Just got this thing for my truck, took less than 10 minutes to set up, you hit all the points. The build on this thing is solid and can see this lasting for a long time. In the instruction manual also recommends bringing the battery to a full charge before engaging into the repair mode, for anyone using that mode.
Bought the Genius 10 last summer after purchasing the GB50 Boost XL, which works excellent jumpstarting a 5.0L V8. The Genius 10 repaired 2 - DEAD 2X Batteries and saved me ~$500 from having to replace with new. LOVE the NOCO items

Thank you for a dazzling video. The NOCO "repair" function also restored one of my 5 y.o. neglected flooded lead acid batteries. Note they offer marine versions of these chargers, and the jump starter comes in like 5 models. Recovery Mode (automatic) is for soft sulfation, but for hard sulfation, a stronger technology = Repair Mode desulfates a by applying a controlled charge to a fully charged battery by applying highly regulated low currents combined with high voltages. The NOCO G7200, G15000 and G26000 chargers all feature an advanced 16V Repair Mode technology.
I swear that literally anything NOCO puts out is quality and it's not that expensive. The reason the jumper and the charger are smart is because they have a chip in them that can sense different types of electrical pulses, it's so freaking wild. I've jumped off so many people's cars with my medium sized NOCO jumper that I keep in my truck 24/7 and the battery lasts a year if you don't use it before it even loses a charge.
Great video. I paid about 70 bucks at Canadian Tire on sale and have to say I am very pleased with the product as well. I did a repair on my 12 v mobility scooter batteries and am just about to see how well they hold a charge in comparison to the new ones I purchased for about 100 bucks a pair. I love that the jump starter version is a USB charger too! Its not as fast as a dedicated charger, but great to have a handheld charging system far from an outlet.
It's funny that you said that.. Last year I got a Noco Genius 2 for my bikes, and for whatever reason, it was d.o.a. Rather than deal with returning - I spazzed out and used it for a shooting target.. 1 shot w/ a .22 cal at about 25 yards, and the round dinged and glanced off the device. That Said - in MY case, the Noco really was 'bullet-proof'!! hahaha Just grabbed a Genius 10, and am giving er' a whirl now. *Fingers Crossed* So far / So good. 🤘😁 Sam -
Finally, an honest video about the the NOCO Genius 10. I just bought it for here in Alaska so I don't have that happen to me again. If you could (if you haven't already) have a demo just a simple live jump-start, it would be helpful as I am a visual person.
I used a 12V DC Charger like the one that's used for a home internet router (D-Link in my case). Make sure it has very low Amperage - mine has 0.5 A which is fine. 1A is ok as well. I connected the inside of the plug to the plus side of the battery (last) , and first connected the outside of the plug to the minus pole. Make sure to not short them! I let it sit for 10 minutes, after which my dead battery showed a charge of 6.9Volts and I could swap to a normal battery charger/conditioner.
I was able to repair 3 of the 4 batteries that I have but they are not holding the charge anywhere near as long as they did when I first purchased them. The nice thing about this NOCO charger is I can use it instead of the trickle charger when I'm out and about and it is much faster restoring to full charge.
Video Bob if you don't know keep it dry. In the past I have been able to leave charges outside like when I need to charge a lawnmower or bikes and I had no problem up until the last two that I have bought and they really get all that wet so I don't know 😕. I guess they have more going on inside now.
I need a battery charger ASAP and can't decide between a CTEK MXS 5.0 (4.3 amp) and NOCO Genius 10 (10 amp). After having watched this entire video, I decided to buy the CTEK MXS 5.0. This guy is a very good salesman and I don't take words from salesmen. NOTE: CTEK was established in Dalarna, Sweden in 1997. They are making chargers as accessories for Ferrari, BMW and Ford.
CTEK also makes a charger for Porsche... I own one, but I think its only 2amps, not helpful if the battery voltage is too low.. .. the Genius 10 works great to charge and repair worn out batteries from less than 2 volts. i.e. very dead!- I also have the NOCO Boost 50 and it jumps my 5.0 V8. 928 like "butta'". I recommend these highly.
I bought the 2 amp version of this. Im sure its a good charger but it didn't do as claimed and charge a dead battery that i had in my garage for a few years. It could possibly be low on acid and probably needs topping up. But because its sealed i can't do that. I'd say that is the problem and without being able to top it up, no charger will charge it. Seems like a well made charger and id say will be good to top up good batteries.
Did you put your Noco Genius charger in force mode to charge your dead battery? Most smart chargers won't charge a battery if the voltage level is too low, but Noco SMART charger's do.
don’t put acid in a battery the only thing a battery needs is water that out gasses, also don’t use repair mode on agm unless you are absolutely sure it a last resort after trying force charge and charging a couple times. It’s even stated in the manual as a warning right after full description of the repair mode.
On all the videos I’ve watched on this charger nobody has mentioned the fact that the instructions say to hook it up to the battery first, before you plug the charger into the wall is that correct or am I misunderstanding something?

