my stand is a free discarded IKEA table that I cut off in 5 pieces and screw it on top of another identical free discarded IKEA table (I only had to buy the legs)
Buy some PVC Pipe or use whatever else you want, could even use copper wire to manage your cables below the desk. Cut PVC pipe into many small sections (2cm ish), cut along side and drill to underside of table. Super clean super cheap. Again you can use anything. Trays are too big, obtrusive and expensive
I learned one thing when redoing my setup for the third and final time. A super clean and minimalistic setup (for me) isn't always the nicest. I have more of a "cockpit" style" - PC, audio gear and monitors kind of hug me. Much more pleasant and comfy. Also - you will always benefit from desk space. If you want to and can, invest in a cheap monitor arm (got mine for dual monitors for 25 euro). Massive space savings. Of course, if you're using monitors with super generic stands. If you have some with great adjustments (height, tilt, swivel etc) then probably not a good idea. Unless you invest into a more expensive arm. I find mouse/deskpads a pain. If you like them, use them, but don't feel forced to buy one. They only dampen the sound of your keyboard and mouse (if you haven't figured out a way to dampen your keyboard) and can be useful for competitive fps gaming (mouse). I don't use one but if I were to get one for comp fps, I'd just get one for the mouse and take it out whenever I needed to. For casual gaming, I don't ever need to.
I really like the stand and its functionality. I thought it was going to be stupid but it combines so many things into one it would probably clean up cables on your desk.
Yes I have docking monitor stand. Mine is a $40USD Silverstone one, it has 4x USB 3.0 ports, audio & mic jacks & an option to power on/off my pc and I find it’s invaluable and allows me to run my rgb wall lights, wireless mouse 🐭 & keyboard from it and leave my 10Gbps USB 3.2 ports on my motherboard for file transfers and high bandwidth devices.
I know people usually don't talk about sponsors in videos except to complain. But I will say thank you Kyle for the CD Key offers discount, recently went through upgrading the motherboards on a few computers and previously used Kinguin for all my keys. The keys were never bad, I just hated having to go through customer support and spouting digits at someone for 30 minutes. Bought 2 windows 10 keys from CDK and they worked immediately, didn't have to call anyone up to get a verification code. Thank you again!
These docks seem real useful, I love the ports and bluetooth addition given how rare bluetooth actually is for desktop PCs. However that price tho -- would really prefer an option that was a little more cut back. No wifi, no rgb maybe? Or those are probably the cheapest parts of the entire thing so it wouldn't cut the price enough to matter.
I use a two tier monitor stand. Both are made of tempered glass for easy cleaning. The first layer is 27" long and I'm able to slide my keyboard and Wacom tablet under the glass which gives me room for other (non computer) projects. The second layer measures 20" and I position my Mac Mini and Dell Optiplex 7040 side by side and move between them using a KVM switch. My Dell 27" monitor sits on the top layer in the horizontal position at its lowest setting. But because of the distance from the top of the desk I am able to rotate the monitor in the vertical position when necessary. I'm pretty sure I spent less than $50 total for both stands. When I upgrade to the Mac Mini M1 (later this year hopefully) I will probably add a Satechi Type C Hub for added ports and a SD card reader. I don't need a phone charger.
This would be awesome. Very practical. Never thought people would run into the problem of putting their keyboard on the legs of the screen. So a stand like this would be convenient for desk space.
An interesting ‘case’ study for you to try, split into 3 questions: 1. How much/many 140mm based radiators (e.g. multiple mixes of 420mm and/or 560mm) would you need to be able to passively cool (WITHIN the same case as the components) a top of the range (eg RTX 3090 and AMD 9 5950X or a threadripper) fully water cooled system (at least GPU, CPU) at full over clock, to within 5 degrees of ambient temperature with the fans set to their absolute lowest possible speed, and not really needing to spin at all under normal load? 2. Which off the shelf cases (max spending limit of $1,000 for the case) can fit all those radiators at the same time? 3. If there are no cases which you can buy off the shelf which can fit those radiators at the same time within the system case, which case would you buy off the shelf as a starting point, and can you show us a step by step followable guide to how to mod the case so it CAN fit all those radiators? Try and keep the modifications to methods that people could DIY with only moderate access to power tools. Can you demonstrate/show us such a system in action, and give us a rough idea of total cost for the case and total cooling system (e.g. presumably if there are loads of radiators, a more powerful pump would be needed)?

