As a life long sailor I have seen many yachts on rocks, beaches and parcially sunk. It never fails to tug at the heart strings. Fabulous modern yacht or old and not so pretty, they were all somebodies pride and joy. As a young man, a long time ago, I had a Folkboat that broke from her mooring in a blow and was wrecked. She was my first yacht but you never forget them. Pehaps decades have made her memory feel comfortable, warm, dry and fast. She was none of these things but she was my pride and joy.
It is a JAGUAR 27. (The UK version of the Catalina 27 on the same molds). Very sad, we have the same boat and passed by the same place last summer on our way to France...
These islands and rocks looks very much like my beloved South of Norway. Lots of narrow water ways inside the open ocean. We always moore our boat longside the rocks. Protected with spring lines both ways and you are "tied for a storm". It's a saying that has been etched into me from childhood. You never know how strong the wind will be when it turns over to north during nighttime. Nothing beats a good sleep, knowing that you are completely safe.🛥🌊
It's always strange to se your own home area in UA-cam videos. I live a couple of km east of Marstrand and go there once or twice a week, by bus or just walking there, and often having lunch at Marstrand Pizzeria or Marstrand Havshotell. These two, and a hamburger stand, are the only restaurants open off season. They are all three also not on Marstrandsön (Marstrand Island) it self, but on Koön (Cow Island) across the narrow strait separating the two islands. I had a pizza there this Wednesday!
Did you feel the goosebumps. You pushed them back as we both felt them. I goth them cause I skipped your video several times. Then bam I stood and said Okay I hear you and goosebump city. That violin is your tool. I do love a friendly witchy person.
Hey, I was feeling a little down this morning, but thanks to you wonderful people, and your awesome Dynamics, I'm actually looking forward to today, so Thank you!
I like how you added the sound of the water gently lapping on the hull when you were motoring, with no engine sound. At first I wondered how you muted the engine but when you showed drone view I realized you must have cut the real time sound and added the quiet water sound. Very well done! As always. You do excellent editing, music, and commentary. A great way you show your artistic abilities. And yes, your friend is lovely.
I never knew the coastline of Scandinavia was so beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us. I’m sure you’re back in Oregon hard at work on Magic Carpet 2. But I have really enjoyed the Scandinavian summer edition. Cheers.
Such a beautiful channel to watch. You all are my favorite sailing channel. The editing and narrative are so amazing. Love the places you go and I enjoy the restoration videos also. Keep the violin concerts coming . I wait anxiously for each episode. Safe travels.
This video shows us those beautiful Swedish homes and gardens.O so pretty .Motoring through those narrow channels take all your attention as not to slam into those rocks. This is also a great experience for your friend Marena to see these vista's. I enjoyed this video a lot..Greetings:HR.
This is really good marketing of the Swedish west coast. Next time we want to see you on the Swedish east coast and Stockholm's archipelago, where I promise to invite you to dinner when you come by.
Some time ago you visited a place that another YT channel had and commented that you hoped that your videos could be as good one day. For a while now you have surpassed the quality and content of that channel. It’s great to be part of your journey and I’m looking forward to seeing Magic Carpet 2 bring new horizons and great content.👌
Another Beautiful episode! If the Spirit of Summer were an animal, it’d be extinct in the wild from how well your videos capture it. Speaking of the flag sail at the start of the video, it would actually be quite useful. You’d be able to claim the sunken boat on the rocks and take it home - WHO’s up for another repair job? Jokes aside, great video and keep at it. Fair winds, -J
I so enjoy your peaceful adventures as a silent, unseen passenger on Magic Carpet... as I tour so many places I will never see in person but can enjoy through your videos. 🙂
Lovely that you spend this time to share with a good friend. Boat experience are fabulous, but friendships are special. Perhaps Aladino could learn about wearing a suit, it's about being appropriately dressed for the occasion, particularly for those around you, and being comfortable in a suit on those occasions feels good. Not close to the level of carefully sailing your meticulously restored boat together, but very worthwhile at the appropriate time.
