thanks for watching!
Great video, Dr. Dray! I have been using PanOxyl ever since you mentioned it in a previous video, and it's fantastic. I rarely even need to use anti-perspirant anymore, maybe once a week the Almay fragrance-free one. I avoid wearing polyester tops as they make my sweat reek. Thank you very much for all the helpful videos. You really have improved my life from head to toe! Hugs - Sam
I epilate under my arms- I can personally attest to the difference it makes in knocking out odor. It’s a game changer. I can always tell when it’s time to epilate when things aren’t smelling as fresh as they could. 😂 (aside from seeing the hair!)
I started using the benzoyl peroxide after I watch a video of yours like a year ago. Game changer!
"You wild, wild, person, you." 😂🥦
Thank you for this video -I have problems with using deodorant (skin keeps getting irritated) so have given up on using it.
I understand it's ok I'm 0 as well stigma gas coming and going to look and feel better. I understand it's hard to be Calvin Celine 💪
I have been following your trick for the past year using like a 20% aluminum salt antiperspirant solution maybe twice a week and antimicrobial soap ( I use chlorhexidine ) in the shower. Its a HUGE game changer in my life. I dont need to use stick deodorant/antiperspirant ever since.
Also, not using stick antiperspirant saved my clothes from the hard to wash residue it can leaves over time. Im very grateful for that 😂
ssomeone with an idea, thats good. So there are alo other ingredient which a turning a soap antibacterial? In my drugstore theres only soap with sodium laurath sulfate, lactic acid....not antibacterial???! But its labeld as antibacterial. I mean SLS gets the job done i would say but... maybe would be good to acual have something antibcaterial for under the armpits. If i use SLS for wash and a deo with alumnium i can also be good with only using it 2x a week.
Great info Dr. Dray! I have hyperhidrosis so this information is very useful!!!Thank you!!!
Happy Thursday Dr Dray so excited to be here i live for this ❤️
Happy Thursday!

For some reason I'm not able to use regular antiperspirant deodorants because they make my underarms itchy, whether they're scented or unscented. It's been very frustrating. The one thing that has worked very well for me is washing with the PanOxyl wash. THANK YOU, DR DRAY! I leave it on for a few minutes, as you recommend, rinse well, and then I apply an unscented moisturizer as a last step. I've never experienced any dryness or irritation. I'm so grateful!! I really think the moisturizer helps!
Thank you for sharing! I have suddenly become strangely allergic to anti- perspirants and deodorants. I have the same problem of all this leaving my underarms itchy. I have to try Panoxyl.
Whenever my grandson’s eat garlic their whole body reeks, it’s like it comes out of their pores. That’s a pretty top you have on. Great video! TFS!❤️
Very informative! I've been using glycolic acid for a few years, it's been a game changer. I haven't had any side effects, but point taken. I'll try some of these alternatives.
I’ve been using crystal rock deodorant for 20 years now. It is absolutely amazing. It literally lasts 24 hours. No white marks, all natural and it’s effective. On occasion I will use Panoxyl soap in my morning shower and it works great
Just remember it is essentially pure aluminum. So if you want to avoid aluminum (even though it's fear mongering) the salt ain't it.
PanOxyl has absolutely changed things for me!! For some reason my left armpit is worse than the right 😂🤔 I am currently using the bar form of it and I use it daily. No irritation at all - which is surprising considering I have very sensitive skin. Then I use a Mitchum deodorant. I can’t remember the last time I smelled! And if I do, it on the shirt itself (yes, clean shirt - that funk is hard to remove from clothes 😑). Thank you Dr Dray! Otherwise I’d still be suffering and going through numerous deodorants.
Great topic and teaching. I do use a non-aluminum LUME cream deodorant for personal preference and which is very aesthetically pleasing (and really works in the nether regions). However, I need to wash with a 10% Benzoil peroxide containing soap (the generic brand on The Amazonian is $5 bucks). Hint: leave on as you shower other areas for several minutes AND rinse it off as it will bleach your towels.