if you're good with your hands and have tools it's a dope DIY project. I put a wireless charging pad in my desk flush so you just place the phone on the desk and it just starts charging you can't even see the pad. I also cut out a small section of the desk and installed a usb dock and covered it with an adhesive wood finish that matches the desk so it has usb ports. Wasn't hard or expensive at all you just need the know how. But I also just love make cool stuff and customizing everything lol.
Picked one of these up for the minimalistic standing desk work only setup I am putting together for my new place. Thanks for making this video! This thing has alot of stuff I can definitely use
This is a Cadillac compared to my monitor stand. I made mine from a shelf I got at Lowes and some hairpin legs I got off amazon. I also double side taped a USB hub to the side of it so it's super fancy. You can see ALL the wires so you know they aren't up to anything.

If you're already broke like me, can also make sort of a drawer shelf to put a desk mat, mouse and keyboard on, it also makes cable managent really easy and makes the desk look really clean, with lots of free space. It can keep you farther away from the screen, but with bigger screens that's not really an issue.

Dual mount monitor arm clamped to the back edge of my desk for me. Gives me back even more desk real estate. Since I can have one of my monitors extend past the edge of the desk.
I have a small desk an paperwork and things tend to end getting cluttered onto it, so I've always used monitor stands more as additional desk space - giving me a space to stash away the unsightly clutter that I need to have to hand but don't necessarily want to have in sight at all times, while still having the surface area looking as neat and tidy as possible. This product looks perfect because of the RGB mostly - though the fingerprint sensor and bluetooth may come in just as handy. I might pick one of these up for my test bench area for just this purpose, a place to shove the keyboard(s) out of the way when I need to build on the work surface / mod mat.
I like it. Been using something to elevate my monitor for years. Right now using an old DVD player. Looking for something different. This looks perfect.

I much prefer monitor arms over stands. I'd love to see these guys make a hub you could attach to the side or bottom of the monitor with the same features (such as the fingerprint reader), that easily routes from the box you would attach to the back of the monitor, then into a monitor arm.
I left for a few months i come back and kyle is skinnier and looking better. Im in a I.T class in 11th grade and glad to have him as a channel to help.
I got a monitor stand from Amazon, don't remember the brand, but it has 4 usb 3.0 ports and a wireless charger for about 60 bucks works great ! No rgb though.
I just put my monitor ontop of a rackmount PDU (the kind with switches on front) so I can flip all the LEDs on my periph devices (monitors, speakers, power bricks, etc) off before bed. It works.
I have a glass one, that is basically just that. A stand. It does have USB 2, but I don’t currently have it connected, but I do have a USB 3 dock mounted to it. I’d definitely use a stand like this one. I don’t need the WiFi, but BT would be nice. The RGB looks good. The fingerprint reader for Hello is something I’d use as well.
@@S0K0N0MI donut media or the hacksmith is a great example of it, there is a timer bar over the section of the video that has a sponsor spot, usually, I don't care but recently its been a lot
lol I actually had to install a wifi/bluetooth adapter after the fact. I didn't need either when i bought my x570 board, but at a couple points over the pandemic we ran into internet issues that weren't resolved for several days, and I was REALLY thankful that I'd bought an intel AX200 wifi adapter to get BT 5.1 for testing audio devices and hooking up the PS5 controller, because I ended up using the wifi to tether my phone to my PC for 2 days leading up to thanksgiving. AT&T fiber is awesome but when a tech came out to install another customer 2 houses down from us, he literally unplugged our connection and didn't plug it back in after lmao. Tech came out ON THANKSGIVING and all he had to do was plug a fiber in at the pole xD. Long story short, WiFi is more essential than I have given it credit for, for years now, and I was super thankful to have it. Probably will look at getting a WiFi enabled motherboard in the future if it has the removable WiFi adapter card like laptops tend to use, since I can just upgrade the board with a new one of those once it's needed
I just found out Win + L locks your computer... lmao i would just turn off my computer when i left my apartment so my roommates or whoever was in my apartment didnt snoop around on my computer...nice
CDKeyOffers actually has Windows Server 2019 Datacenter Edition keys! And for like $20! I'm shook! As for monitor stands... I don't currently have one, as the desk my main workstation is on doesn't have the height clearance over the main monitors for a stand, and I have monitors over/around on arms anyway, so that wouldn't work so well for me
I got a CSGOLotto flashback for a moment there... Besides all theses CDKey sites are probably the same damn people running them considering they're all so similar to each other.
