    Jue Ming and his family's situation really breaks my heart and I'm so impressed by how brave, considerate, positive and loving Jue Ming is. It is a testament to how he was brought up and I love his spirit. His dad's make-shift air-con is inspiring! What resilience, what creativity!

    How weird our medical policies are...it actually encourages you Not to Work so you can the subsidies....if you work you don't get it and the results are you pay way more than you can afford..so end up it make sense Not to Work....hope the government can look into it

      So true. Without subsidies, even typical higher income earners will find it tough to handle such steep medical costs in the long run, let alone low or middle income families that are already struggling and pushed to their limits.

      The HARM done by the va###ci#######ci*****ne is incalculable. Watch out for more increases in taxes & other charges adding to the increased cost of living. Ask yourselves, what has the so-called oppo esp the wayang MPs done? Nothing, if not WORSEN the problems.

      Just like if your income exceeds certain amount then you can't BTO leaving you with no options of subsidized housing. If you work you're penalized, if you don't work you can't survive in this most expensive city, truly weird policies.

      Yea, they really shouldn't be getting subsidies for the super-expensive Hemlibra since there is a alternative medication that is much cheaper. Of course, having to take an injection every 2 or 3 days compared to once a month is a big annoyance. But it is not worth the cost to the Government. At 300k annually, that is 15 million SGD over 50 years that the Government would have to pay

    Being a CURRENT patient, my advice to Dominic is this: prior to injection please wash your hands b4 wiping with alcohol @ location of injection; prepare 1/2 ball of cotton ball & the plaster. After administration of the medicine, immediately cover injection site with the cotton ball, press the cotton ball for a minute or so & then put the plaster on. Get plenty of sunshine but not over exposure as too much exposure would cause skin cancer. Best wishes..............same applies to all other patient requiring similar treatment. I'd just like to remind readers that I had during a dialogue session with then MOH Minister Khaw Boon Wan in late Jan 2008, that Govt should spend more on welfare from returns from our reserves.

FTX of US$275 million (PLUS the paper losses on StanChart; Bayer etc).........all these losses could have prevented govt from increasing GST & a slew of other charges leading to rise in cost of living (& of course HEALTH expenditure due to the harmful effects of the mandated v.....###....ci*****ne, which has proven INEFFECTIVE in the transmission & spread of the vi****r######us. Aside from the initial R&D costs, the cost of these drugs are extremely low. It's the greed of big pharmas in charging exorbitant prices that causes many to struggle to afford them sadly.

    No wonder. Hemlibra is a "mab" type medication. I'm also on a "mab" type medication but a bit less costly than hemlibra.
    I have no subsidies so I pay the full price. I can say it is painful at the least to pay for the meds. While my peers are buying big tickets items and going on fancy trips I have to scrimp and save to even afford the meds. I can only hope the cost of the meds fall once the patent runs out

    These children have good fortitude in overcoming the difficulties brought on by their medical issues. I believe with the coming of AI, there will be new gadgets that will be able to help patients inject their medication automatically instead of having to do manual injections throughout the day. Hope that that day comes soon.

    There is a silver lining though. Once we understand that our bodies are never meant to be totally invincible and invulnerable against sickness and disease in life and some even already come into this world with pre existing deformity and sickeness right out of the gate all of us will understand that this is how all of us will go under natural circumstances short of suicides and accidents. Just a matter of whether sooner or later and whether people can accept it thats all.
    We are never meant to survive forever and nor are the things we want to do are important to this world at all as we cant take any of it with us when we die. We are just here to come into contact with those we are fated to meet and either collect a debt from them or repay our debts to other instead thats all. Once this is done everyone is basically waiting for death to descend thats all.

    Singapore has one of the lowest budget for medical care among developed countries. Singapore has probably only 3.5 million citizens. Our tax rate is not low and we have 9% GST. You go figure why our high medical costs are increasing every year and the government solution is to force you to buy more insurance and it’s so difficult and cumbersome to get subsidies for families who really need help.

    • @joeyjoey22
      @joeyjoey22 7 місяців тому +7

      Omg please. Our tax rate is low compared to every developed country. In fact our tax rate is why foreigners are working here. Our health insurance is also super cheap. Do you have any idea what Europe and America pays for health insurance? Singaporeans have no basis for comparison and literally expect the impossible

    i get that chronic conditions can be troublesome, but the way he communicates sorta portrays a sort of passive mindset where parents getting a pay raise is somehow a problem now, and seriously - getting worried about a shuttlecock hitting you even with medication?

    • @cheryl4911
      @cheryl4911 7 місяців тому

      I kind of agree as well. Despite his chronic condition, his family seems to be doing well. Furthermore, if he's so worried about getting hit by shuttlecock, he could've chose a lower impact sport like yoga. As for Jue Ming, he's already old enough to take care of himself now. The father can actually return to work.. & what's the big deal about having air conditioners? Not many homes have the luxury of having aircon as well. The way this is portrayed seemed like they're playing victims & wanting to gain some sympathy from the public.
