Again, incredibly embarrassed but I want to share this joy with people. (And some of what I saw in changes to combat/story.)
I know so many of you feel the same way I do.

Don't be embarrassed or apologize! I loved your reactions. I'm 33 and Mario RPG is one of my favorite games of all time, and one of the two games that got me into gaming and RPGs in the first place (the other being FFIV). It's so touching that this game holds a special place in so many people's hearts. The announcements got me emotional too as well as seeing so many people celebrate and/or cry. I'm so excited to play it and haven't shut up about it since the original announcement. I'm so happy a whole new generation of gamers get to experience this game just like we did.
Is there a reason you are so emotional? Did a big life change happen whejln it came out?

To anyone who makes comments about Solaces' emotional reactions...I am sorry you have never experienced excitement/passion on such a level. We are human. We have these emotions for a reason. Suppressing our feelings make us less human.

It is not at all embarrassing! If anything it shows the true passion you have for this game. And besides, you crying is not sad or embarrassing. It was tears of pure happiness (not to mention adorable as fuck) and I so wanted to give all the hugs for it.
Hugs are an acceptable form of currency in this kingdom

I also shed a tear one the first announcement. I am mid 30s a father with a hidden passion for gaming and when I saw Mario RPG remake announcement in front of my wife's family I gasped audibly...I had to tlell everyone about Mario RPG right there and then. hahaha the puzzled faces....
It's so awesome that you can change between the OG and new soundtracks too in the overworld anytime you want

I don't know if it is impulse or something like that, but I find myself crying with Solace, some people don't understand this game is our childhood, I even remember reading a Nintendo Power magazine saying that the first Paper Mario game was going to be Super Mario RPG 2. God I was so stoked when I learned that.
There are people that will never understand. But I'm not here to resonate with them, I'm here for people like you, like us, that feel as passionate about gaming as a culture.
I'm guessing you having such strong emotions for it is because it reminded you of happier times when you were younger. And when playing it, makes you wish you were back in those times! I think that way too sometimes. Our growing up in the 80s and 90s was so much better compared to now

Buddy, let me say today was a day for RPG fans to cry and be in joy. Mario RPG fans waited nearly 30 years for this remake and it's thanks to the fans, Paper Mario fans got TTYD remaster which they're happy because it's back to formula and FF7 fans got massive news on FF7 rebirth and it's being very faithful which also includes the mini games.
If people complain it's because they're disappointed that a title they wanted was not shown and sometimes those people want others to feel what they do. Ignore them and continue to do what makes you happy. 👍

Also I get your excitement over this game and I feel the same way you did. This was one of my favorite games of all time and one of my most wanted remakes. I honestly didn’t think it get one ever, so imagine my surprise when it was announced! This, Pokémon G/S/C and Majora’s mask were my most wanted remakes! I also always wanted Dora in smash so I’m beyond ecstatic!

If I recall, you actually could get a (mini?) boss fight with Booster if you failed at the curtain game several times. I forget the exact trigger, but it was possible to have an optional fight with him.

Favorite game of all time right here. Also, you can fight Booster in the original, but you have to fail the curtain mini game as I recall.

One of the coolest things that would be amazing is if they added another playable character. In the Japanese box art had Yoshi on the cover with all the playable characters. If that was the case, I’d be over the moon. That’s what Square Eniox did with the Dragon Quest 5 remake adding the 3rd bride to choose, and Persona 5 Royale did with the extra playable character.
I've already paid off my preorder. I feel ya bro. I would have been 100% satisfied with just a updated graphical game. But they are now giving us MORE replayability. AND triple attacks. Like, figuring out these boss fights is gonna feel brand new again. I can't wait.
For real. And the fact that it's not even 60... wild.

@@SolaceAndDread I'll use Monster Hunter as an example. Every time a new one comes out it feels like the game is easier but the fact is that I am better at the game. Get what I'm saying?
That's basically the exact same reaction Sora got out of me. Which is embarassing to think about in hindsight, considering I was following his reveal in Smash to report it for a site.
Do you want to know the heartwarming thing about it, though? You have the same dynamic I and my GF have: I go apeshit over announcements, she calms me down. You reminded me so much of us, it's adorable!

I believe the splash damage buff on timed attacks is only for frame-perfect hits. I’ve seen people say that the Japanese site confirmed this, but I’m not sure. The one thing that makes me unsure is, like you said, I don’t think we’ve seen a single timed attack without the splash damage. We’ll see

Either way, even if they’ve made the buff constant, I want to believe they’ve balanced the game around it. They’ve announced the game will have selectable difficulties, so that at least gives me hope that we can unlock a harder difficulty. The post-game boss rematches clearly don’t mess around, so they don’t seem shy about offering some challenge. Everything about this remake looks stellar, and I can’t imagine they’ve inexplicably made the game even easier than it was on the SNES. That seems really pointless for a “beginner’s RPG” in 2023. We’ll see, but I have high hopes for this.
here's something that just crossed my mind, in the original the max level was 30 will they keep that in the remake or increase the max level?
Seeing as there's post-game content, I'm gonna guess you can level higher. Maybe. I feel like a lot of the "numbers" got adjusted