I don't like what he's been doing with sponsor bits lately. They're too long, not honest, and there are more of them with one in the middle of the video (could put them towards the end). He also talked about the dock thingie like it's some kind of awesome innovative product, it's just a glorified USB hub with a fingerprint scanner, nothing more. "It's the compact version" wtf no, it's not even the same thing. Hope to see some changes
Nice video Kyle, no problem with that! I do have a problem with that startup price for those things. Give me a slab of oak, an RGB strip, USB-Hub, and a wireless phone charger and I’ll build something for half the cost.
I like it. It's a bit pricey, but if you can afford it, definitely seems like a good get. Even though I plan to mount my monitors, I'd still be interested to have it as a kind of shelf, wireless charger and stowing my keyboard and mouse underneath it. Can even mount a cable holder underneath to house the usb for the wireless keyboard so it's all still visually clean.
Not a bad product. One thing Kyle. Put some carpet tiles on the floor. You may think concrete is easy and chair sliding is good and easy to clean etc. . No matter what you do sound wise I can tell its a solid floor and you'll always get echo sound from it.
I like monitor stands because I have a lot of nick knacks sitting on my desk, but without that monitor elevation the stupid shit I enjoy sitting on my desk obstructs the screen. it also makes more room for a mic or speakers if you have a small desk like mine. Pretty niche use case but thought it should be brought up.
FYI Just checked on amazon, that small one is 200$. SHEESH Pro (25inch length X 10 inch width): 269$ Pro-Max (44 inch length x 18.5 inch width): 329$ Height is the same, give or take 5 mm.
I don't use a stand anymore since my monitor mount is a pole that's bolted to the desk. It's deep enough to have all the room I could ever need. That Dock Standard looks pretty damn useful for me though.
Honestly, I keep my laptop and my external disc drive under mine, so no room for my keyboard, but it's still saving me space. I use the Pout eyes8 because I already have wifi and bluetooth, and have a fingerprint reader in one of the usb slots, so apart from the rgb, I have the same functionality.
aaaahhhhhh ANOTHER GALAXY NOTE20 ULTRA USER!!!!!!!!!!! wooohooooo! im STILL using that phone. i just reset it to factory settings to 'baptise' it from the previous 1-2 years of junk. hubby said he would get me a new/different phone, but i decided to keep this one. it's just so... AMAZING! i love everything about it, it has never had ANY issues, the software updates keep you up to date with everything. it has never glitched or been faulty...
I have a VIVO 39 inch monitor stand from Amazon and I have 2 24-inch monitors on it and all it is is a stand. I could see myself using this one with all the features! But since I already have mine, I’d opt for the standard dock most likely.
I am honestly surprised you haven't gotten a custom mech keyboard yet. Once you get one you will never go back. But as for monitor stands I bought one of those desk clamp monitor arm things and I love it. I have a dual monitor one and its perfect. I have so much more room now. I also went from that exact same keyboard (well a k55 but same size) to a tkl keyboard and that cleared up so much space its crazy. Yes I do some what miss the number pad but you get used to not having one pretty quick. Surprisingly it wasn't the numbers but the right hand enter key I miss most.
I was looking around for a stand for my MSI MAG241C 2 years ago when I was building my first PC and could not find one that I liked. This is exactly what I was looking for!
My desk came with it’s own monitor “shelf” built in and I love it. I can slide the keyboard back out of the way and it gives me more room where the monitor would be.
This thing has all of the things I’ve spent money to add to my computer like Bluetooth and fingerprint scanning and extra USB ports. I gave up on WiFi for my desktop long ago.
This is the content I subscribed for! A cool product given an honest opinion with accountability where it matters and just nice aesthetic videographics Overall great video Looking forward to seeing more Kyle!
One thing I didn't catch in the video, and I don't see on LanQ's website - what, if any, RGB ecosystems is the PCDock Pro Max compatible with? If additional RGB is your thing, that feature is great. However, the lack of interoperability between various ecosystems is frustrating, and whether or not this stand works with your existing RGB controls may be an important determinant to some consumers.
I love all the features of that one. I am currently using just a basic ALLSOP Metal Art Jr. 14" wide stands. I like those stands because it does raise up my monitors just enough to align them with my other system a 27"iMac. That being said after seeing these, I am considering an upgrade for all the features these have.
