Firstly, this was a little embarrassing to post, but I knew everyone out there had a similar reaction to mine, so I wanted to share my joy.
Second, My wife was just trying to keep me calm. I constantly talk about this game and how I wanted a remake. She knew how much this meant to me. I have a mild heart condition and there is no game that would have gotten me more hyped up. Please don't be mean, she was just concerned.
Lastly, I am SO excited for this remake and I know everyone else is too. I can't wait to make MORE content and videos around the lore and production of this game. Stay tuned!

Don't be embarrassed one bit! I couldn't watch it when it showed off live cause every time I lost it over and over. Still going thru and watching reactions a month later tells you something. Its TRULY a dream come true.
I don't know why people instantly think negative things. When I saw her try to calm you down, I immediately thought that you getting too excited could be harmful for you so it didn't bother me one bit! Both of your reactions were beautiful. ❤️❤️

I was at work when this was announced, I literally closed my office door and started crying because it reminded me of my childhood, playing the old Super Mario RPG. I wanted to see a remake for so long, but I started losing hope that I would ever see one in my lifetime.

You should see how amazing the old style Super Mario RPG looks on the VR. You’d have to sync your desktop to the VR and then get the rom for the game.

The tears are flowing because not only are we getting this, you can instantly tell how much care and detail they did. They WANTED to make a faithful remake. Not a slap dash "modernized" remake.

My best guess is they paid for the license for the characters and got a few developers from the 90's to help out with it. I dont think they got the new developers for square enix since everyones busy with the new final fantasy but with this announcement, i wouldnt rule out a remake of chrono trigger in the future.
imagine if square gave over the IP rights for xenogears to monolith, i would be so stoked man
The old theory that Nintendo has never done this because of rights issues with square has always been a theory, but we don't actually know if it's quite true. Whatever the reason was that finally convinced them to do it (downloads of the game from online service? people constantly asking for geno in smash?), I'm glad we're finally here.
@@dakota7745 My understanding is that Nintendo has always held the rights to the characters, so the SMRPG original characters aren't the issue. (For example, Geno makes a small cameo in the superstar saga games, implying Nintendo could use him at any time if they really wanted to.) However, SMRPG does include several musical scores from the Final Fantasy series, which Nintendo definitely does not own, so that is probably a bigger rights issue than the characters. I have a feeling that what was stopping this from happening all these years involved relationship issues that were bigger than rights and ownership, but that.... is just my own guess.

We made it! I clearly grew up in the era of the "cool kids" because all of the TV shows and video games that I grew up with and loved are now being remade or rebooted. We made it, at last!
I get it man. I got this game as a 6th grade graduation present when I was kid. I was kind of depressed because none of my friends and I were going to the same middle school, but my parents surprised me with this. It was one of the first RPGs I played fully and beat, and is one of my top favorite games of all time. Seeing a remake brings backs lots of memories and feels.
I cried too just like many other 90s kids. This game was my childhood next to Ocarina of Time!

I literally squealed when I saw Mallow and Geno’s updated looks. One of my all time favorite games as well. My childhood returned to me in renewed glory. This really made my day

I got lucky I didn't get to work until later after the direct. I cried. This just makes me realize how much of a timeless gem we had the privilege to play around the time it was prominent.

Aww this is the BEST reaction I've seen - and yes, I did specifically search UA-cam just to see others' reactions. That gasp and wide-eyed look of surprise was absolutely magic. Reminded me of the innocence of youth and how excited we got opening gifts on Christmas day.
His reaction perfectly captured my excitement. I was working from home when this Nintendo Direct was live. I just happened to be in between calls, when my boyfriend showed me the trailer for this game. I couldn't properly react because I was in work mode - this definitely would have been my reaction, if I had the day off. Already cried and know that I will cry the whole way through playing this game! Wish my best friend was still alive to see this game finally come true.

P.S. - What a blindside! Unlike some, I hadn't heard ANY rumors of this game being remade. Just like with Final Fantasy 7, it's a remake that I literally mourned for because I never thought that the gaming execs would listen to the true fan base and ever remake these games. Both are 2 of my top 5 favorite games of all time.

The crazy part was my other "favorite game of all time" got a remake announcement right after this (star Ocean 2) I was floored. What a great direct. My favorite of all time.

Man as a guy who grew up with this game I feel ya. I was watching this direct with my 10 year old son and Iost my mind as soon as the music started then REALLY lost it once I realized it was a remake not a "its coming to snes on switch " thing.
I didn't think i could be more hyped after pikmin4 and suikoden remasters but dang Nintendo did it again.

Honestly, the best reactions are the ones where emotions run free here and ive watched a lot of reactions to this news come with childhood nostalgia rushing back. I don't mind seeing a happy Sol being excited and stoked for a really great game from the past come to fruition in the modern era. We never would have expected Square Enix to finally let the reigns go in this license tight game with Nintendo. Yay!!

@@SolaceAndDread I like them both and think Mallow had the better story arc, but I've stanned Geno since I was five because Angel Pinocchio with guns and lasers. Hard not to think he's cool.
