just came back to frank after 3 years and he has not changed, looks like hes still editing his own videos and everything still feels up to the high standard it was before. cant say the same for all tech creators since ive left the space. but i am glad that frank has kept his standard up and continues to pump out passionate videos
Frank P and The Deal Guy are the only two that I think the same about. I just them a couple of years in a row depending on the holiday or hitch season is ending. That’s how you find sales
I actually picked up a Fio R7 last week after seeing all its capabilities. The only shortcoming it has is the slight delay it has in sound if you plug your computer in thru the USB input, but otherwise this thing is absolutely incredible and a bargain for what it is.
@@banksajay3320 The solution is simple, all you have to do is connect your computer to the Fio R7 through a different input source (optical, coaxial, or Bluetooth). The usb connection delay is only a real problem if you’re a video editor like me and need the audio synched perfectly with the video, or when doing things like playing games. If you’re just using your computer for other general purposes or listening to music, it’s not an issue really, but thankfully the workaround is very simple and a non-issue in my opinion.
Heyy Frank. just wanna say it's good seeing you pumping out videos after videos for these past few days. keep it up man. i can see that the viewer counts also been improving. hope all is good for you.
FrankPP, longtime viewer. Glad to see youre pumping vids out man. Bought a few things off your vids over the years. Feels like I grew up with you at this point in asulthood. Would definitely like to see more higher pricepoint stuff in the future!
A tricked out single-board computer, a amp/dac/digital audio player combo, and a lenses collar which I never knew existed nor that I wanted. You've pleasantly surprised me with this video.
1:45 I give you mad respect for showing my childhood game being played on what is essentially a wallet sized pc... I was like "man I already have a nintendo wii running natively, a gaming pc and a steam deck that can blow this out of the damn water" and I was glad I was proven completely wrong as most android phones that I have used like the nord n10 5g (my personal driver) has difficulties running this game and is how i benchmark gamecube games on low powered devices capable of running them. definitely gonna keep my eye on improvements to later models of this little guy in the future
For the khadas edge, there are now some ryzen options that are the same size, so add windows to that same form factor and a plenty zippy processor and its cool af.
@@timodeurbroeck9957 hmm, companies like Beelink / Minisforum seem to make ok ones I guess for something fast but they are quite expensive compared to rk3588s based systems like this khadas. If you search around for ryzen mini pc there are quite a few options but still many are kind of pricy for what they are. Honestly you would be probably be cheaper and have more fun grabbing a 64gb steam deck and a cheap dock or so ? 🤭. They are slower than the latest ryzen chips used in mini pcs by quite a bit, so it really depends on how much you expect from a device. Still they should be a magnitude faster than 3588 I guess... a middle ground ? With the added bonus of also being a handheld hehe. You can sometimes grab ryzen laptops with dedicated nvidia gpu for cheaper than some mini PCs, but then it's not quite mini.
I wanted the R7 when I first heard about it, but now I don't understand it's purpose. It doesn't let you mix any audio sources, not even PC and the Android. Why would I want to mute my computer just to listen to spotify on another device? I don't understand why no one offers a good solution that mixes outputs, it's so annoying. Am I the only person in the world who wants to listen to music while theyre in a meeting?
@@agent_artifical I was hoping to use it to mix my record player, so I wouldn’t want to mess up the analog signal by making it digital (not that there’d really be any quality loss but still, it’s the principle of the matter)
The Fio R7 I hope would get Android system updates. Coming with an already very outdated OS, I would worry in 5 years that it will be incompatable with apps and updates... not to mention the security updates.
If you're into high end audio, I would recommend checking out the Kali IN-5 studio monitors. There's also the IN-5c's which from what I know are exactly the same, just has hardware to mount them.
@@playon6481 I am already blessed with two LG 27GL850s and the OLED is 100 percent a want (which is why I'm saving for it). But I have done some art and animation work on a friend's 4k OLED and stuff just pops and I get a lot of real estate to work with. I agree that 1440p is enough honestly... but the same can be said with just getting 100 usd dac/Amp and using your phone instead of buying that sweet, sweet Fio
Rotating camera mounts aren't anything new, but the Atoll you featured is significantly cheaper than rotating mounts available 10+ years ago. I have a Manfrotto mount from 2010 that cost $180, if I recall, and Manfrotto doesn't make it any more
Pro tip: The Khadas is REALLY overpriced specially since it uses the RK 3588s which is a downgraded version of the more powerful RK3588, An Orange Pi 5 Plus 16GB (with the more powerful RK 3588) with fan, acrylic case and power adapter is around 190-200 euros. If you don't mind the simpler case (transparent acrylic) you will save around 190 euros with the Orange Pi 5 Plus and you get a better processor too.
It’s so cool seeing people using the WorkLouder keyboard, I have followed them from when they were barely getting started via LinkedIn it was honestly really cool and their new keyboard is FIIIIIIIRE
Never thought I’d see such weird niche keyboards on such a mainstream channel, especially as one of your favorites. I’ve known of work louder products for a while and they look so unique.
I’ve wanted one of those Fiio monstrosities for so long now. That’s what I’ve been waiting for. Just so expensive. Looked for other options too but nothing that offers the same. I’ve even looked at DIYing one but nothing does it for my like the FiiO. Still down to build something myself since I don’t need every feature, hoping the open source community likes this as much as I do. 🤞
That 47 is definitely on my wish list. I work a various theaters and need a payback for pre/post show that is easy to take with me. I had using my phone for obvious reasons and using my laptop sometimes is a hindrance. Very cool!
Man I would love that FIIO R7 for my setup, just absolutely can’t justify the price. It’s over $1100 kangaroos here in Aus, and I have a DAC/AMP. It’s SO cool though.
Hi Frank, thanks for the video of these cool tech gadgets. Sorry if I'm veering off but may I know where did you get your Apple Watch strap in this video at 9:55? I really love the topographic design and would like to get it. Thanks!
That DAC is a fumble imo. great device, but you better believe when I saw that I was hoping it was some sort of grand interface for being able to run music and etc through the device as well as keep track of things and even phone calls in one place. The fact that it basically is just a hub after you plug it into a PC is definitely sad.

It there a way to fix the delay through software? Or is it a limitation of the device?

Last 3 videos have been bangers! Really like the R7 and the mini PC. Very practical use items, that I've never seen before.

Love the music choice Frank P
I think you cracked the code Frank, let’s keep seeing the content 👍

My dude has been on a roll with these videos lately. Great content and pacing.
Fam. You gotta take out that GTA clip at 2:40. There’s some unapproved simulation happening in that back room LOOOOOOOOOL😂😂😂
I love the sleek psp go in the background. For being a system over 10 years old, still looks very very modern
These products are amazing! Hope these companies don't raise the price on them like the ones in your previous videos did

I agree, I even hate when some iPhone apps don’t let you play other audio in the background. PCs have made this easy for decades
just use voicemeter and plug a phone with aux over line in to your pc.
