For a couple of them being first time D&D players, it's amazing how quickly they are catching on. Just started watching from the beginning, can't wait to see how it progresses!
Wilson Cartwright Only Mike is playing for the first time I think. Jerry has played a lot and Scott played as a kid. It's amazing how awesome Mike roleplays Jim Darkmagic given that he's a first time player. Most first time players I've played with get too carried away with the rules and tactics and forget to role play.
+Wilson Cartwright Yeah, I'm a nuub my self, and I've never ever played D&D but I think it's because Chris PErkins is such a awesome goldy DM Master :) And yes i think it helps if you have some IQ's i think, but i do suck at math, so It's me and Scott Kurtz haha xD
Listen very carefully at 36:02 You'll here a faint alarm triggerd and someon walks in to the gamestore they are in... at that time.. Thinking too himself "Hmm, i wonder what thery are playing back there".. and little did he know, that he had just walked in and witness a D&D adventure that would become the most epic D&D adventures of all time.. Literally history in the making... in the very first early stage of it...
So ur friends call Vin Diesel a "nerd", go watch D&Diesel. second u can also better the starting of ur speach (look at dawnforgedcast "how to get frinds into roleplay") basicly dont start with "do u guys have fun playing DnD ?" ask them if they like Boardgames, Computergames, specificated Movies or massiv fights with stategie. And then start talking about that world u wanna create but u dont have anyone to explore it. "is there a Will, is there a way" (german adage)
It’s so fun hearing the origin of all this stuff. Like Jim renaming Magic Missile to “Jim’s Magic Missile” which is now an official spell. “Binwin Bronzebottom is the kind of name that might end up in official D&D products.” “Ill-Lew-siary”
Been a long time fan, but never got around to listening to these early podcasts. I just Finished C-team a couple weeks ago and wow, seeing the birth of Spluggath the Returned is amazing, lol.
awkward moment when the D20 used as the back round is actually a hit counter die used to keep track of life in games such as MTG. Anyway I love listening to you guys :P
XD started out watching the pax game they are funny as hell but actually get serious when they need to a balance between silly and serious is necisarry for a real fun campaigne
Scott (Binwin) could have actually used his second wind as a minor, since hes an rock-on, hell to the yeah dwarf. Seems like they didn't need it though :p
I know it’s been a decade since you asked this question, but if you’re still alive, I’m gonna answer. I think they only suspected he might be a hobgoblin, but they weren’t sure.
I'll never get how people can just sit and draw during d&d. I do art as a hobby and went to art school and all but Im WAY too insecure about it to let people watch me doodle.
After the seasons of the C team, coming back to rewatch the original series, I realize what has annoyed me the most about both games. It's Jerry. He's a control freak and it's all about the story he wants to tell, not necessarily the group as a whole. Maybe it's just a weird tick of his, but he's constantly trying to tell Chris what's happening and the like. Chris is a very patient man.
I understand where youre coming from with that. Ive always been an avid DCA fan and could never get into critical role (because of impatience im sure i will eventually) but i once tried a C team episode. And maybe its because im spoiled in dca by chris perkins masterful interactive storytelling and banter but when i heard jerry dm it felt like he couldnt let them talk. I remember walnut interject like once but he just kind of ran her over with more exposition.hes still pretty funny sometimes so im not saying hes satan or anything
gotta take time to have time my friend, try to enjoy the show... if not, use your imagination, 'cos, i think there's no summary... make friends with D&D! close your eyes and picture it! lol
@@Idziemel1 since you seem to have trouble figuring things out for yourself, has an idea ever graced your mind that the podcast could be boring in itself when they're newbies? Cause even comming back it's stil kinda boring and so far I've seen AND listend to several podcasts. Do you play D&D yourself ? I understand playstyles can vary
@@rudamachoo that's true but listening back this was agony, they interact with the map in front of them alot but tell the audience so little. When I wrote this it was before I had the chance to play myself, so regardles of how cool it was this gave me more questions then awnsers. Also back then there was no speed up function
"Put a goblin on your grill with Burning Hands" is still my favourite acq inq joke
Jim Darkmagic is my hero

I don't think anyone expected the explosion of popularity this series experienced!

