The facelift version performance indeed more subtle, Toyota do listen to customer feedback, 300hps with heaps of upgrades, etc. But I would not buy a MK2, for example if you own a tuned Evo6, you may not upgrade to Evo7,8,9

The piano black plastic extra bits look a bit Halfords, the suspension was perfectly tuned from factory so why change it. The car isn’t a stock fiesta 1.0 so why mod the engine, the Toyota engineers really did a great job on the car and the stock tune is just right. I do agree the exhaust sound does need a tweak but that’s about it
The MK1 will always be the "original " one. The main "problems" are easily fixed... High driving position? There are a lot and cheap of lowering kits for the oem seat. Rearview mirror too low? It's not the same though it was originally gonna be based on the road car with the same 3 cylinder engine but just turned up with bigger turbo etc now because of COVID and then the wrc rules changed it wasn't able to compete in that form and has 4 cylinder hybrid power unit now
Get the new car, and do the intake and exhaust mods on that. The body and suspension kits look good, as does the wrap, but are all unnecessary. Not sure the bigger rear wing would look good by itself. You can easily tune the car for more power, and as the new car has upgraded engine parts, it's a better candidate for such.
Just do the intake, tune, and exhaust. Even though there's no way you're getting 40hp from an intake and exhaust. Probably more like 6hp. But sounds better. Don't mess with the wing, suspension, or seats. Probably much cheaper that way and you get 90% of the package.
I mean, if you like the new interior, sure. You'd still need an aftermarket exhaust though and for about 2,5k in parts for the old one (lowering the factory seats+ exhaust + mirror riser) you're all set.
I feel like I've seen lots of videos/tests that more or less prove that modifying intakes and exhausts on a modern car doesn't actually add power because modern car ECUs will account for any additional flow and force the car to operate within manufacturer specifications despite better breathing?
Matt save your money and turbo your Jimny instead! Out of all your cars the only one that needs more power is your Jimny 😂 I'd know because I own one too, I'm leaning towards the Greddy turbo kit though rather than the Twisted brand or any others. @@sbrader97 yes, but they did manage to homologate the body that was their main goal for aerodynamics.
And If I were to modify a Yaris GR I'd only go to LICHFIELD to have it done..Ha !!
What about heated seats and heated steering wheel?
Litchfield is the best place to take your Yaris.
I think it's better to upgrade to the New 2024 facelift GR Yaris than to spend 10k on these upgrades.
This one is quicker though; has better seats, exhaust, etc.
I mean, if you like the new interior, sure. You'd still need an aftermarket exhaust though and for about 2,5k in parts for the old one (lowering the factory seats+ exhaust + mirror riser) you're all set.
This new car from Mat Watson looked super epic!
Hallo from Greece🇬🇷 ia am a huge fan
this is clean asf G i would definitely do this if i had a yaris and the money
If the only choice is this or a new one, then new
idea for next car.
1:Buy an old banger
2:modify it like your gr yaris
3:race it with yani on carwow
I feel like I've seen lots of videos/tests that more or less prove that modifying intakes and exhausts on a modern car doesn't actually add power because modern car ECUs will account for any additional flow and force the car to operate within manufacturer specifications despite better breathing?
it really is rude this 2 door hatchy isn't sold here in the NA market. Ugh! Wanting one just like that! Sick whip brov!
Matt save your money and turbo your Jimny instead! Out of all your cars the only one that needs more power is your Jimny 😂 I'd know because I own one too, I'm leaning towards the Greddy turbo kit though rather than the Twisted brand or any others. HKS do a supercharger kit too and Harrop have one in development aswell.
Love the Jimny, haven't seen a video on it for a while
About 3 months ago on the main Carwow channel he put out a vid drag racing his personal stock one versus a turbo charged one and a 80s hot hatch.