It WORKS! I do find some irritation with Certain Dry but like you I only apply it once a week and the irritation is only with the 1st day or 2 and I NEVER apply it on a day I'm shaving. Thankfully, I rarely have to shave my armpits since I had laser hair removal a decade ago. Unfortunately, hair removal didn't do squat for my under arm odor or sweat production. The initial irritation with Certain Dry is worth it for how well it works. It's GAME CHANGING!
Good morning Dr Dray ❤
Morning!
I love certain dri! Recommend for anyone who gets really sweaty armpits 😱
Happy Thursday, Dr. Dray❤❤
I've been using Almay for YEARS. Does the job, even exercising, and long lasting. My fiance borrowed it and didn't like the liquid feeling on his armpit hairs, but I shave my underarms so it dries down fine for me and doesn't dry the skin.
This is incredibly interesting and I will try the Benzoyl Peroxide stuff. Sounds great. I also use the Crystal stick which completely knocks out odor, but doesn't control sweat. But I am really allergic to normal antiperspirants.
Happy Thursday Dr Dray…see you tomorrow x💙🤩
Last summer, I started using a quick swab of rubbing alcohol under the arm. It does have a lot of stinging, but it’s been fairly helpful for me personally
A topical strategy that is very effective for me is using baby diaper rash cream with zinc (I use Sudo cream). Truly a gamechanger and very safe and gentle to use!
I stay away from the LUME isle, but thank-you Dr. Dray😊
Recently, there was a minor hoo-hah in Singapore when a tiktoker complained about people not showering in the mornings which caused morning commutes to smell unpleasant
Actually, to me it's more of people needing do something with their sewage mouths/breaths😅😂. Freaking every day, I have to wear a 4ply mask in trains/buses just because I need to minimize that stench. 8 out of 10 people have bad breaths. After living in Singapore for the last 2 years, I realize people do not drink much water. They drink tons of coffee or simply do not drink water. I drink at least 64 oz of water (have a 32oz water bottle with me) every day in the office. I would say the rest of my coworkers, they couldn't even finish a cup of 6oz water at work. Every time they come over to talk to me or my neighbor, gosh! It smells like a rubbish dump in my corner.
It's the same in the trains, as long as one opens his or her mouth to yawn/breathe or talk, if they do not wear masks, that stench....a huge gigantic rat died and is rotting in their mouths.
I really wish I could just I could have a mask that could block 100% of smell or i could shut down my sense of smell during commute. I used N95 before, it's hot n stuffy n I could still smell the sewage smell.
Greetings Dr Dray hope u r well n Yesss this Vid is Gonna b Extremely Helpful🔥n Happy Thursday😀n Thanks👍n what a Pretty Dress👗….
Morning!
I'm a guy and I use benzoyl peroxide and trim/shave 🪒 my armpits 😅
Dr Dray, your shirt is so cute! Where can I buy one?
Using Lume….ZERO odor…anywhere. I am a convert.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
PS Doesn’t it stop the growth of bacteria, hence the odor as well? Will check out that video.
You look gorgeous in that shirt!!!! I love it!
I've been using Differin benzoyl peroxide cleanser under my arms since covid and have not used deodorant since. No odor whatsoever, even after 4 and a half miles on the treadmill everyday.
Do you use the 5% or 10%? :)
Summer will be here before we know it and I, for one, appreciate these tips. Thanks, Dr Dray, for helping us to not stink! 😂 Happy Thursday!! I hope you have a cozy evening. ❤
Great video! Your top is super cute!
i saw a personal hygiene poster in a workplace bathroom 😅 not something i expected but first point was to use the appropriate antiperspirant and feels like it needed this video to explain what is appropriate and how body odour forms
Omg lol someone must really smell at your workplace lol I’m happy someone put up a sign… I used to go to a gym where people would start gagging because a particular person would never wear deodorant and the smell was simply too strong and the owner refused to do/say anything…
Fantastic educational video! Thank you
Yup that! The funk!😮😂😂😂😂😂 Greetings Dr.Dray❤
Would you be able to do a video on how to minimise facial sweat?
YOU ARE such a life saver
That funk, love it😂.... My daughter has the worst funk. Not sure why, she doesn't play sports and no medication. She has to use deodorant for sensitive skin.
