As an owner of a 2023 GRC im supper happy. The check engine light came on mine with a weird code involving the breaking system but later found out it was a waste gate "issue" of some sort. The dealer fixed it and updated the ecu software. When the error code popped the car didn't display any noticeable symptoms at all. Overall solid. BTW im still 100% sock*
Love watching the GR videos. Enjoy seeing the mods and the feedback you provide after adding any mods. I got my CE in October 2023 and have about 9k miles on it. I only have an AWE Track Exhaust on it, but no issues outside of a weird toyota app glitch that says I need an oil change at all times even after a reset. I also had some weird lateral play in my e-brake from the day I bought the car, it was replaced under warranty but the new one they installed is just marginally better haha. Thanks for the consistent GR content, looking forward to more.
I saw in a clip that you went to ViR! I spent some time there myself, great Track. I enjoy these cars and I like how honest you are bro! Keep it up! Got A Sub from me! Jesus Loves You!
What a lovely video! I picked up a Circuit edition last week and I’m loving this car!!! What a proper toy and such a different package compared to the norm, boring copy paste hot hatches. Will start mods after 2k mileage.
Love this video dude, love the journey you're on with the car. Wishing I had more time/money to put into mine these days. But loving every moment of it!
I know the warning light says diff, but it's the transfer case. There is a whole host of info out there. One state side and ongoing 1+ year study and real data by Syvec's and their programmer who's worked with Savagegeese's GRC owner and their channel. I'm becoming a bit of a broken record by now, but those in North America are not the first ones seeing these issues. I'll say it again to try and get the word out the UK and Australia have full race series with the GRY and they already have gone through these issues with successful fixes littered throughout their forums. I jumped on their forums early which most of our market owners should do now if not already.
Thanks for all of the videos you guys do on this car, def my fav channel! One question I have is about the red stripe on your hood, is that just basic vinyl or did you find one pre-cut? I'd love to do a similar black one on my white gr!
Owner of a 2018 WRX STI here. The GR has caught my eye, but I'm starting to doubt it will be a worthy contender. The price-range is fine, but I've been hearing a lot of negative reviews ... Enough to make me question whether I should even test-drive a GR or not.
I am in nyc getting a 24 core next week your presentation and knowledge is most intelligent and useful. will put all seasons on probably the Michelins pilot sport AS. could I safely rub a 245-40-18 on the factory wheel?
I, too, wanted white 😂 but the black is so good. As for the 2nd gear. I installed the Sxth pitch stop engine mount, and that resolved the issue. After it breaks in, the NVH is almost the same as stock. I'm curious how a 275/35R18 would fit. I was entertaining that size, but the load rating on them seems to be lower than a 265/35. Specifically for the continental DWS06.
Would like to hear your thoughts on weather you think something like the Cusco high capacity rear differential cover. Does it make a difference on the overheating? Thanks
I’m in northern Ny. Around 3 hours north of cuse. My car is arriving late December, but I’d love to get something together to see what other people have done with theirs.
I thought that it has been determined that the rear differential doesn't actually have a temperature gauge and doesn't actually overheat. It is based on the car sensing geometric forces and it has a set threshold that will automatically put it into that limp mode. That's why people doing mods to heat shield it, etc haven't worked bc it doesn't actually have anything to do with the temperature.
So far 555 Engineering has done the most testing we've seen publicly, and the ECU's heat calculations that trigger "AWD overheat" is apparently for the transfer case, which gets HOT, like 350F hot. Adding cooling is of course a good idea but the ECU is still predicting temps based on loads, inputs, sensors, etc. so even with cooling, it still goes limp. The best a99% solution we've seen is a diff cooler on the transfer case, and a Syvecs unit to prevent limp mode. The rear diff and ITCC don't actually get very hot.
I want that car so bad. I have no plans to go to the track with mine if I ever bought one, but I would be highly interested in your wheel, tire, and exhaust mods for purely aesthetical, listening and driving pleasure just for daily life. I like mods you can reasonably live with, so I would be interested in what specific set you would recomend for a guy who just likes to drive his daily for home life and driver enjoyment. Plus I'd imagine it would be cheaper over all than having your current set up equipped. I'd also be interested in you packaging these mods and additions together as a sort of "softboy" looks, sound, and feel package of parts for retail. I think it would be really cool and you might well alot of them, but what do I know right?
I got a 24 premium and just hit 22k! Literally 0 problems other than something whistling I still need to check it out. Not sure what it is but it’s intermittent. Could just be with age.
If you don’t mind me asking what are the biggest differences and why did you choose this over your 22’ WRX? Also, have you seen the new wrx ts? What do you think on that !
@ I think it’s just the steering column making the steering more stiff people who have comfort steering probably notice it, but I run the type R steering so it’s already stiff
DO VALVE SPRINGS! If you are going to push the car further I cant stress this enough because you WILL eventually hang a valve like I did. The valve train on this car is well underdeveloped especially with the upgrades you mentioned.
as someone that has spent alot in the vb wrx and some time in the gr i can say if you have kids then the wrx is wayyyyyy better. more room no doubt and yes the gr is a little faster stock for stock but the vb once modded is way cheaper and easier to make more power and you arent as limited as this gr is. not saying the gr isnt an awesome car but its most definitly not better in anything other than stock rated power. im going to go on a limb here and say this review is heavily going off that.
Under 10k subs and your production quality is this good? I see a gold play button in your near future, sir. Subbed!
Appreciate it! We just try our best!

Hey so you should have a million subs. This was awesome
Love the video! I just took home a 2025 GRC, had to go with the 6spd manual.

555 Engineering for coolers and AWD track box. Pagid RS29 for brake pads. Yes, Motul front to rear. Nice review.
Did you install both shifter cable and base bushings?

But great breakdown, loved this!

Congrats! It’ll be a blast
I think with the rear diff not having to work as hard with the stickier tires might be why you're no longer getting the error code
What front splitter is that. Follows the stock bumper lip really well
How are you like the racerX mount? Also, it be awesome If yall could do a video on the invidia pipe with the stock muffler/exhaust.

Based off our experience we’re definitely beating on it more this year, and no overheating since the tire change. Not too sure

What kind of rims are those
do you have an aftermarket clutch? or is it stock?
When you track your car do you keep the diff setting at “track” or do you prefer to use the 30/70 rear bias?
