There’s no doubt Firouzja is a tremendous prospect, but Fabi was playing at an extremely high level here. AF’s inexperience of playing the VERY top players is showing, but he will only improve. Fabi very solid and Magnus back to imperious again. Agad on the ball as ever.
well fabi's classical games surely is at super high level..even if we get the analysis engine between fabi and carlsen or any top players..fabi still get the best analysis.. he just weak in time like blitz games
Totally agree, Fabi is a monster especially in these types of active positions, Alireza will learn and get stronger, we will know by the time he is 18 how far he will go.
Never apologize for posting too much, I went from a measly 900 player to a 1750 player in a year watching all your videos religiously. Thank you so much and keep up the amazing work!!
Tough to see back-to-back losses for Firouzja. But those were two mega-masters to lose to. That's a murderers row to get through and the kid came out not so bad. Look forward to everything he does. Firouzja, I'm a fan.
Any dislike we (temporarily) have is when he complained about Carlson. That was childish. BTW, I left home at 16 with a college scholarship overseas and never lived with my parents and had to 'grow up' very rapidly or else. This kid left home, too, as Iran is unstable and ruled by brutes so I feel for him but he chose this hard road and good luck to him, may he prosper in the future. He has bitten off a lot this year! We should all cheer him on, win or lose.
6:56 "Those of you that decided to grab the pawn, you just lost the game terribly." I feel personally attacked. This describes about 60% of my games xD. This is an awesome game, though!
There are many uncertainties in my life and in our universe as a whole. However after years of pondering about all of the big questions humanity has to face I found that one unchangeable constant that always applies. It comes in many ways and variations and different temporal intervals but it always starts with a good old refreshing: Hello Everyone!
I can't tell exactly what happened out there, but Alireza had some good results in past games and he seems like a nice kid in the interviews. I was hoping he would win this game. Maybe this will help him get his 16 year old brain in gear.
Hi agad! I like what it seems to be a new trend in your thumbnails which is to put both players foto in it as putting only one uses to be some kind of spoiler (I am writing this only 2 seconds into the video). Thanks for the great work!
I was very surprised Alireza didn't play h5...I see him as having very good intuition for what the position requires. Very similar to how engines think, not afraid at all to compromise king safety cause they know there's no real threat in a long time.
I think todays defeat was different than yesterdays. Carlsen really crushed him posiitonally whereas versus Caruana, Alireza deliberately went into a sharp variation where both players can go wrong after the slightest missstep. I knew round 9 and 10 would be very hard for him. Hoped for atleast 1/2 point though.
hi agadmator just want to say thank you , one year back I started playing chess, in chess.com blitz rating was 435 now i just reached 1200 ;your videos were really helpful
I don't know others, but one of my happiest and free moments of the day is when i watch agadmator's uploads. I prefer them a thousand times over any trendy Netflix series.
Alireza made a very clever choice to play the KID. He had a practically a winning game It's an opening that most likely didn't get Caruanas feared opening prep at the best level since the Makagonov is far from the most dangerous lines vs the KID
Despite losing, Firouzja showed a great deal of class by going for this sacrifice. He was down a piece for so many moves and understood the position as being near equal. Until that mistake (...Kf8) his position was fine despite being a piece down.
01:02 The Pawn called "Andy Now" moves. Later at 01:20 the Knight called "Andy Now" moves and several seconds lated at 01:27 another pawn called "Andy Now" moves too :)
I think the knight exchange for pawns was the game changer , it would work well in blitz , but in classical , probably a slow death if playing against fabi.
At 7:01 if he did take the pawn I think he would've probably blocked Q f5 check with bishop d3. He still loses knight, but maybe more playable game for him than moving king A1. I could be very wrong, but just my opinion.