+MsRandomPro 16:48~16:50 as well
+iGyman That's very cool, and i didn't hear it haha nice.
Do you play D&D? :)
I feel like that's noises from a camera because you can hear the shutter at times also
Man i wish my freinds didn't think DnD was nerdy so i had some people to play with!
that's the single biggest obstacle for people who want to play! no one to freaking play with
So ur friends call Vin Diesel a "nerd", go watch D&Diesel.

It is nerdy, you need new friends
Crazy Kenny
Agreed, seducing friends into the way of nerdiness is a long and arduous task. Instead consort with the willing.
I hear good things about roll20.net you could try that.

These guys remind me of the group I used to play with when I was a kid. I wish I could play with this group. These guys are fun.
I roll to kill iron tooth! That shit is funny!
Loving this, just watched the 2016 series and the pax closer on the dragon/giant/ rod theft quest. Cool to see where it all started.
They made it all the way to episode 4 before deciding they couldn't keep it kid-friendly😂
What a tense episode! Im so glad I went back to see the beginning of your adventure!

You could still use it as a D20 provided you used a dice-cup to prevent people weighting their rolls.
Notdylanlowes Thats what I thought too. But what about that 10 and 12? there is no way there could be an 11 touching both.
Notdylanlowes it was used because it looks the best in a picture, it is bigger than the other D20s available
It's a twenty sided dice but it's in order therefor it isn't dnd legal but a life tracker for magic the gathering
Jonny I relized I just thought it was funny
38:25 Jim gets inspiration for RP'ing to the max.
loving this!
What happened with the plaque?!??! the riddle!??!

Gee, Scott Kurtz sounds so much like John Travolta
this is a challenge chris is an awesome DM
This is great! Lol!
I forgot how weird 4th edition was.....
The guy with the cold is killing me.
Scott (Binwin) could have actually used his second wind as a minor, since hes an rock-on, hell to the yeah dwarf. Seems like they didn't need it though :p
Damn it jim, i nearly choked on my coffee at about 5:15
I know this is a little late, but i think that is Jerry, or Omin
As the goblin irontooth continues to burn from acid somewhere a dalek proclaims.... exfoliate!
Around 26-28 minutes in, you hear door charm in the background. lol
would have been nice had you guys posted maps, at least...
Do you have to watch this first before the live ones?
Broadwaybutterfly21 You don't have to, but it helps if you want to experience the whole saga in the correct order. It's not critical though.
About how long after one of their games do you get the vid or podcast fit together and loaded up? And anyone know when the 2015 games are?
if I'm not mistaken they play live on pax prime and pax east? so you can expect episodes shortly after those...I guess? Don't quote me on it though
Thanks! Hope you saw today's episode. It was pretty hilarious.
not yet, but I will watch it as soon as I have time :D
Is your guy's podcast on the iPhone podcast app? If so, how may i find it
I'm really curious as to how they meet Aeofel (After several attempts, I am fucking done with Wil's character's name)
I'm pretty sure you actually spelt it correctly
Just call him Al
michael howard HIS.NAME.IS.AEOFEL!
Then call him Al. We all do.
That was hearsay it was not stated as fact.
played this mod with a group and it lasted like 3 months playing once a week lol
Whwt mod is this?
@@xaviercarbonneau3763Keep on the Shadowfell for 4e.
are they playing 5e?
wingscancer This was recorded back in 2008, so it would've been 4th Edition.
+Vital Blurs DnD
This was recorded a few months before 4th edition came out, it was the prototype 4e if I remember correctly

scott forgot not to eat in the mic, it is the most annoying thing ever to hear on a podcast. i had to skip to the next part because of it.
is there a sumary of this, cause its sorta boring with only the sound
