Menopause causes hot flashes that make me sweat all over several times a day. I bathe twice a day. It was also either Menopause or having Covid that made some foods (and myself) smell very strange to me to me now. Also I smell weird now too to myself.
I'm on the other side of menopause and dealt with this too! I read that at different stages of our life, our scent changes. You have the 'new baby' sweet smell, teenage stage where you can smell 'ick' and then there's the 'older person' smell. I guess all we can do is keep fresh and clean and hydrate ♡
If you use prescription Estrogen either in patches or pills this will stop all the sweating. Also keeps you looking younger. I know they say replacement hormones are dangerous but those were old studies. I hav3 been using for years and have no problems.
Menopause changes everything...funky ...my advice natural fibres in clothing...clean foods...im big on hygiene too..also I found magnesium helps me heaps for sleep the flushes and smells..
There was a guy in residence at university who smelled so bad, everyone talked about it behind his back. He really did smell that bad, underarm stench. One night I got up the nerve to talk to him personally about it, I had a few drinks and brought it up. He didn't realize it was bad he said and went to the dr. He was wearing deodorant so he wasn't sure why it would still smell. He came to me a week later and thanked me, he had some issue where only a certain deodorant would work. It might be the bacteria thing in the hairs I forget but he didn't smell anymore and people stopped talking about it behind his back. ❤
Hi Dr. Dray, can you do a video about excessive facial sweating and treatments? I’ve struggled with excessive sweat on my face and scalp for years, and I don’t hear a lot about solutions for that specific issue. Love your videos! 😊
Ugh it drives me nuts, especially in hot weather. It’s one of the reasons I want to save up for lasik. Wearing glasses sucks because they fog up and slide off my face, but it also gets into my eyes if I wear contacts.
I use apple cider vinegar in my arm pits after bathing and before putting on anti-perspirant, when I have “smelly” days. I use it for a couple of days and then I am good for a few days.
Thank you! Going to try all three of the products listed in the info. Knowing I'm not the only one experiencing these issues, I don't feel like a freak. Much appreciated.
After my partial hysterectomy, I stopped smelling under my arms and down below. I still sweat (on the top of my chest which is really bizarre!), but it doesn't have that BO smell like after a workout. And I'm post menopausal. Our bodies are so weird!! Lol
I use benzoyl peroxide for 2-3min and then soap in the shower every day, I use deodorant twice a day, I soak my shirts and bras in Oxiclean for 12-24 hours before washing in enzyme detergent, and my scrub tops (work clothes) get the soak PLUS a wash in special activewear enzyme detergent PLUS a second wash in regular enzyme detergent. I switched to a cream deodorant that washes off my skin and out of my clothes instead of trapping odor like waxy formulas did. I'm vegetarian and I rarely drink. I'm still stinky fairly often, especially when I work up a sweat in my synthetic fiber scrubs. However, every single thing I've listed here has helped, and when I skip even one step, I notice that my body odor gets really bad again. The only thing I won't do is go back to antiperspirant. I switched to an AHA deodorant without antiperspirant a couple years ago and my hydradentis supparativa completely went away in my underarms. I think that letting my sweat glands "breathe" and the exfoliation are responsible!
Being Indian, your advice on BO helped a lot . Indians get a lot of racist comments because of our BO. We are called smelly curry on internet. I am sharing these tips wirh all ny family and friends so that they can also combat this issue. Thanks Dr. Dray
It’s so bad. When we get our colleagues from our office in India visit , the stench is off the charts. I feel embarrassed for them and they are so nice. I think it really just having a polite conversation with ppl and let them know. They don’t now they smell but I think are open to the conversation. I think one of our Indian colleagues in NYC told them. Sometimes that’s all it takes having a polite and constructive conversation
@@ninobk196 I agree , there is no point of keep having the same issue when there is a solution and that too an easy one. I use Benzoyl peroxide after watching Dr Dray and I have literally stopped smelling. Indian men smell worse. When my friend had her first *** the husband was sweating so much that she started smelling like him. She immediately took a bath. I called her to share benzoyl peroxide hack.
I never want to be racist about it, but it is something I noticed is common among Indian folks. I assume since it's so common that it's more of a culture thing. BO isn't inherently bad, and I wonder if we over wash in western culture, but curious if there is a possible explanation for why it's so common.
BENZOYL PEROXIDE PSA: If you have hair under your arms, benzoyl peroxide will soak up inside the hair, and then particularly when you sweat to any minor degree, it will come out and bleach whatever touches there (shirts, bedding, etc.). This is something you never hear, because the people talking about it (on youtube) are generally all people who shave under their arms, it's just a giant collective blind-spot they have. I did that for years. The alternative I have been using for a couple weeks now is The Ordinary glycolic acid 7% toner. I don't smell at all for at least 3 days, sometimes 5-6 (I don't sweat very much at all throughout the day). Apply it liberally, I use a spray bottle to dry skin, and then pat it in. Don't breath it in. I reapply at MOST once every 3 days, still figuring it out there. It will likely be a bit sticky, but the next morning you could wipe it off with a wet towel, or just wait till your next shower and then the days after will be more comfy, though it's not that bad.