I think this one in particular is more functional and stylish than just a regular dock and stand. Windows Hello and the charger are a nice add-on to it

I much prefer monitor arms over stands. I'd love to see these guys make a hub you could attach to the side or bottom of the monitor with the same features (such as the fingerprint reader), that easily routes from the box you would attach to the back of the monitor, then into a monitor arm.
Still can use this stand for other stuff, depending on the length of your desk.
does it come in my favorite RGB style: off?
Imagine not wanting rgb everywhere 🤡🤡🤡
I hate RGB
I left for a few months i come back and kyle is skinnier and looking better. Im in a I.T class in 11th grade and glad to have him as a channel to help.
I'd love one but I can see it costing a pretty penny.
Yeah too spendy IMO
I got a monitor stand from Amazon, don't remember the brand, but it has 4 usb 3.0 ports and a wireless charger for about 60 bucks works great ! No rgb though.
Way too many baked in ads, Kyle.
I just put my monitor ontop of a rackmount PDU (the kind with switches on front) so I can flip all the LEDs on my periph devices (monitors, speakers, power bricks, etc) off before bed. It works.
so early, lyle hasn’t even commented
Yeah
He's not fighting static, he's fighting cancer.
Love your videos but 2 ads on a sponsored videos is a bit too much
mans going through a divorce. cut him some slack.
@@PabzRoz oh yea, you are right
My wife might just end up with one of those for her two monitors. she's always wanting functions like what that provides. excellent.
PLS PUT A TIMER BAR ON UR NEW ADS
i dont mind there is more ads now but pls do the timer bar on the bottom
.. theres ads?
@@S0K0N0MI i mean the sponsors the in video ads
I don't currently have one, as the desk my main workstation is on doesn't have the height clearance over the main monitors for a stand, and I have monitors over/around on arms anyway, so that wouldn't work so well for me
Ooo that acc looks rlly nice lmao, I'm 5 seconds in
Thats pretty cool, beats the hell out of the stack of books we used back in the day
fr lol
you're going a little hard on the sponsor ads lately. no me gusta nada
It has wireless charging! Damn! I need that at work! Very nice demo! Thank you Kyle!!!
"Cool site I found"
It's a sponsored bit. Kyle, you're usually better than this.
I just built my first PC not long ago and have been using it more often for work. This would definitely be a game changer/upgrade to my set up 😃
“Congrats to Everyone who is early and who found this comment💜
Thats actually really cool! This could make work at my desk a lot more comfortable and more enjoyable. Great Video! Thanks
Not a bad product. One thing Kyle. Put some carpet tiles on the floor. You may think concrete is easy and chair sliding is good and easy to clean etc. . No matter what you do sound wise I can tell its a solid floor and you'll always get echo sound from it.
Thanks for linking the stands in the video discription! Oh wait...you didn't...good job.
I thought it was just me, but couldn't find it.
FYI
Just checked on amazon, that small one is 200$. SHEESH
Pro (25inch length X 10 inch width): 269$
Pro-Max (44 inch length x 18.5 inch width): 329$
Height is the same, give or take 5 mm.
I would like to see a version with built in monitor mount and perhaps a way to secure it to the desk but this product alone is a keeper, well done.
Hey! I used to have that monitor. The colors washed out about a year after buying it.
I gave up on WiFi for my desktop long ago.
out of sight out of mind and out to the side - Kyle be rapping
This is the content I subscribed for!
A cool product given an honest opinion with accountability where it matters and just nice aesthetic videographics
Overall great video
Looking forward to seeing more Kyle!
Monitor stands are great when you're taller and are using the base monitor stands over an adjustable VESA arm/stand.
I watched a video about a monitor stand. And I'm glad I did. Thanks for the video.
I'm really glad that i have the same desktop background 😁😁😁
This is the first time I’ve seen Kyle show his video as an ad.
I know right lol
Tell them to put an M.2 slot or heck even a 2.5 or 3.5 inch bay. It'd be neat to have those features added to external storage.
happy to see you doing well kyle!
I think this one in particular is more functional and stylish than just a regular dock and stand. Windows Hello and the charger are a nice add-on to it
I love being able to sign in with fingerprint. The stand is nice cuz you get a bit more storage cuz you have a bit of a shelf
Kyle: I'm focusing so much on cable management in my builds and my desk builds.
Me watching all the spaghetti under the table: man you clearly need to step up your game ✌️😂