It is amazing how the curves and the lines of the rock that Maya bounces on, between 10:32 and 10:40, give the impression of a giant sleeping on the beach. And what a sailing lesson from Aladino!!!!
Nooooo, please don’t cut. I was really looking for to Aladino’s informed critique of the sailboat. It is always so good hearing pragmatic conversations regarding the design and construction of boats. Maybe Aladino could start up a specialist boat critique channel.
I appreciate Maya’s consideration for the owner(s) that suffered such a loss. If Aladino had gushed over what a fine boat it was, that would just magnify the loss, and conversely if he had shade to throw, that would just be rubbing salt in the wound.
Respecting one for their talent is great. Understanding that you feel so much more. Searching as you are so much more. Knowing there is something out there to guide you. Knowing you can be complete. Will you settle or find the calling?
Je suis un fervent admirateur et j'ai hâte de visionner chacune de vos vidéos. Rendu au crépuscule de ma vie j'avoue envier la vôtre. Chaque fois que je regarde, je vis par procuration. Bravo! Pierre et Heidrun Ville de Québec, Canada
Great video again from you. Fantastic quality recordings with filmic / cinematisk look and details. The Marstrand area is a favorite in Sweden for Danish sailors too. Understandable that you’re there for the third time already. Wishing you a great journey. / Per, Denmark
Is that a new sail??? Multicolored? Isn't the sunken sailboat able to be pulled out and possibly fixed if necessary? Awww so sad. Such cute places. Too bad it was getting cold.
It looks so idyllic from here in the rain and storms. There is something so tranquil about the end-of-season when the crowds go but the weather is still good. Shame about the pastries though!
Your choice of music is always great. I don't know what I love more, your beautiful pictures of sailing or the music in your movies. You should make one clip only with music. 10:50 is so nice. Could you please tell me where you get it from. The soundtrack I use leads always to a penalty in youtube.
I'm from Denmark and my country used to be much bigger than it is now. Actually Marstrand and other big parts of Sweden were Danish until 1658 where Sweden stole it from us. The castle was then built to protect the area from us Danes. Denmark and Sweden were defenitly not friends back then but obviously we are now. Love your videos by the way!!
Great photography, good camera. When walking around the towns, hardly anyone about (?Ghost towns!?) but beautiful to behold. Very interested to know who was controlling the drone for the long off-boat shots. Enjoyed the video. Did you have bake your own bread? (From a 12ft clinker built, English dinghy owner, 'Tideway' built at Leigh on Sea.)
I'm amazed at how fresh and in good condition the paintwork is on those buildings. They all look as though they have only been painted yesterday. Is it really the case that they are all freshly painted, or is it more likely a very good quality resilient paint? Anybody know?
They are quite expensive holiday homes so people tend to take good care of them. That said there are special paint brands/types that hold up better in salty and windy environments and will look like that for around 10-15 years (when it's time to repaint a house like that if the wood fasad is to hold for 40+ years)
So I see a way to raise some funds for your Cape George 😉 How many hours can Aladino spend in a tailored suit? All of your subscribers and patrons make a bid per hour to a maximum of 12 hours….but of course he must be out in the public eye ….perhaps an evening of dinner and dancing 🕺 💃 ….😂😂😂….
It looked like a good, functional boat but it wasn't a piece of jewellery or fine watchmaking. Magic Carpets I and II are both. Is that snobbery or preference? Thank goodness for the preference, you guys do beautiful things. Thank you.
why didn't you do the east kost, when you chose sweden? it is so much greener and more beautiful. With thousands of fantastic islands! With kindest regards. Piero Mengarelli
I know you are sailing in "the summer". But haven't anybody told you that the Swedish summer is almost just one month (july). Let say from midsummer (25/6) until the first week in august. I shuld have done it but I didn't think about it. About when did you arrive to Mollösund?
Hi there. Now that you have been to Marstrand , you may look up the seahero Peter Wessel Tortenskjold Who fooled the sweedish navy/militery in Marstrand.
I heard on onr of those. "amazing faxts' UT chanel that Swken has the most islands pf any nation pm earth. Thinking of maps of aves like Indonesia or Canada that deemed impossible. Watching your videos, it seems inevitable..