In addition to cutting under-arm hair, I would suggest tea tree oil diluted in extra virgin olive oil, 4 drops for each tablespoon carrier oil. Use it as a skin moisurizer and disinfective. It nay help smelly feet. I love this on my face and body , and definitely after a shower, but one must keep it away from eyes. What you think, Doctor?
I had to laugh at the title! Seriously though, in my area, the heat and humidity can be brutal and I sweat a lot anytime I'm outside. So I'm sure there are times that I'm stinky. 😅 Appreciate the tips, Dr Dray! Happy Friday!! I hope you, your sweet momma and little Tybee have a fun weekend. 💜
The sweat block also comes in a wipes and it works wonders for armpits sweat. I purchase some for my teenage sister years ago and few months ago I started using them myself.
Dr Dray did a sensitive/rosacea skincare video about eight months ago, if that would help. Dr. Jenny Liu and Dr. Sam Ellis have some recent ones as well.
When i get depressed and isolate myself i dont bother to shower but when i was younger i would shower before bed and in the morning hich is much better i always use Egyptian cotton sheets and pillow cases or silk pillow cases. I ue a nature deodorant but synthetic fibres are awful for manufacturing body odour on feet and under arms. I would never use an antiperspirant i dont want my sweat glands blocked up. Allegedly all human beings have a personal perfume caused by the pheremones which attract us to one another so I dont want to wash my perfume away altogether. I dislike baths and use shower instead. Hair and scalp can really smell very strong i have noticed that my fairly long hair gets wet at night. I have had an agonising scalp irritation for the last 7 month's origjnally diagnosed as a fungal infection. But after a skin scraping was taken no fungal or bacterial infection was found.
I started using the Panoxyl as a body was trick she mentions (not directly on the sensitive parts!) on the creases where the inner leg and crotch meet which is where I sweat and it has helped take away odor from the sweat.
Sometime ago, I read that some people don't stink, at least not in the underarm area, due to their genetics. They also tend to have dry earwax. I thought that was interesting.
Our fam isn’t prone to smelly pits. It takes days where others take hours to produce their ripe smell. They’re Asian (far east). Heard that’s more common there. Same with the earwax.
It's true, I am one of those people. I have never had body odor. My husband gets so jealous because he has body odor if he doesn't wear deodorant and I don't even have to wear it. Lol

I have 2 clients who have this. I feel so bad for the. Trimethylaminuria (TMAU) is an uncommon condition that causes an unpleasant, fishy smell. It's also called "fish odour syndrome". Sometimes it's caused by faulty genes that a person inherits from their parents, but this isn't always the case. There's currently no cure, but there are things that can help.
You frequently mention ingredients in products that can be potential allergens. I've don't recall hearing you mention an issue with benzoyl peroxide. As someone with a severe benzoyl peroxide allergy (itching, swelling of face, eyes swelling almost shut, blisters on whites of eyes), I'm wondering how common it is.
After showering, I have a sticky film under my arms from deodorant. I cleanse the area with Castile soap, and an African net or exfoliating cloth. Then follow with regular body cleansing. Once I dry off, the stickiness waves “hello”. UGH!!!
Does kidney failure cause body odor? I was recently diagnosed with ESRD, and it seemed like no matter how often i bathed, i had an odor. I don't believe anybody else smelt it, so it could have been thsat last condition you explained. I'm not sure, though.
I got Miradry 3 months ago and it changed my life. After battling armpit odor my whole life and so self conscious about it . I invested the money in the procedure and I can now wear sleeveless cloths

I have soo many natural deodorants none of them worked. They are unscented but not fragrance free. They make you smelled worse when you sweat. See they do not block sweat and that's the real problem
I just know that in China we don't have underarm odor. Maybe is the generic different. But sometimes do see one or two people have it. Maybe 1 or 2% of the population
I think it's natural to have some underarm smell as the body gets rid of toxins from there, I would have to put my nose way into my armpits to smell anything
I have always sweat so heavily and stunk if I get warm. Exercise or just hot weather I am sweating through my bra and undies and the stank is unbearable for me and so embarrassing. My clothes show my sweat and I am a dog walker so thank God I am outside and not in contained spaces but its disgusting. No deodorant has helped so I am going to try the antiperspirant wipes from Sweat Block.