I drink 2 tablespoons of chlorophyll & mint daily and it illuminated any smell it’s amazing!
How is it possible to illuminate a smell????? 😅

Can you please share the chlorophyll you use?
@@Dontshootthemessenger777 I think she meant “eliminated” lol
happy Thursday everyone !
Started using Dettol antibacterial soap 🧼 Hopefully I don’t become sensitized to it. The smell is very nostalgic for me, and keeps me very fresh 🌿
Ha! Her intro hit home. Get that funk outta here 😂
👍😂
Educational! I love you for your insightful videos. You rock! Stay wild everyone 🥦! 😏
My niece used Lume for 6 months. Then she said that it turned on her, she told me that her underarms smelled so bad, that she went back to antiperspirant!!
Not sure if this is available in the US (I'm Canadian) but Arm & Hammer has an unscented aluminum-based antiperspirant stick. It's generally in the men's section, but I don't care because it's unscented and it's a much bigger product size than the "delicate" women's products.
I just saw this last night at the store. Thank you - will try this out! 😊 oh and I’m in the U.S.
Happy Thursday Everyone‼️🤗 Question: what about bad foot odor. Have had funky foot odor my ENTIRE six plus decades. I rub scented cream on the insides of my shoes so that when I take my shoes off others who may be in the room don’t comment negatively on the stench. Please🌻do a bad foot odor video. My mother always told us to apply pit spray on at night. I have to change deodorants frequently. Eventually - they stop working for me. Love you & I love the channel. Make the rest of your day a good one everyone. ☮️ out from Pleak Texas.

@@DrDrayzdayThanks🌻Again.
Anecdotal, I know, but -- after I switched to a deodorant-only (not antiperspirant) product, I swear I sweat /less/. Also, so long as I'm using the right thing, it takes a LOT (like, bopping around outside for hours in high-heat/high-humidity weather while wearing a polyester crepe blouse -- not making THAT mistake again) to get smelly. I tried numerous "all-natural" brands -- I smelled (and sometimes got a rash from an overly-baking-soda-heavy formula). I tried the magnesium-based ones -- I smelled. I tried the "probiotic" ones -- I smelled.
What DOES seem to work is Arm & Hammer Essentials Deodorant, which contains antimicrobial *Octenidine Hydrochloride*. I don't know if it's built into the formula just to keep the product itself from developing microbial growth, but it works like a damn charm on skin. (Baxter of California's deo may or may not have Octenidine HCl -- it used to at least, because the first stick worked great for me, but subsequent sticks less so, and the ingredients lists on the website and the actual product package disagreed about its inclusion. But that's the only other product I've seen using it.)
And yes, removing hair def does help! Mine's mostly gone now, via a home IPL machine.
I've used the Vichy roll-on antiperspirant for sensitive skin and fragrance free for a while now, but I am having trouble finding it in the US and it's quite expensive when I do. Do you have any thoughts on this one?
The Crystal 'salt' deodorants found at stores like Spouts and Whole foods (or Amazon) Work VERY well Right after a shower, use while skin is wet. This checks bacteria like nothing Ive ever used! It WORKS!
Which specifically do you use? I used one years ago that didn't do a thing for me 😢
No, they don't, lol!
Dr Dray hasn't tended to be a fan of those (see her video, the problem with natural deodorant). But people do vary in what works for them.
I love you! Thank you.
It's true, I used The Ordinary glycolic acid for my UA with the hopes of lightening it, but it irritated my UA, caused pimple like bumps and it did not lighten it. So I stopped.
Why does stress really make it potent? Like when I think my child might kick me in the face when I’m trying to dress him, or other stressful times. Stress sweat.
This!! My stress sweat smells totally different than regular swear
I have not the same experience with deodorant. My skin will not allow me to use antiperspirants, unless I want a rash, intense itching and eventually sweating.
I use a deodorant. The antibacterial compounds in it works for me. It has a v light scent and I will smell bad in a short time without it, with my cheap deodorant I get 48 hours. Some deodorants do not help, but some do.
