Nicholas Hearn oh he's an excellent dm, he's just not as good as chris perkins and he also makes it a little tough to listen to the podcast and know what's going on
When 4th ed was still in playtest, I knew a guy who was DMing games in the system. I asked what he thought of the 4th ed. He pointed out the NDA he was under. I then asked, "Ok. After you are done playtesting, what system are you going play?" He then proudly grinned and announced, "Pathfinder!".

Literally dying of laughter because we have a goblin named Splug (Shplug!) in one of our campaigns that our oracle convinced to serve us and then our oracle convinced 300+ ARMY of goblins to fight for us in the name of their God that 'spoke to her' hahaha Splug helped them totally buy it and we gave him the funniest voice. (by the way, the oracle is blind and is literally one of the sweetest little half elves you will ever lay eyes on so we were all surprised that she lied like that hahaha)
Delaying the game? Whats the difference between taking a minute to think about what to do and talking with the other players for a minute about what to do? (Its a real question, i´ve never played before so therefore i am asking)
Tazz EightSixFour What excuse i can't walk down the street without hearing it said at least three times by some kid who thinks he's a badass. Also an average is just that, I never said everyone does, or do you like pulling baseless shit out of your arse?
Moron... "speak to your average x..." does not mean an average of x... it means every average x that you speak to, uses it... And I didn't say YOU were using that excuse, I said every "average x" used it... unless you're saying you're an average Australian youth....
Well, to be fair, if you take a look at the published module they're playing (Keep on the Shadowfell), all of the vampires have an insane +11 to-hit bonus against AC and the Orcus priest has a +8 to-hit bonus against Fortitude. Since the highest AC amongst the PCs seems to be around 17 and Fortitude is often lower than AC, it doesn't seem too unlikely that the enemies scored lots of hits. Also, the vampires have a really high AC of 20. As for the criticals, the dice simply might have fallen in the DM's favor. I think I recall the PCs getting lots of criticals earlier in the show (like episode 1 or 2 or something). I mean, the DM definitely could have fudged the rolls. But the action economy is in the enemies' favor to such a degree that I don't see why he would.
maaaan I keep following cuz I know a lot of people are into this series, but listening to people resolving D&D combat isn't exactly thrilling podcasting....

he's not a bad DM. he's not Chris Perkins but he's actually pretty good. I've played with a bad DM and trust me, this guy is leaps and bounds above him.
Thanks for putting these up Vital Blurs I enjoy them quite a bit
My pleasure. I was surprised no one else had decided to, over the years.
This is more entertaining then TV!
"Jim's magic missile, bitch!"
Man, all the hate for the DM. I like Perkins too but geez. This guy's good too.
Nicholas Hearn oh he's an excellent dm, he's just not as good as chris perkins and he also makes it a little tough to listen to the podcast and know what's going on
Nicholas Hearn there are too many american accents though. They need a brit or an aussie or something to give us some respite.
He is less charismatic. Somehow, it is easier to listen to Perkins for me. But he is a good dm, it'd be nice to play with either of them.
@@TheNomnomnommer If you listen he actually had no clue the show was being recorded for a podcast, so why would he? Also perkins is super over rated.
13:25 is the best bit
DM- she swings her great sword cutting into you “ magic missile me”
JDM- “that’s Jim’s magic missile bitch”
Hahaha best
question wouldn't setting the dwarf on fire cauterize his wounds and keep him from bleeding out??
This is fun, but I'm so glad I started playing after 5e released.

James isn't chris perkins sure, But james is still an amazing DM guy's, stop comparing him to chris, it's hard to follow him up.
He also built 4th ed from the ground up, so it's pretty much his game.
i think i must have missed something. who is splug or whatever its name is? some minion of theirs
A goblin that agreed to follow them in exchange for being spared.

This is great and pretty awesome while you do other stuff, like MGT online, HS :D
The DM mentions using cards for initiative, I wonder if this is what put the seed of the Momentum mechanic from Thornwatch in Mike's head.
Very cool
pure gold
47:55 necromancers can only laugh about deadpan humor.
Haha, you should watch the 2012 pax to see exactly what the DM's usually think of that
because I like you n yalika me anew like the saaaaammmee Orcus. And I just want you to know my naaaaaammmmeee Orcus
what???

What adventure is this? Is it published?
Jim had as much HP here as he did in PAX 2018 lmao
Why did they censor 'cunt'?
Jeff George Bleeps are funny.
+GlazedGamer same over here in Ireland lol especially up North around Belfast
+GlazedGamer HAHAHA... The old, "everybody does it...." excuse... how often does that work??

31:10 why are people so afraid of that word? its just a word after all.

anybody else think the dm was fudging numbers in his favor. He missed only a handful of times yet rolled crits over and over.

You have to be super fun as a player…
Jimmy Wyatt is awesome, you guys know nothing.
Chris Perkins is great, but he's not the be all and end all of Dungeon Mastering
GlazedGamer BLASPHEMY!
You are very wrong
DM faking rolls aaaaaaall the way.

I'm so tired of this dm! I'm gonna skip the episodes he dm's!!! He is so freaking baaaaddd
Seth Owens i dont think he's bad. but then again, i dont know alot about diffrent kinds of dungeon masters.
+Seth Owens This guy is a fantastic DM, as DM's go.
he's not a bad DM. he's not Chris Perkins but he's actually pretty good. I've played with a bad DM and trust me, this guy is leaps and bounds above him.
yeah he isn't bad
I am not fond of this dm either but I dont think that he is borderline bad :/