Was it a nice Boat? - Aaaaagghhhhhhh ….. (20 minutes lecture on why this boat was not.. ) :)). Aladino, please never change! :)😁
The music accompanying the video matches the mood perfectly - one of the highlights of this week's episode. Many thanks for sharing Mike

beautiful sailing grounds. I love Åstol mostly when I sail to Sweden.
There is always a touch of art in your videos even if Maya doesn't play music. That makes this channel so unique. Thank you so much.
it is not inappropriate that Aladino gives out with some boat snobbery (imho). Magic Carpet gleams, that wood warms my heart every time I see it.
Did you feel the goosebumps. You pushed them back as we both felt them. I goth them cause I skipped your video several times. Then bam I stood and said Okay I hear you and goosebump city. That violin is your tool. I do love a friendly witchy person.

Very beautiful music video in a perfectly idyllic setting. What a delight as always.

😁😁😁"Aladino's boat snobbery" 😁😁😁 👍👌👌 Splendid!
That was a very nice one. Especially the razor sharp and colorful footage at the end. Good job
I love your videos so much!!! They are a beautiful documentary of your travels and it’s pleasure watch. Thank you so much for sharing.

Tupperware is not sponsoring this channel. My bet is that has to be it...

I love it.........new phrase of the day......"boat snobbery".
Another groovy day in the life video. Well done.

A Beautiful shot of Marina at 10:10.

As usual very enjoyable video, thanks
How beautiful little towns! Sad to see them empty, though.
I love watching your adventures!!! Love seeing you live out your dream !
Yes it is a beautiful sunset Aladino! Stay on the rocks good side.
It is beautiful sunset, but the two ladies are even more fabulous and accomplished.
Another good video! That west coast of Sweden is so beautiful and you capture the very essence of it. Almost magic!
Vero Beach Florida 🏖️⛱️💯
Beautiful scenery and sailing. Thanks for sharing your amazing adventures ⛵️⛵️⛵️🥰
Oh its so nice to see all the places I use to sail in the summer through your eyes.. love from Göteborg
Spectacular!
Lovely to see you sailing through the Albrekt canal and Mollesund is a nice community hall
Beautiful places. Glad you are enjoying your friend. I missed your calming narration.
Sweden… so beautiful!!
Great video again from you. Fantastic quality recordings with filmic / cinematisk look and details. The Marstrand area is a favorite in Sweden for Danish sailors too. Understandable that you’re there for the third time already. Wishing you a great journey. / Per, Denmark
Nice that you liked Mollösund.
I grew up there and worked in the fish factory down in the harbor. in the 80s
You find the BEST music for your videos…surely that’s not Maya on both the piano and guitar!?
I got to think your boat was made for rock hopping just like you are doing . Perfect size for a trip like that ..
Well, I see Dini has a cell phone case in red, exactly like mine. Hard to misplace it. And surprisingly, you can misplace stuff on a small boat.
Lugares lindos, transmitem uma paz incrivel. saudações do Brazil
Beautiful places. Thanks for taking us along. :)
Amazing. Thank you for bringing us along on you magical summer’s travels!
Is that a new sail??? Multicolored? Isn't the sunken sailboat able to be pulled out and possibly fixed if necessary? Awww so sad. Such cute places. Too bad it was getting cold.
Bravo, Such a calm relaxing video and the beautiful surrounds ,, shear artistry through video medium.. 👍⛵👍
such well-kept villages very nice.

You lost it. Fair and square!
@@gunnarelofsson4513 yep, but we try to beat you in football instead. 😁🇩🇰💯
Wauw! That channel again! So beautiful!
Beautiful, Question - What is the architectural influence? just beautiful towns!
At 10:03 I had an Ah ha! moment and the pointing Rick Dalton meme came to mind.
A most colorful ghost town. Only saw one other man walking by. 🙂🙂
Great photography, good camera. When walking around the towns, hardly anyone about (?Ghost towns!?) but beautiful to behold. @03:40 No need to cut it... Aladino's Aaaaahm says it all.😂
Superb!

Välkomna till det vackra Sverige!!!
Another interesting episode.
EXCELENTE VIDEO !!! UN GRAN SALUDO DESDE ARGENTINA LA TIERRA DE MESSI !!!

In this video when you are underway I don’t see your dingy either on the Bow or towing behind?
Delicious...as usual.
A question that I have. Your ships log how often do you update it. What information do you write in it?
I miss the music Maya used to play:-)
When were you there?

The Swedes must be obsessed with maintaining their homes, there was no glimpse of any in need of repair. Lovely towns.
I can confirm we are obsessed🙂
