  • We built a stable for our outdoor nativity! Check out this video for step by step instructions so you can make one too! It took us about 3 hours once we got all the materials.
    Supplies List:
    Eleven picket boards 1" x 5.5" x 6'
    Four 1" x 4" x 6' boards
Six 4" or 6" gate hinges
    Box of 1.5" wood nails
    Tools:
    Miter saw
    Measuring tape
    Hammer
    Set square ruler
    Sharpie
    Drill
    Safety glasses
    Cut List:
    1. 7 picket boards cut 33" from the bottom flat edge
    2. 7 picket boards cut 24" from the top 'rounded' edge
    3. Place four boards side by side. Measure 33" from bottom of
the first board. Then 38" from bottom of the last board. Use a straight edge to draw a diagonal line. After you cut off the rounded edge it'll measure 33"-38" tall from both directions. (for two walls)

Nicole is correct, no gaps because you are building the stable to keep them dry. She is one smart cookie, but I already knew that from Grandma Barbara. Mommy is pretty smart too, making it fold flat. It's a stable. Looks great. Congratulations to both of you.

Look at the little carpenter helpers....so cute. AND, being a Math teacher, I love that you have the opportunity to show them the importance of measuring, angels, and kepping things safe. GOOD JOB!!!

Awesome tutorial and thank you to you and your little helper for sharing. I'm getting the supplies so I can make one for my yard, I have the same nativity set so I know it will work for us. And the fact that it folds up is such a plus for easy storage! Thank you so much! 🛠📐🪚

Exactly what I was looking for!! The one I made and used for year's got dropped off the forklift at my husband's work where it was stored every year (it was all one piece) and broke to pieces 😢😭...may I ask what the dimensions are on this please so I know if I need to add boards to make it bigger, thank you for this awesome video!!!

Oh no! Sorry that happened! Never fun to lose something we worked hard on.
The width of the back of this is 38.5” and the sides start at 33” and slant up to 38”. After adding the brackets to the walls and putting it all together, it did add on about an inch or 2 to both the height and the width.
I hope this works out for you!!

Very nice! Do both sides fold neatly behind the back wall?

Can i use a 18ga nailers for this, would it hold?

    • @toocutesisters2
      @toocutesisters2  Рік тому

I believe these are smaller and are known to fall apart or rust quicker with outside projects. 18 gauge is usually for attaching small pieces of wood like a trim. I’d get a thicker nail that’ll hold up outside well.
