people ' such as yourself are invaluable; as you were please. Thank you very much 😁👍
Btw, how tall are you?
5’11’’.

Thank you, it's how I judge tent inners as I find it more reliable than some manufacturer's figures.
It’s all about the gear
Need a gear your new products to show is essential 👌
Thanks for the vid 👍
No problem 👍
Always good to see new kit as I think everyone heads to UA-cam specifically for this reason for everything.
That sleep pad looks good. The crinkly sound and the price is the one thing that put me off ever getting a thermarest. This looks like a good replacement, and like you said you don’t put a price on sleep. Multi day camps on poor sleep is miserable
Definitely. I've got high hopes for this mat. Just hoping it holds up over time. Thanks for watching mate 👍
@@daleyoutdoors always mate. I like your videos.
Hi, did you get this mat from a UK distributor or an American one please?
It's from Collins Outdoors
"Tube Stake". Really, *no-one* spotted that? Hilarious.
Cheers!
