    A well played game from Dubov as he is a very strong player but Caruana is simply something else.
    The amount of positional calculations in this game from the sacrifice till that insane king walk and infiltration of the position is just too damn impressive. It shows how Caruana is an outstanding strategist of another caliber and making the video title is just on spot.

    It feels like Caruana is not even a human, but a cold blood killer. The way he approaches a position is completely emotionless. Doesn't Rxg5! work much better than Bb3 in that endgame? You ensure getting a queen into the game and white needs to make a move before he can queen so you have defending chances.
    E.g. Rxg5!, Kxg5, c1Q!, Kf6 (or wherever as check will follow), Qf1! Kg6 (wherever), Bg8 and then black still has defending chances as he might be able to either find a perpetual or a stop for the pawns depending on how the endgame develops.

    @14:18, why not pick the bishop with the rook with check? King captures or not doesn't matter and next move you promote the black pawn? black can give up the pawn temporarily, will just move bishop to e6 and then white will have his rook in a weird position but also will have no way to protect his passed pawn.

      Because It doesn't check and After that White Queens with check and the White Is up in material. White can also bring into the game a second Queen with the check

      Rxg5 hxg5 c1=Q g8=Q and Bxg8 then Rxc1, otherwise black is getting mated

    At 11:41 why wouldn’t black give up the exchange to get the pawn and bishop? Seems completely winning for black imo.

    Hey Antonio, hope you're having a good day. I wanted to ask which mic do you use for recording videos, I'm thinking of starting a youtube channel and looking for a decent mic that's not too expensive.

    At time 14.18.....I have doubt what if black rook capture bishop on g5 with check....king capture means....promoting black pawn to queen with check or if pawn capture rook...promoting pawn with queen ....black will be better right???

    11:40 - why couldnt black just exchange a rook for a bishop & a pawn at c7?

  • @panda4247
    @panda4247 5 років тому +1

    Dear Antonio,
    As much as I love your videos, I have noticed that you make more mistakes lately (or I got better at noticing them, lol), which is a pity. Please doublecheck your preparation of side-lines before recording.
    11:03 "again you cannot capture the bishop (nxd6), because (recapturing with the white knight) just wins".
    That is actually not true. Since the king is now on e8, recapturing with the knight would not come with a check, so actually the rook could pick up the passed pawn Rxc7+ , and engine prefers black now.
    After the initial Nxd6 by black, white should recapture with the king to defend the pawn.

    what if black instead of 75....Bb3 plays 75....Rxg5+. After 76.Kxg5 black queens with check 76....c1Q+ and is all over. What am I missing?
