Sounds like electric catholic choir music and singing. And dont you dare try to compare them with a Prince Zep crossbreed. Precocious and just very bad.
@@darthwolf2592 Sorry my opinion is I don't like them or think they are even very good. I like what they want to be. They're just very far from being there. Maybe someday.
Martie Sweeney you cant tell people who to compare them with. That’s their opinion and since you have a lot of that, why don’t you respect others’ as well..
i saw this video when it came out, and six years later im still coming back to it. the whole band's performance was amazing, but michaels drumming in These Words was actually incredible. and he was 17 in this too...
@@thomasdupont7186it doesn’t seem to me like he’s trying to be anything but himself. But what do i know, i’m just a dumb professional musician in my 50s, who has seen many musicians rise and fall over 3 decades. 🤷♂️
This band rules so much. Queen Of My School, WOW. That bass work on that song is genius, the drumming is blisteringly good, so much character and fun in this music. I hope these guys go the distance and give us many more great albums in years to come. Lemon Twigs rule!
I love these guys so much..Michael just has it..idk what it is but everybody will be drawn to him...You guys are the next biggest thing in music..please save rock n roll!!!!
Discovered The Lemon Twigs a few weeks ago and listening to their album is like hearing the past while seeing the future. Absolutely love it! Can't wait to hear more. Thanks for uploading this performance, Amoeba.
It’s always a thrill to see the real thing, youth who are real musicians. I have an audio crush on their music. They make fairly direct references to other music, but there’s enough of their own selves in it, that it doesn’t ever feel like thin pastiche. Bless em, I hope they’ll be around, and confident and happy, for many years.
Little late to the party, but i see this for the first time and i'm really impressed. You can feel the joy and and love for warmth, beautiful analog music
What a band! They sound so good, so complex and so mature that it´s difficult to believe that they are only teenagers. Great vocals and great performance with the instruments, specially Michael, who plays the drums as if his life depended on them.... althought in reality they are the others who are in danger of being kicked when he plays the guitar. Awsome, simply awsome. Regards from Spain.
Fun Fact: The Twigs actually don’t really care much for Queen, as bohemian rhapsody used to play over their school’s PA system for a year during high school. Funnily enough, the “to me” ending of Haroomataa ended up with several queen comparisons lmao
the two sons of Todd Rundgren. And the Devil. one looks just like young Alex Chilton, the other plays Big Star between songs. And he's Keith Moon while on the drums, Pete Townshend as he switchs to guitar. I mean, this is ridiculously incredible. They're just too much. Gotta love them.
Wonderful authentics sound of like early punk and retro art rock 70-th! Greatful traditions in youth's interpret-seldom amazing! You can stage fired great creations Keep this wave and expand!
Thank you Eliot Roberts for turning me on to the Twigs! Been an avid fan of their more recent stuff and kinda going back to see from whence they came. I heard Bowie...Big Star...The Who...but I saw the future.
I feel like the drumming sets this act apart from practically every other retro group around these days, because they can actually go from all this drippy melodic stuff into something that is off the charts powerful in a second.
I know. Sorry. I didn't respond to your response; only to the original post. But, yeah, both great drummers. The first one in this clip, though, is off the hook. He's incredible.
I have never seen a drummer be so fucking all over the place and have weird techniques and not look like he knows what he is doing and simultaneously be so fucking amazing, accurate and tasteful, right in the pocket and dynamic! How does he do it, I mean at 3:00, who holds the sticks and moves their whole arms instead of wrists like that? Yet he is right in the pocket playing the dynamics he needs!
The brothers switch between singing and drumming. They're both amazing in both.
I watch this performance at least once a year to remind myself of all the good in this world.
michael's mic literally did a 360 at 6:02 and he never misses a beat,, these brothers are so cool with immense talent. long live the twigs~

Yep that girl has serious talent. Her touch and timing is sensational. The whole band is seriously good.
This is definitely one of the most inspiring bands of the newest generation, and already a great fav of mine.
Awesome performance. Lemon Twigs deserve to be huge.
They are little rock stars man. The brothers are only 17 and 19
no, i prefer them not to be mainstream and be commercial ugh i don’t want that to happen :( let our lil beans be who they are x
Turned the 70's rock :) Incredible band. Greetings from Argentina.
Thanks for watching!

Not only was I there that day.. but I was the guy that helped them out lending them a sustain pedal.. Now we are friends.. love that band so much!!!!!
They should hire you, they are so great love the make up, cloth's and most of all the music.
fernando perdomo u dumbass
Hey Fernando, you're awesome, dude! I picked up the Dreaming In Stereo records off Bandcamp and they are incredible.
Sweet, Fernando! From a fellow Todd fan. . . .
this performance of as long as we're together is ridiculously incredible
You can really tell that the drummer is inspired by Keith Moon
Joseph Villalon With a Steve Perry hairdo
I thought I was watching a clip from that long rumored Keith Moon movie..
He looks like a young Pete Townshend and drums like a young Keith Moon.
He's got the Townshend boilersuit as well
Keith Moon is exactly what I thought. The kid destroys on drums!
Invite them for what's in my bag - that would be so cool
This is some of the best drumming I've seen Michael do, the instrumental break at the end of These Words was so great!
Love the band, look, sound! 70s vibes. I want them to be huge!
Their look is maybe 70's,... their sound is 60's and that is the best of the 60's.

Michael is a musical genius. He'll be looked at as one of the greats one day, give him time

terrific band. a lot of retro influences but they take it to a whole new creative and original place, wow.
I prefer this live version of Haroomataa to the album version, so good!

No one's commented on the basslines, they're pretty cool! Melodic in a Macca way (the Rickenbacker helps)
