He did this routine in the Toronto show a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely hysterical. The audience were almost collapsed on the floor breathless with laughter. It’s my all time fave from his repertoire. So bloody clever. No other comedian has the unique intelligence of this man.
He transcends cultures and languages. I told my sister about him, and we watched his Netflix show together. My sister doesn't speak English, so we watched with Polish subtitles. And even though I think some of the humour gets lost in translation, I had never seen my sister laughing as hard as she did while watching Michael McIntyre.
There is comedian, and then there is genius!! Michael McIntyre is a comedic genius!! I had to pause a few times to catch my breath from laughing. 😂😂😂🤣🤣
MAAAAAAAAAAAAte thats Gold, Coming from an Aussie family where English wasn't the first language this was a topic of discussion quite a lot :-) Comedy Gold!
When you laugh until you cry.... Best medicine ever... No need for medication If I sm having a day when just not exactly on top of the world!!! Msny years ago i used to be on meds...Diazepam Prozac and another stupid amount of chemicals...When I have now gone since 2015 with 0 meds .. Change outlook being positive and Laugher sure is the best medicine... Between Michael McIntyre and Vincenzo plate videos, what an inner feeling of love and laughter. Believe me PRICELESS 😂😂😅😅 My health is awesome...Keeps me smiling, when re running these through my head... And having to laugh hours later ..Or when you tell to someone else. 😅😅 ❤❤😂😂😊😊❤❤
0:58 😂😂just ignore me , I'm silent. I'm silent. I was left here, I was left behind. Until now, l was destined for another word baboon.... I had such a good laugh.😂😂
He managed single mouthly to make the English language resemble its cousins from the Netherlands and Germany. That's how we speak... Half with an l in it.
I don't think most people in the States know MM - I just discovered him for myself a few months ago and am devouring his work! I hope he makes it to Seattle on a tour sometime!
I've heard other comedians do English language bits, but this is absolutely brilliant and one of the funniest I've seen. I'm down for International Silent Letter Day. 😂 Make it the opposite time of year as Talk Like A Pirate Day.
Pretty sure it is! Same way he takes off his glasses on Graham Norton when he's pissing himself laughing (search "Norton Hilarious menu fails", watch if you haven't!).
@infinite3joy Not exactly. The H has a purpose because it changes the sound of a syllable, ce/che or ge/ghe, for example. If you speak Italian you know what I mean. It's not useless as in English 😁
Just wondering: was Michael inspired to write about silent letters after listening to Victor Borge’s punctuation routine-you know, the one where every comma, semi-colon, period, etc. was pronounced? Absolutely hilarious!🎉 🎉
Excellent ! Ok, it simply sounds like French !!! Gnome, Champagne, we pronounce all those letters ! But rest assured, we also have a loooot of silent letters too… 😂
This man is a genius, I can only pray he comes to my city one day as the favourite word there is 'innit' which must be added to the end of each sentence
Very clever, BUT - he missed another one right at the end there. "We went to sleep at half past eight!" ee-ig-a-hut maybe! He did so well with the rest of them, don't know how he missed that!
When I first was learning English, I thought I was losing my mind. Thanks to McIntyre, now I k-now I was not w-rong.
😂
I always said & repeat, it is funny, illogical language, colonial history made it international 👌
😂
English is pretty screwy :)
@@amyrodgers9887 But oh how I love it :)

I was at a show in Toronto too - I was nearly on the floor. Soooo funny!
His American English one is awesome too lol

This guy is amazingly “one of the best” comedians ever
After 25 years he can still do stand up & make people laugh
This upload is like a Christmas present 🎁 to his viewers
There's simply no one as great as Michael Mcintyre when it comes to humour! He can make anything funny! 😂👌❤️
Nina Conti and Michael together would be my dream
Yay a new clip from Michael 🎉
I love this man. Funniest man on planet earth. I can watch his clips over and over and over.
I needed this. Love Michael McIntyre. ❤
Oh my Lord I need a handkerchief to wipe away my tears of laughter- also a nice word for the silent letter day 😂😂
You mean tears of la-ug-hh-ter
How can we get our mouths around the silent letters in ‘laughter’?
Queue should be the symbol of silent letters day ;)
@@piotrdworowy183 Perfect. 😂
I've missed these so much 😂
Welcome back to YT Michael!!!!
I love when I can laugh out loud!! 🤣 😂
Seeing Stanley Tucci losing it was an added bonus. Michael is hilarious as usual.
So brilliant! Can’t wait to see the whole special!
Michael McIntyre is the best, funniest comedian ever!!
This man can make a comedy act out of anything. He's a genius.

Yay! Thanks Michael!!! You're hilarious! ❤
Love him! Great laughs. So funny. Thanks, you made my evening.