(I don't use surgical type cleansers, but I will talk to my pharmacist as I have rosacia)
does antiperspirent increase risk for cancer due to aluminium salts contained
no
that's a topic of permanent debate, however there is no scientific evidence in this regard
I personally use the noxzema thr unscented/fragrance free/0% aroma antiperspirant 😊❤.
When u said cabbage garlic onion and cauliflower my eastern european self just died, thats like my daily foods 😅😭
Wash your armpits thoroughly once a week and keep the hairs trimmed. It really is that simple. Wash with soap. Rinse and repeat three times.
Once a week??? You mean once a day
Have a great Thursday, Dr. Dray 💕💕💕🪻🌸🌹🌺🌻🌷🌼🪷
You too!!
Hi Dr Dray! What about "stress sweat" like that awful intense smell.. does that go in the same category as hormonal changes?
Yesssss when I stress it is so much stronger! Help Dr. Drayyy❤❤❤❤!
I might check Dr Dray's video, how to stop excessive sweating. She goes over hyperhidrosis.
@ Thank you!
Can you do a video of how you know when to up the retinol percentage?
ua-cam.com/video/H0SRvVmMFvQ/v-deo.html
@DrDrayzday thank you
Is it okay to wash with a cleanser in the morning or just use water to rinse?
Thank you Dr Dray, yes classic HRT makes my breats smell like a milk cow when I exercice... it is really upsetting, I will try an aluminum stick there too....
8:19 is this the same as their anti-eczema product?
Should I put on body lotion (with retinol or lactic acid) before or after a deodorant or an antiperspirant?
Nice blouse 🙂
Do people just only use white towels if using benzoyl peroxide?
Thank you!!
Can you talk about how antiperspirant might cause cysts under the pits and how to address that?
Dr Dray has videos on cysts and she does have a video on hidradenitis suppurativa, that might help.
Baking soda based paste Changes the ph level and no matter how much sweat...no odor...
different areas of my body have different bad odours, is this down to the different bacteria present? benzoyl peroxide tends to work on them all though
why would i want to stop smelling my armpits
In coastal areas of india doesn't matter how clean and use parfume in your armpit in summer, you get always smell from it, really currently day by day Indian summer Will beat African summer in future. I born in coastal area of India and every year I feel it's new summer that's more dangerous than old one and due to summer my armpit is much much darker and rough than my actual skin 😂
there is no Benzoid Peroxide here😢
It's like my phone can smell me.
I’m a breast cancer survivor on hormone blockers. My underarm where my lymph nodes were removed reacts with my deodorant now. I am getting bright yellow marks on light shirts and bras. Any advice for this? I am sensitive and get rashes with some deodorants.
I am not a doctor! But 1) hooray for your effective treatment! and 2) those yellow stains on clothes are, I believe, caused by the active ingredient (aluminum chlorohydrate and similar) in antiperspirant. You might want to try a NON-antiperspirant deodorant-only product instead? I got nasty rashes from a couple of high-strength antiperspirants, and I can also get irritation from deo-only products that have a non-skin-friendly pH (usually from too much baking soda in the mix, I suspect). I live in a hot humid climate, and was VERY nervous about eliminating antiperspirants -- but I swear I seem to sweat less under my arms after switching to deo-only. As someone who reaaaaaally enjoys "fancy" products with nice scents, I tried a ton of niche deo brands, but all either gave me a rash, didn't work, or both. But very un-fancy Arm & Hammer Essentials Unscented Deo (non-antiperspirant / aluminum-free) is what I kept coming back to. No stink, no irritation, no white residue, no yellow stains.
@ thank you so much!! I’m going to try the Arm & Hammer. I’ve tried so many things as well. I love all of the pretty scents, but I get a terrible rash. I don’t sweat much, but I do get stinky so your recommendation may be just what I need…plus it won’t break the bank! Have a great day!!😊
@ Ha, I feel you! I WANT the fancy! Oars & Alps, Magnasol, Ursa Major, Lume, Native, lawd knows how many others -- didn't work for me. Do note that I've heard switching from antiperspirant to deodorant-only products can result in your armpit skin kind of "resetting" itself over the course of a week, which I guess can be weird/unpleasant for some people (skin getting used to no longer having its sweat glands blocked, and maybe expelling a longtime buildup of aluminum salts? idk!). But I didn't get that result, and I am SO glad to be rid of yellow stains and white marks (and stink)! Have a fab day yourself!