Thank you Dr. Dray. I love your videos. I could use a list of ingredients (actives?) that I am not suppose to get on my eyes, lips, neck, etc or even on my skin in general. And, a list of ingredients (actives?) that I should not use together and why. And, an understanding of what an active is and a list of common actives.
Dr Dray has videos like that, skin care ingredients not to mix and 10 ingredients to avoid in skin care products and skin care active ingredients: what are they?.
Dr. Dray could you please address a smelly scalp/smelly hair? 🙏🏻 One of my sons has this (age 19)..his body does not smell at all, no body odor, but his head has that 'old man smell'. He uses a prescription shampoo from our dermatologist but it is not helping. I have not been back to the dermatologist because they acted like I was crazy and pretended they couldn't smell anything. 😞 It is very strong and his siblings can smell it as well. His entire bedroom smells like it. I'm not sure what to do! He showers daily, sometimes twice a day. The smell remains in his bedsheets no matter how many times I wash them. ☹️ I would be so grateful if you had any recommendations I could try.❤
I use apple cider vinegar (ACV) on my hair to pull off all the build up from shampoo and conditioners. You don’t need a lot to rub into to the scalp. I do it once a month. He may need a few more than that. If you do try it make sure he holds his head back so it doesn’t get in his eyes. My hair feels amazing and clean afterwards. ACV also helps with smelly feet and other body parts. I hope it helps someone.

I think it was caused by having my hair coloured and heat lamp being over used on my scalp i had an agonising irritation for months afterwards. I w using far too much shampoo and now use a 5ml amkunt of baby shampoo and a conditioner in mid lenghths and ends. It nice yo be free of the throbbing, redness, irritation and pain which reduced nd yo tears at times.
I understand!!!! My face sweats horribly and it makes my moisturizer run into my eyes and makes my contacts blurry! I hate it!
me too and I had to stop wearing makeup in the summer because it's so bad and I can't use cream sunscreen because it hurts my eyes when I'm sweating.
Ugh it drives me nuts, especially in hot weather. It’s one of the reasons I want to save up for lasik. Wearing glasses sucks because they fog up and slide off my face, but it also gets into my eyes if I wear contacts.
antidundruff shampoo for scalp and BHA toner for face
I use apple cider vinegar in my arm pits after bathing and before putting on anti-perspirant, when I have “smelly” days. I use it for a couple of days and then I am good for a few days.
I’m going to try the benzoyl peroxide. Thanks Dr Dray
Thank you! Going to try all three of the products listed in the info. Knowing I'm not the only one experiencing these issues, I don't feel like a freak. Much appreciated.
Thanks for discussing the mental health aspect ❤
Menopause causes some very smelly sweat. I bathe 2x a day. Morning showers are crucial.
Me too! So hard to keep my arm pits smelly free. Menopause is the worst!
It’s horrible. And the constant hot flashes don’t help at all…….
Showering twice a day is not good for your hair, skin, and nails so y’all are definitely in a predicament 😅
After my partial hysterectomy, I stopped smelling under my arms and down below. I still sweat (on the top of my chest which is really bizarre!), but it doesn't have that BO smell like after a workout. And I'm post menopausal. Our bodies are so weird!! Lol
Yes it does 😩 I also bathe twice a day. I’m so embarrassed at work, I feel embarrassed when I have to go around the patients.
Would you mind sharing the AHA deodorant you use now? My body doesn’t do well with antiperspirant at all.
I’m not racist either but curry really has a terrible odor on people and while cooking..
But I LOVE❤ the spices in a good curry, and it always smells pleasant and healthy to me 😃
BENZOYL PEROXIDE PSA:
If you have hair under your arms, benzoyl peroxide will soak up inside the hair, and then particularly when you sweat to any minor degree, it will come out and bleach whatever touches there (shirts, bedding, etc.).
I didn’t think this was talked about but the bellybutton can collect all kinds of smelly things so witch hazel and a q-tip are helpful 😅
Thanks, Dr Dray! I appreciate your matter-of-fact delivery without the fluff. Cheers, Jimmy from Australia.
Thank you. This explains staining in clothing especially when trying natural deodorants.
Glad it was helpful!
one time I was eating roasted Brussels sprouts like crazy and it made my armpits smell like a bag of hot onions. had to give up the Brussels sprouts
Happy Friday Dr.Dray.
It would be great to have a video for athletes. How to manage morning skin care routine before long run, skin and hair care after swimming? Best skin care with 2 or more showers a day?
Dr Dray has videos on before and after workout skincare and videos on swimming/pool including, 7 ways to hydrate your skin this summer and summer skincare hacks you need to try.
Wow! I have never heard of that last reason.-Thank you, Dr Dray for another informative video. ❤
Is there anything you can use to control hyper-hydrosis of the face? Thank you so very much!
Do you have any opinions on Lumé or Mando for body odor? It’s very expensive. Love your channel❤️🙏
I want to thank Dr.Auchi on UA-cam for helping me with his herbal medicine and herb soap 🧼 that cure my Body Odor permanently,I have been living with Body Odor for the past 7 years now, I was so happy when I find out Dr.Auchi on UA-cam Blogs, you are real a great herbalist doctor..🎉
Can benzoyl peroxide wash be used on the groin area?
Can you please do a video on New products for sensitive skin like Rosacea? Always enjoy watching your videos
Dr Dray did a sensitive/rosacea skincare video about eight months ago, if that would help. Dr. Jenny Liu and Dr. Sam Ellis have some recent ones as well.
@@db-gb5xi thank you so much!!
I love wearing wool Sox. They keep my feet so dry and no odor.
Happy Friday Dr Dray so excited to be here I live for this ❤️
Morning!

