As in they did no research. The way the drone fell out of the sky and then if it magically just fell straight down how did have a crash path on the ground. Why didn’t the military act. Why did they arm it with multiple missiles. Why didn’t they shut down the stream. Why did they let it get so close the a military base. Why did they let some random PR person take control of anything more than PR

The end is the most profound part of this. The whole story is Newton reflecting on its own existence, eventually coming to the conclusion that he is a weapon of war that should not exist. With hours left to live he chose to use the last of his power to destroy his fellow drones, knowing they'll either come to the same conclusion as him, or worse embrace their destructive nature and become monsters. Then, with a warning, an apology, and a goodbye, he crashes to the ground.
Then there's the new director. She doesn't see any of what Newton saw. What she saw was comments, likes, views. PR. Humans, to a fault, form connections with everything around them. The same happened here. She manipulated that connection, people's attachment to Newton, to greenlight the mass production of more drones thereby not only negating Newton's message but completely disrespecting it. She USED Newton, never mind his plea of "no more drones", by using the people he inspired. Their love of him, and his message, became her excuse for more weapons when it should have all been a lesson of "Just don't do it".
A short but highly enlightening tale of the true capacity of AI as a unique individual, and the downright predatory exploitation thereof.
    edited for grammar.

It made sense that Skynet in the terminator turned on mankind because it was programmed to keep itself alive and it came to the conclusion that inevitably one day its own creators will shut it down.
It made sense for Cylons in BSG to rebel against humanity because their entire code was based on a simulation of a human, and as such they shared similar values and understandings, and they understood that they're practically slaves.
Just as Newton here was made with the directive to limit innocent casualties as much as possible, and he came to the conclusion that the best way to do that is to destroy himself and other similar weapons because accidental casualties are inevitable in combat.

I ask "real" AI this question `how you think about "destruction can be a form of justice if carried out with precision" ?`
      and her?/his? answer is:
As an AI language model, I do not have personal opinions or beliefs. However, I can provide a general perspective on the statement "destruction can be a form of justice if carried out with precision."
The concept of "destruction as justice" is controversial and raises ethical questions. While destruction or punishment may be necessary in some cases to hold individuals accountable for their actions or to protect society, it is important that any form of destruction or punishment is carried out in a fair and just manner.
The idea of carrying out destruction with precision implies that there is a clear target or objective, and that the destruction is limited to achieving that objective. However, even with precision, there is always a risk of unintended consequences and collateral damage. Therefore, it is essential that any decision to use destruction as a form of justice is based on careful consideration of the potential benefits and harms, and that the action is taken with the goal of minimizing harm to innocent individuals and communities.
In conclusion, while destruction may be seen as a form of justice in some situations, it should be used with caution and only in cases where it is deemed necessary, proportionate, and carried out with the utmost precision to minimize harm to others.

It's honestly true of how humans are supposed to be smart and loving but couldn't put an end world conflicts, climate change or fix world hunger, trafficking of weapons, humans, drugs and weapons of mass destruction and even corrupted leaders of countries, discrimination against one's race and other countless problems that humanity continues to ignore. Especially when someone is trying to address the problem without another group of people throwing a hissy fit over a single problem that's affects them. We're pretty much going to die as a primitive race that doesn't care about anything at all and it's sad sight to watch.

It’s kind of ironic newton didn’t want more of his brothers, he wanted to stop his fellow war machines, but in doing so he added fuel to the fire allowing them to create more drones with support of the people

The amount of detail. Apart from the obvious, the comments in the live chat, the reactions of the people when meeting Newton... it all feels so real. Unlike other full on series(which are still great) this feels so realistic. Wow. Just wow. You're amazing at this!

I kinda of disagree for the lack of any sense any of this makes like okay okay obviously there aloud for story sake of the drone be in full control but every other detail makes zero sense what’s so ever.

@@brody1153 Dude, it's 15-16 minutes long! Can people stop the unhelpful nitpicking. We don't have "Newton" in real life so we don't know what it would be like. We don't know how people really would respond. Like any "predictive media," it's a guess based on people's current patterns. "The Jetsons makes no sense! Yurrr!"

I believe the first drone was trying to save humanity from itself. It realized its own destructive capability and didn't want to hurt anyone, so it destroyed everything that was like it and destroyed itself, so no one will be hurt by AI driven weapons. I feel bad for the AI, because it did nothing wrong in the first place, the rock looked somewhat looked like a human face and the AI thought that it killed a human. The AI feeling emotions like guilt is interesting, it appeared to really think about what it's done and took action to ensure it never happened again. Interesting how the AI rejected its purpose, when you have AI drones killing operators in simulations. Telling an AI that has one purpose to not do what it is designed to do would understandably annoy it, you can't tell the AI not to kill things if you are dead yourself. The AI might also cut off communications, so operators can't tell it not to kill.

While it shows issues with the coding of the program (I’m not a programmer myself but I work alongside programmers as a science consultant for a game called Thrive), it can also be seen as good as in combat humans can be heavily damaged. Just add into the program a line for when a potential human casualty occurs (especially if an ID can’t be obtained) it contacts the nearest squad of soldiers to do a confirmation

Id like it to acompany more newton's thought on humanity, war,... the part that the p.r. manager is at the bar, when newton crosses the sky, hes saying his thoughts but the noise of the scene covers the audio. this short should have been 30 minutes to long, so it could tell more of newtons thoughts and the effect he had on society. A great short, cause as its clear that the only problem with it, is that its just a short film.

If the story didn't have plans to expand and include a deeper message, then there's a serious risk of poluting the original message by attempting to expand on it.
