Cate Blanchett could do any movie she wanted. Manifesto wont give her millions, or get her more oscars, but it is a killer movie. She is truly commited in doing art and she is an example for all the actors/actresses out there. *I respect her so much.*
It's not a movie... it's an art installation. Saw this at Auckland Art Gallery and it was intense with the sensory overload (all films playing at once), also beautiful and sad. Definitely evokes emotion in viewers.
This was actually a video art installation! I saw it in Berlin and the setup was amazing. For the people saying this is not a good film, what I saw there can hardly be explained; everything happened at once, no matter which character you were focusing on, because different screens showed the different manifestos all at the same time. Was marvellous and I still think about it regularly

i saw it today! it was so incredible. there was a part where all the dialogue harmonized and it sounded like she was singing. left me with uncomfortable chills. so freaking awesome

This is somehow simultaneously the most pretentious yet fascinating trailer. The thought of seeing Blanchett in a dozen roles in a single film is truly electrifying.

These short films have been on display in the NSW Art Gallery for years.
It is actually not really a movie. These are all just different scenes played at the same time. I have seen them in the Art Gallery of Stuttgart (Germany). It was really interesting and a great piece of modern art. Cate Blanchett plays every character perfectly. It was absolutely impressive. I really recommend it to watch😊

There are movies that strike as true masterpiece, then there are good movies but not masterpiece, than there are average movies and then there are from artistic point of view below average movies. But any movie Cate Blanchett plays in, is really masterpiece, as herself is.
@@melodyal3357 I think ppl with your mindset have a very specific notion of what art is, which Ill push back on; art is about intention, so film that might be deemed as “subpar” are still artistic in that there was intention behind the film. There are paintings I would consider to be “ugly” or void of artistic direction but it still constitutes as “art” due to the artist having intention behind it. I don’t want to go on a tangent but I think redefining what art is will allow for a nuanced understanding of it. (I hope you could understand where I’m coming from)

Yea but I doubt she is worried about. She does enough movies to pay the rent I bet with this one she was actually feeling like she was involved in the craft of acting. Maybe its a sign of the times that more money goes into films about comic book characters and I say that with a sense of irony knowing that she is a baddie in one of them. But I like the fact she likes to challenge herself.
It's beat poetry trash. It was crap in the 50's and it hasn't aged well in the intervening years.

stripping away the past to make headway into the future. Cate's acting was solid!