You should take a look at LFP replacements. They are more expensive up front, but they're pretty much set and forget. They last longer, don't require maintenance like a trickle charger, you can fully discharge them without damaging them. A really good investment
The manual recommends disconnecting the battery from the car before using repair mode for that reason. I have just bought the Genius 10, but haven't tried it yet as I want to make sure I'm familiar with exactly how it should be used in both charge and repair modes on my old battery.
@@NURCUYou shouldn't have to completely remove the battery from the car, just disconnect both terminals so that the voltage/current from the charger doesn't reach the car's electronics.
@@NURCUI have been told that the stereo system probably won't work when the battery is reconnected, as the security system disables it. Apparently you need to pull out the stereo to view the serial number and then contact a dealer for your make of car to get a code to enable it again. I'm not sure what kind of proof of ownership you need to show. I haven't tried this (yet). I did have my car battery on charge all day today with the Genius 10, but it's not easy to tell if is holding more charge than before without testing it properly.

At 4:12 you (Bob) say "this is an AGM battery," I bought this charger yesterday to try to fix my Yellow top Optima. Page 5 of the User Guide under "Using 12v repair.", the Caution below it says in the second sentence, "CAUTION. USE THIS MODE WITH CARE. THIS MODE IS FOR 12-VOLT LEAD-ACID BATTERIES ONLY. " Are Absorbed Glass Mat batteries compatible to lead-acid batteries to use this feature? I also have the GB40 jump starter that really gives me a safer feeling knowing I have it in my car.
So if I'm out and about and the fricken won't start ... I can clip the red and black on and jump start the car WITHOUT this thing being plugged in right?
If you're talking about jumping your car there is a specific one he mentions at the end that yes will jump your car without being plugged in, I have one. But if you want to charge the car, you will need to plug it into outlet

Okay but read the warnings The 12 volt repair is only for lead batteries only not batteries like odysseys that's a $300 battery those are not led batteries regular car batteries you get from like Sears or AutoZone your cheap little $100 batteries those you can do a battery fix a 12 volt repair but not a $300 Odyssey those are different I got mine on a charger right now because it's cold at night. But not only that mine is an Odyssey so I can't do a repair I can only charge it
So, what happens after repair mode is finished? Does it stop, go to regular charging and then a green lite? I have it on an Optima now and the red repair lite has been blinking for about 2 hours. Not sure what to expect.
As Kutsi says, when repair mode finishes, it just shuts off. You then may want to unplug/plug it from the wall outlet, and then select the regular charge mode. If it recovered, it should start charging. If not, battery prob bad.

hi , I used one of these and the state of health of the battery would go from 40% to 8% to 2% and i hear bubbling noises when i put it through a repair cycle. Do you have any ideas of why this is happening? Thank you
@@babagandu yes, the battery charged in like 2 minutes. i found it odd it was that fast. i even used a battery tester every cycle, the battery just withered away everytime i put it through a cycle.
I've had one of these for a few years now. When one of my batteries were dead, they stayed dead even with using the repair option on these things. Anyone who doesn't believe me I have a Model: GB40. They may be a US designed product but they are made in China. Oh, I also have a Model: 26000 v2 which I leave my Harley battery on over the winter in my basement since I can't get terminals on while in the bike. These will charge a half dead battery but if the battery is actually dead, it's not going to magically come back with one of these. I've been trying it for years with both of mine, it doesn't work. I've also owned a jumper before I got these and it couldn't even turn over my Sportster when the battery was dead with only 2 cylinders. My GP40 can barely turn over the 302 in my Mustang when it sits for a while without a charger. These things aren't magic, none of them are form any manufacturer. Again, if your battery just needs a little bit of a push or you want to just leave it on a charger when it's not being used, these work perfectly fine and so will any other charger.

I just did a 550CCA battery (For a 87 Dodge Raider) took almost 6 hours but my other charger didnt seem to be able to repair it so I threw on the NOCO 10 happy with results.
I just bought a NOCO Genius 10. The only issue that I can't find the answer anywhere is how to tell when the actual unit is full charged, prior to attempting to charge the car battery? I plugged the unit into the wall for about 6 hours. But there's no indicator when it's fully charged.
I'll drive from Georgia to Vega$ in my Chevy Volt and buy your pile of dieded battries. And I'll volunteer in the shop as a flunky clean up messes and cars in exchange for one buffet at the Orleans per day. Well, make that breakfast and dinner, yeah. : ) Might need a couple a beverages. You can do the same thing with an arc welder ... but all of these ideas are temporary and dangerous - just buy new batteries. I saw a man have his face half blown off from messing around like this. Don;t waste your cash..

