It looks absolutely incredible.
Thank you so much! We absolutely love it.
Very pretty. Black spray paint would have made them stand out during the daylight hours. Backlighting is the best. However, you need not risk your life displaying it on the roof.
Thank you for your input. You can actually see it pretty well during the day with the white on white. Love that idea though.
I suggest you coat the wood with flex seal clear so it wont rot away with constant snow or rain
Thank you, it is from our old fence and is under a covered area on our house and stored so it won't get wet, but that is a great idea to keep it looking the way it is.
Excellent!! Beautiful I will go this next year . I actually have the plaster Mary Jesus snd Joseph . But need the stable. I want it open so my spotlight will put a shadow on the wall . Thank you 🙏
That is awesome. Let us know if you make it. It sounds like you are on your way!
Your project inspired me to creat the nativity scene my wife has wanted for 20 years. I started with a screen shot of your twilight view, printed it on an 8.5x11 sheet and used 3/32 scale to produce a 4’ grid on the picture and transferred it to large paper with 4’ grid….made a perfect copy…Mary’s face in particular came out so beautiful….and it just kept getting better from there. Thank you so much.
Thank you for sharing that. This only took us 10 years, but as long as you do it, that is what counts. Way to be creative!
I think maybe if you had painted the figures a dark color it would contrast more with your house color. If you had a dark color house then having the figures light color makes more sense.
Thank you for your idea. You can actually see it really well during the day in person and we love the light to it.
It might have been easier if you did one strand of light with each figure. And then later connect the strands together once you get them up.
We have about 2 strands. The star is on its own and the three are connected, but work great. That is a great idea if the lights ever go out. It works for us right now.
What a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday season. I already miss Christmas 🎄
Absolutely beautiful and I love how the light of the day into night highlights the images. Great job, Hayley (and Shane)!
Thank you Lynn!
Awesomeness. Love this
Thank you, it brings us so much joy!
Thank you!!
Thank you’
I also did this..thanks for the inspiration
That is awesome! Thank you for sharing.
Amazing!
Thank you so much!
Instead of cutting out the figures I would have used carbon paper underneath and traced it onto the plywood
That is a great idea!
Gorgeous
Thank you so much.
Hello, you did an amazing job! I am planning a Christmas program for our youth, and i was wondering if you can post the link to how to get Mary Joseph and baby Jesus’ template pls
Please and thank you
I am so sorry I did not respond sooner. Here is the template from ShopBarberellaHome:
www.etsy.com/listing/1135264525/4ft-multilayered-nativity-scene?click_key=b6ac9d1870443157820e8d187b576d9c853c35c3%3A1135264525&click_sum=893f5b69&ref=shop_home_active_43&crt=1
I have such a hard time cutting anything like that out with my jigsaw I don't know if it's operator error or if it's the jigsaw
It definitely takes time and practice. ShopBarberellaHome from Etsy uses a different tool, wood router for smaller cuts:
www.lowes.com/pd/DEWALT-1-25-HP-Variable-Speed-Fixed-Corded-Router/3316758?cm_mmc=shp-_-c-_-prd-_-tol-_-ggl-_-LIA_TOL_129_Power-Tools-_-3316758-_-local-_-0-_-0&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA4Y-sBhC6ARIsAGXF1g5cwm8tWQTWOtMgpzZ5lYQVDcmTPCrNcMsLWyLLpB04B6-fA-K9ZAcaAsbTEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
EXCELLENT! Although I cannot locate the template.
Thank you! We purchased it from ShopBarberellaHome from Etsy:

I bought the template and my daughter printed it out and I'm very confused about how to lay the pattern out.
The Letter before the number is for each character you are cutting out. So J for Joesph and B for Baby Jesus, A for the star, M for Mary I think and not sure for manger as I did not use that one (I used my old fence boards instead) to line them up but you can always ask Barberellahome as they are her templates. Hope that helps!
I did all of this and even tried to.put the exact amount of lights on it but it looks nothing like the one here. Am very disappointed.
I am sorry about that. @barberellahome on instagram shows how she does a lot of templates that might help.