Dr. Dray is so awesome!! 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
I sweat a lot in my groin area. I use antiperspirant deodorant... I'm willing to upgrade to better things
I started using the Panoxyl as a body was trick she mentions (not directly on the sensitive parts!) on the creases where the inner leg and crotch meet which is where I sweat and it has helped take away odor from the sweat.
@@Redeemed-10That’s good to know! I also find spray deodorant works better than stick
do fish oil supplements contribute to body odor
I think they do. When I was taking them I noticed a fishy smell when I was flossing my teeth. I stopped taking them and the odor went away.
Sometime ago, I read that some people don't stink, at least not in the underarm area, due to their genetics. They also tend to have dry earwax. I thought that was interesting.
Our family has a genetic thing that keeps our feet from stinking. Pretty cool!
@@norniea Seriously?? That IS really cool! Wish I won that genetic jackpot too! 😄 You are very luck!
Our fam isn’t prone to smelly pits. It takes days where others take hours to produce their ripe smell. They’re Asian (far east). Heard that’s more common there. Same with the earwax.
my best friend has never had to use deodorant and she is now 75 years old. She is Japanese, I'm not sure about the rest of her family.
It's true, I am one of those people. I have never had body odor. My husband gets so jealous because he has body odor if he doesn't wear deodorant and I don't even have to wear it. Lol
I stopped breast feeding and when I sweat smells terrible between my Breasts not my arms 😢Anything I can do?

I really appreciate the use of chlorophy and herbs supplements for Tmau/Body odor & Armpit sweat smell from DR.UWENBOHERBALHOME youtube page..❤❤❤
Not wasinging scalp hair can cause it too. Does the same issue develop on the scalp hair as the armpit hair?
I have 2 clients who have this. I feel so bad for the.
Trimethylaminuria (TMAU) is an uncommon condition that causes an unpleasant, fishy smell. It's also called "fish odour syndrome". Sometimes it's caused by faulty genes that a person inherits from their parents, but this isn't always the case. There's currently no cure, but there are things that can help.
Thank you for an interesting video. Do you have any info on why someone would sweat on their face? No oder, but excessive sweat. Thanks.
FriYay dr. DRAYYY❤
Happy Friday
You frequently mention ingredients in products that can be potential allergens. I've don't recall hearing you mention an issue with benzoyl peroxide. As someone with a severe benzoyl peroxide allergy (itching, swelling of face, eyes swelling almost shut, blisters on whites of eyes), I'm wondering how common it is.
I am allergic to benzoyl peroxide
After showering, I have a sticky film under my arms from deodorant. I cleanse the area with Castile soap, and an African net or exfoliating cloth. Then follow with regular body cleansing. Once I dry off, the stickiness waves “hello”. UGH!!!
This reminded me of the recent TikTok BBL smell that is going viral 🤭
Does kidney failure cause body odor? I was recently diagnosed with ESRD, and it seemed like no matter how often i bathed, i had an odor. I don't believe anybody else smelt it, so it could have been thsat last condition you explained. I'm not sure, though.
Kidney failure makes people stink to high heavens
I got Miradry 3 months ago and it changed my life. After battling armpit odor my whole life and so self conscious about it . I invested the money in the procedure and I can now wear sleeveless cloths
do you find the sweat just moving to excessive groin sweating etc? also how painful was it x