Comedy Gold!
Thank you for saying that from all the English language learners 😂
Absolutely brilliant, just like his names one that he did which is one of my favourites
There are tears running down my cheeks. OMG I needed that hilarity in my life.
He really understands us foreign speakers of English. 😂😂😂
I watched this segment when it aired on the Saturday night & it’s just brilliant from Michael 😂🙌🏻

So true!! 🤣😂🤣!! Many greetings from Austria!! 🤣😂🤣
I re-ally do enjoy lis-tening to Mic-ha-el McInty-re
It’s like hearing my fellow Dutch countrymen talk 😂
He's forgetting the silent e on knife and subtle!! Should be sub-tl-e & k-nif-e😁😂
After a year
Finally
Someone decided to drop a clip
This show aired on telly a couple of days ago. Of course they weren't going to upload any clips before that.
HAH! That was good 😂 Greetings from Finland 🇫🇮
I laughed so much I can’t help it bro you need to do a world tour again 😊
New clip woo hoo !!! Still bloody brilliant and fantastic ❤
Oh my I needed this laugh!😂 Thanks
Befor-e I wa-t-ched this I k-new it was going to be hilarious. I was never in Dou-b-t
👏👏👏👏
I'm an ESL teacher amd honestly when my students ask why they do this, I never know what to say 😂😂😂
I don't think most people in the States know MM - I just discovered him for myself a few months ago and am devouring his work! I hope he makes it to Seattle on a tour sometime!

I love this guy, always makes me laugh.
We have to explain to our students why there are so many silent letters in English.
Michael is really cool😂
Well most of them originate from different languages where they have additional letters and the "silent" one were "loud" ;)
Being so clever spoils great humour!
@felicityfourie1785 Sometimes maybe
Brilliant!!!!
Hilarious as always! 😂😂😂
I’m Swedish…have been wondering the exact same thing since starting to learn your language…in the late seventies…😅
3:12 Is that Stanley Tucci by any chance 🤔
Well spotted, he certainly looks like him en profile.🧐
Pretty sure it is! Same way he takes off his glasses on Graham Norton when he's pissing himself laughing (search "Norton Hilarious menu fails", watch if you haven't!).
Wow, it really is!!! Well spotted, he's wetting himself 😂😂😂
Very funny. This was extraordinary. I love this man. Make me laugh all the time.
😂😂😂Need part 2
AMAZING.... I couldn't stop laughing
In the Italian language, we pronounce each and every letter in a word. And this is why English is such a nightmare for us.😂
Same in Spanish
Except H.
@infinite3joy Not exactly. The H has a purpose because it changes the sound of a syllable, ce/che or ge/ghe, for example. If you speak Italian you know what I mean. It's not useless as in English 😁
@ What about ho/hai/hanno? No particular purpose there.
@infinite3joy Well, they DO have a purpose, but you are right, they are silent in that case.
I went to see one of his shows a couple months ago; he talked about this also.
He is brilliant!🙌🏾
Just wondering: was Michael inspired to write about silent letters after listening to Victor Borge’s punctuation routine-you know, the one where every comma, semi-colon, period, etc. was pronounced? Absolutely hilarious!🎉 🎉
I love his comedy
the day I realized that "canif" (pocket knife in French) is basically... k'nife...
(k is pronounced "ka" in French)
The best --- so funny!!!!!!!
A very talented man
Excellent ! Ok, it simply sounds like French !!! Gnome, Champagne, we pronounce all those letters ! But rest assured, we also have a loooot of silent letters too… 😂
People say the English language is confusing this is why it sounds like us trying to speak French 😂
Omg this is so funny 😂❤
Awesome🎉😂 I went crazy explaining to my students how to read "properly" by ignoring silent letters! 😂Well done❤
I've missed him
You missed flavOURS 😂
Wish I could see a live show😂
Champagne is actually French and lasagna is Italian, but the rest are relevant
Y'know, technically, christmas could be seen as silent letter day too, it does have a silent h in it after all 😂
ABSOLUTELY ❣️
Hello Michael 🤩your the funniest I subbed
Merry Christmas, Michael..... 🎀
This man is a genius, I can only pray he comes to my city one day as the favourite word there is 'innit' which must be added to the end of each sentence
Excellent ❤❤❤
I log head (laughed) so much!
I love how many of his examples aren't English words.
Every foreign student learning English quite rightly points out how ridiculous our use of silent letters is!! 😂
This is brilliant 😂😂😂
I'm P-sy-Ched.
Funniest man ever. Love him.
I want to hear how he was queueing behind eight people and how it messed up his schedule! 😉
He missed out on”w-hy”
He didn't say goodnight!
Very clever, BUT - he missed another one right at the end there. "We went to sleep at half past eight!" ee-ig-a-hut maybe! He did so well with the rest of them, don't know how he missed that!
Recei-PT😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
We do the exact same thing in DK
Sounds like German 😂 this is how we speak.
Great😂
3:50 Michael Sheen and Anton du Beke!
Well spotted❣️
Why aren't fo-r-ks allowed on silent letter day?
😂🎉welcome back!
Did your friend Siobhan drop by?