If all else fails, read the instructions, I have GB70 which starts my V8 instantly which it is designed to do, I have yet to find a charger that jumpstarts a car.

This video is not a jump starter box...its a battery charger...charges up dead low or slightly damaged batteries but noco makes jumpstarters also.

Why repair a fully charged battery?
AGM gel batteries are really good for the heat and cold. Better then liquid acid

Especially the small solar chargers, they also desulfate. I got 2 of them, for my car hauler and dump trailer.

The genius models only charge, the little box you see is not an actual battery. You definitely want to check their actual boost line up.
A nice long extention cord in the trunk would be the way to go to be safe. It's not for boosting it's for repairing and recharging them.
For flooded cell batteries they HAVE to have water.

Okay but read the warnings The 12 volt repair is only for lead batteries only not batteries like odysseys that's a $300 battery those are not led batteries regular car batteries you get from like Sears or AutoZone your cheap little $100 batteries those you can do a battery fix a 12 volt repair but not a $300 Odyssey those are different I got mine on a charger right now because it's cold at night. But not only that mine is an Odyssey so I can't do a repair I can only charge it
So, what happens after repair mode is finished? Does it stop, go to regular charging and then a green lite? I have it on an Optima now and the red repair lite has been blinking for about 2 hours. Not sure what to expect.

First check the battery fluid if there is no excessive wear on the battery! Wait for the repair mode to finish and then fully charge it again.
As Kutsi says, when repair mode finishes, it just shuts off. You then may want to unplug/plug it from the wall outlet, and then select the regular charge mode. If it recovered, it should start charging. If not, battery prob bad.

I had brought the noco genius 1 to charge my dead battery had on charge for over a week no progress, then I got another charger the Yohan try to charge my battery but the battery was still dead and the Yohan can't charge a dead battery...will u think this noco genius 10 would charge up my dead battery
You dont specifically need the 10, the 5 also works for this, but yes.
hi , I used one of these and the state of health of the battery would go from 40% to 8% to 2% and i hear bubbling noises when i put it through a repair cycle. Do you have any ideas of why this is happening? Thank you
Did you have it set to the correct battery setting?

@@babagandu yes, the battery charged in like 2 minutes. i found it odd it was that fast. i even used a battery tester every cycle, the battery just withered away everytime i put it through a cycle.

I've had one of these for a few years now. When one of my batteries were dead, they stayed dead even with using the repair option on these things. Anyone who doesn't believe me I have a Model: GB40. They may be a US designed product but they are made in China. Oh, I also have a Model: 26000 v2 which I leave my Harley battery on over the winter in my basement since I can't get terminals on while in the bike.
These will charge a half dead battery but if the battery is actually dead, it's not going to magically come back with one of these. I've been trying it for years with both of mine, it doesn't work.
I've also owned a jumper before I got these and it couldn't even turn over my Sportster when the battery was dead with only 2 cylinders. My GP40 can barely turn over the 302 in my Mustang when it sits for a while without a charger. These things aren't magic, none of them are form any manufacturer.
Again, if your battery just needs a little bit of a push or you want to just leave it on a charger when it's not being used, these work perfectly fine and so will any other charger.
My battery is dead can i just put it on repair mod on my Nico 10 and how long will it take its a big battery or would i have to go through the agm colours. Then put it on repair mod?? Thanks
I'm almost certain it take about 8 hours.
I just did a 550CCA battery (For a 87 Dodge Raider) took almost 6 hours but my other charger didnt seem to be able to repair it so I threw on the NOCO 10 happy with results.
You have to charge it first, and once that's done you put it in repair mode

I just bought a NOCO Genius 10. The only issue that I can't find the answer anywhere is how to tell when the actual unit is full charged, prior to attempting to charge the car battery? I plugged the unit into the wall for about 6 hours. But there's no indicator when it's fully charged.
hey, this does not have its own battery. Its only a charger and must be plugged into the wall to charge another battery/work.

You can do the same thing with an arc welder ... but all of these ideas are temporary and dangerous - just buy new batteries. I saw a man have his face half blown off from messing around like this. Don;t waste your cash..
Left my running lights on over night, this NOCO would not start the car. Piece of crap!!!! Cheaper to buy AAA roadside assistance.
This is a charger for dead battery. This is not a jump start battery. You need the GB40 noco
@@maolo76 I like the gb70 personally, just a bit more power so its easier to start a really dead battery and easier to help somebody else if they have a truck.

If all else fails, read the instructions, I have GB70 which starts my V8 instantly which it is designed to do, I have yet to find a charger that jumpstarts a car.
It's not for boosting car batteries, it's for repairing and recharging them & it's far peice of crap as you say.