Are these effective for "old people smell"?
I have that 😂😂😂
I read persimmon soap works for that.
@@kellyrudd1920 Yes, i had heard of that was just curious if chlorhexidine could also serve the same purpose. Thank you
Wowsers. Ima jump in shower now😂😅
Who else finds the odor of LUME offensive ( I am talking about the unscented one)?
They all stink!😂I have a little bit left and I just couldn't use it anymore because of the smell.
When they first came out I tried the unscented lotion deodorant and it smelled terrible!! Even the newest ones smell bad?
I have soo many natural deodorants none of them worked. They are unscented but not fragrance free. They make you smelled worse when you sweat. See they do not block sweat and that's the real problem
Great video!!! The last one was surprising.
Excellent info, Dr. Dray.
I just know that in China we don't have underarm odor. Maybe is the generic different. But sometimes do see one or two people have it. Maybe 1 or 2% of the population
But the breath of the Chinese population has odor.
I think it's natural to have some underarm smell as the body gets rid of toxins from there, I would have to put my nose way into my armpits to smell anything
Happy Friday, Dr. Dray . Happy First Day of Summer ❤❤❤
Same to you!
Yesterday was the first day of Summer.
Actually, my husband and I were both taught the 21st is the first day of summer. We are 80 and 82.
@@dianeparks9475 Not this year. A whole reason why. They say it hasn’t been this early since George Washington. 😉
I just got the ordinary glycolic acid to use under my arms. I’m wondering if panoxyl in the shower then that would be too much?
Pretty much no derm recommmends glycolic under the arms including Dr Dray.
clothes also make a big difference. Try to wear natural fabrics before using all those chemicals on your body. they are naturally antibacteriologic.
And, natural fibers breathe, allowing for moisture to not build up or heat, linen is very good at moisture wicking and dries quickly
Such great information Dr Dray! ❤

Do you have suggestions for excessive facial and scalp sweating? Thats my only sweat problems.
Dr Dray has videos on those.
Me too. I'm the Queen of the headbands since they stop the sweat from dripping off my nose.
me too
Sameeeeeee
See her video, how to stop excessive sweating. She covers face and scalp amongst others in that one.
Thsnk u doctor
It is like u just saw which video I was searching for
Thank you Dr.
Not this coming out the day that I was stinking the most haha
I wish you responded more to comments, especially when you get new comments on some older videos
Good morning Dr Dray ❤
Morning!
I only get odor when I'm in a nervous situation 😢
Can a Wood's lamp be used to check skin anywhere on body?
Hi Dr Dray, what about benzene and benzoyl peroxide products?
Pure Tea tree oil a few drops mixed in with the shampoo he’s using.
May be seborrhoeic dermatitis
get a new dermatologist
I use apple cider vinegar (ACV) on my hair to pull off all the build up from shampoo and conditioners. You don’t need a lot to rub into to the scalp. I do it once a month. He may need a few more than that. If you do try it make sure he holds his head back so it doesn’t get in his eyes. My hair feels amazing and clean afterwards. ACV also helps with smelly feet and other body parts. I hope it helps someone.
@@amberatartimec2564 Yes, it could be - he could try using Nizoral shampoo if he has flaking and/or inflammation. It's OTC and easy to find.
I tried to use the Panoxl and it burns me.
Thank you for the laugh Dr Dray, I just saw your heading Why u stink lol I needed a laugh even though it’s a serious topic x
Does salicylic acid help with body odor?
Sometimes it's not the bacteria, sometimes it's your personality..
p. s. Not talking about dr. Dray
I think it takes a lot for me to be grossed out by body odor because sometimes it’s closer to being the best thing I ever smelled them the worst
A lot of people smell really ripe, like salami left to long out in the sun. I don't think they really care how much they offend others.
Thoughts on Miradry procedure? I haven’t heard alot of derms discuss this treatment
If people are always touching their nose, like something smells, are making comments and things like that then it’s not in your mind
I live in a semi arid climate with winters that last 8 months
I rarely sweat and I never use deodorant.
Great information. Thanks for sharing.
Would hypochlorous acid spray help with pitted keratolysis?
Baking soda is good at drying damp shoes
what about when you have psoriasis, Is there something that won't irritate, especially on the scalp and behind the ears?
Could be no running water possibly!
Happy weekend Dr Dray….see you tomorrow x🤩💙
Comes from foods as well.... beef and eggs are common source of B.O.

I dont like having grey roots though find this very dispiriting but would have to he a patch test before colouring again.
