The Rolling Stone, David Bowie, Genesis, Billie Joel, T-Rex, Queen, Bob Dylan, Elton John, The Beatles, The Byrds, The Stooges, The New York Dolls, Weezers, Elvis Costello, ELO, Jackson Browne, John Mallecamb, Oasis, Blur, The Smiths, Radiohead, Talking Head... but most of all, themself.
Two words: Roxy Music. Some of these tracks feel like Instruments for Big Star meets the vocals of Roxy Music.
@@misaelyajurepirone4031 when it's that many influences it's just along new music. I don't like when people call them a retro band (not saying you're saying that btw). Just think theyre the brightest rock minds as far as how relatively new and how rough they are. Some people like some of these other bands that are "kinda" like them but those bands are all trash retro , boring and unorignal as far as I'm concerned.
Definitely the best band in the world right now. Saw them at Koko in Camden Town, London last night and they are sensational.

they are so musically talented its really something, i remember being there with the first album and now they have 3 and I actually think the last two were better than the debut album now.
This is my favorite song of theirs and I really wish they had a studio recording of it on their debut album. Or at least a single. Hopefully they release it soon.
It'll be on their second album Go to School, which releases mid 2018

I really like it. Great influences coming together in a new way, plus a sense of humor, which never hurts. Exuberance! So tired of overly serious groups who sound like they just picked up their instruments a couple days ago. Lemon Twigs are a great antidote to that boring stuff.
Listened to the first 45 seconds and I was hooked

I don't get all the Big Star references. Big Star sounds like 70s soft rock radio music, these guys are hardcore, more like The Who or Roxy Music. Rocking guitars and drums, some psychedelia, adventurous chords and riffs, etc.

I think they’re fine, because their talents are evenly distributed. The Gallagher’s were both jealous of each other’s role in the band leading to the majority of their issues.

I know many have made the comparisons to Big Star, and they’ve covered some of their stuff, but in particular the drums on this song are SO Jody Stephens.

The live performance is way better than the studio version, and it's a bummer that Danny left, because this could've sounded SO much better on Go To School if he had stayed
he was only touring, didn't do studio much. Brian and Michael can both play piano

This version sounds like Redd Kross. The studio version sounds like Alex Chilton - like if "You Get What You Deserve" was on Bach's Bottom.
