A well played game from Dubov as he is a very strong player but Caruana is simply something else. The amount of positional calculations in this game from the sacrifice till that insane king walk and infiltration of the position is just too damn impressive. It shows how Caruana is an outstanding strategist of another caliber and making the video title is just on spot. Fabiano Caruana is a monster and I Can't wait to see his performance in the upcoming candidates.
It feels like Caruana is not even a human, but a cold blood killer. The way he approaches a position is completely emotionless. He takes a slightly better position and slowly but surely converts it to advantage. The way he plays reminds me the way spider catches the fly. Slowly but surely. True spider of chess.

14:17 after Rc6 couldn't Dubov play Rxg5#? Because if King captures you queen on c1 with check, and if he doesn't capture the Rook is guarding g8 so there's no queening and forcing Bxg8 followed by Rxc1 no?
14:17 why dubov didn't capture bishop g5 with rook? It comes with a check, forcing white King to capture or lose the g7 pawn. Dubov can then promotes to queen c1 and it comes with a check, making it playable for black to continue the game

hxg5, c1=Q, +g8=Q, if king moves +c8=Q, if bcxg8 then rxc1
Doesn't Rxg5! work much better than Bb3 in that endgame? You ensure getting a queen into the game and white needs to make a move before he can queen so you have defending chances. E.g. Rxg5!, Kxg5, c1Q!, Kf6 (or wherever as check will follow), Qf1! Kg6 (wherever), Bg8 and then black still has defending chances as he might be able to either find a perpetual or a stop for the pawns depending on how the endgame develops.
@14:18, why not pick the bishop with the rook with check? King captures or not doesn't matter and next move you promote the black pawn? Bishop still covers whites' queening square and at the same time blocks the rook so you cant capture the queen, and if the rook captures the queen recaptures and still eyes whites' queening square. What am i missing?
White will capture with the H pawn then there's no check. Next would be G8 Queen and black has to capture to avoid quick mate and will lose his promoted queen as well.