@ thanks friend! 😊
Is there a good OTC benzoyl peroxide for those of us in the EU?
The betadine antispetic spray seems to have a brown colour. Wouldn't that be a problem for staining clothes?
You wash with it, not use it as a deodorant.
I shave my underarms almost each day I never have hair on my underarms
Yes I can get a funk to the armpit area but I will be honest my feet never smell. Only time they did have a funk was when I had those sandals with cork soles.
My feet have NEVER, EVER, smelled, either. But my underarms could win awards for severe stank! 😬
Please type the technical term because when i push cc, it shows incorrect spellings.
For me I had to control my stress and eat more veggies and fruits because I was always eating fast food xD lol
I stopped using deodorant years ago and only use a washcloth and soap to scrub my armpits in the shower. Ever since then I almost never get BO. I think it’s the sloughing off the dead skin where bacteria resides that’s working for me.
I use rubbing alcohol, and I don't need it everyday. CHEAP
Sounds good! The odor is caused by bacteria feasting on your sweat, so that would work.
I am in the .001%
It’s a balance, isn’t it ?
Waxing my whole body also helps reduce odor
I use clinical strength deodorant in the summer
Way back in the late 90s, I lived in New Orleans (hiiiiigh heat, hiiiiigh humidity) and was desperate for something better. Tried a "clinical strength" from the drugstore, and also Bliss Spa's since-discontinued Gobi Stick (which likely had a similar high-aluminum formula). Both made my underarms red, sore, ichy, and weepy after a couple weeks of use. Never again. Now I use a deodorant-only product (A&H Essentials, which has an actual antimicrobial ingredient), and I definitely feel like I sweat LESS than I did when using antiperspirants. Also, I now have zero underarm irritation, and zero yellow stains or white deodorant marks on my shirts.
Mine smells lovely
Doesn't all of this depend on each person individually? Its hard to tell someone who has showered and put on antiperspirant not to use it again for a few days when their pits smell a few hours later, like teens! LOL! No way in hell.
If that’s happening they’re not washing off bacteria throughly enough when they shower. They should try the benzoyl peroxide that Dr. Dray recommends here.
Can testify about Certain Dri. It works well!
it is good
And makes you scratch your underarm skin off from the horrendously intense itch! 🙄
@ Sometimes when I get a little too aggressive with the soap and the wash cloth, it does itch after applying the Certain Dri. But that’s why it’s important also to apply it at night and then just go to sleep. But it doesn’t always itch and I only apply it like every 1 to 2 weeks.
Honestly I feel like my underarms do smell, but it’s not a very bad smell
Whoa! What’s that outburst at the beginning about? 😮
I don't eat fruits, vegetables or spices. Can't stand onion or garlic, so don't eat them either. Use benzoyl peroxide soap on underarms and Megababe Sunny Pits (lemon scented) deodorant. No body odor. The down side is I can smell garlic and spices on other people and it grosses me out. Pacifica Coconut deodorant is also good, as is Vanicream aluminum-free and all the Cheirosa Rio de Janeiro deodorants. I know you all love aluminum, but I just can't ever go back because I now have no odor and no underarm rash.
I would tend to stay away from "aluminum". Sometimes in the summer,...At the risk of smelling like a salad, I find washing and a little rub of Apple cider VINEGAR under the arms (plus a light spray of cologne on the body) a good start.
I shake a little salt in my hands, add a few drops of water and rub my hands together a bit, then on my pits.
Some days I have to do it more than once, so not great if you're going to be gone all day.
Another thing that works great is fresh lemon juice. Idk about bottled, I've never tried it
You ingest more aluminum every day from food than is deposited in your sweat glands from antiperspirant.
Oh great,i eat broccoli and cauliflower all the time!
What about the most popular home made receipe on Internet ? baking soda+corn starch+coco oil+perfum ?
Dr Dray doesn't encourage use of DIY products.
