MJ gets credit for being the GOAT because he's the player that transformed the game into a worldwide media venture. The world got to see him play and that's who people latched on to and identified with. There was no continuation so if he was fouled during the catch of the alley oop then there is no shot,and further since there was no shot they would only get 1 free throw unless they were in the penalty.

Greatest all around ballplayer All time. The 2 behind him are Bird and Magic. Everyone else lags way behind. Not even close.
Wilt has been, and is my choice for the greatest of all time, period, no question. Nobody touches him, all around, statistically. With his strength, rebounding, shot blocking, and scoring, he was also, my favorite player to watch play the game until Larry Bird came along. Bird was more fun to watch than The Globetrotters, while being as serious as a heart attack.
