Against Olajuwon "He's quicker then me but I'm faster then him"..... ???what??? It's dumbass comments like that that kinda explain why in the most crucial moments, in plyoff & final games, he'd make THE MOST Brain Neutral Plays to LOSE the game for his team or simply come up HELLA Short...... nobody seems to Ever WANT to talk about that FACT

In sports, the word fast often refers to top speed while quick refers to the ability to accelerate at a rapid rate despite this not being the definition of either word. Could you mention a single clutch brain dead moment that Wilt made in the clutch? Look up the endings of the 1960, 1962, 1965 (especially) and the 1968 Wilt vs Russell series and you will see that Wilt made far more plays in the clutch than Bill. The difference between the two was that Russell’s teammates stepped up in the clutch while Chamberlain’s wilted.

When Wilt was asked to name his top 5 of all time he did not hesitate to first mention Larry Bird. Then he hesitated…and mentioned Larry Bird a second time. Then it was Russell’s turn and he mentioned Larry without any thought needed. To have these two late greats both mention Larry in their top 5 tells me all that I need to know about what the past greats think of him.
This interview is a treasure because Wilt would be gone soon after, and now we have lost Bill. I have this saved where I can always easily watch it again. Hearing Bill”s contagious laugh is alone worth it!

11-0 in game 7s 18 PPG and 29 REB averages in those 10 games
Russell won 5 mvps ( 3 straight ) and Celtics missed the playoffs for a couple years straight after Russ retired despite not losing anyone other Sam Jones and he was replaced by HOF jojo white Russell played with four members of the NBA's Top 50 at 50 (Havlicek, Cousy, Sharman, and Sam Jones); Wilt played with six members (Baylor, West, Greer, Cunningham, Arizin, and Thurmond). And Russell's teammates from 1957 to 1969 were selected to twenty-six All-Star games, while Wilt's teammates from 1960 to 1973 were selected to twenty-four. Let's never mention the supporting-cast card again with Russell and Chamberlain. Thank you.
Wilt never was the leading scorer in the finals when he won In fact he was the 5th leading scorer in the 1967 finals 5th LEADING SCORER ON HIS OWN TEAM ALONE, wilts game was never that of a winner bill was the more clutch cerebral player 3 times in the finals he averaged 20+ PPG and another finals series he had 70%FG on near 20 PPG,

Wilt Chamberlain before the knee injury , was the greatest player ever and that included everyone since : Jordan, LeBron, etcetera . Chamberlain even though 7'1" and huge long arms could lick a coin of the top of the backboard . He only needed to jump from his sneaker souls to floor a couple inches to get a dunk or rebound . But the bottom of his feet souls were as high or higher off the ground as the amazing short armed 5'3' Muggsy Bogues dunking . When he scored those 100 points he was taking the ball full court, dribbling between his legs, behind his back and so on . The reason he only won two NBA titles is because his coaches and team owners wanted wilt to be the show to bring in more revenue, no team game . His career spanned from 1959 to 1973 . He won his first NBA ring in 1967 Philadelphia 76rs and his last year of his career with the 1973 LA Lakers
Russell said once we knew Wilt was going to get his 30 or more points but we knew that since we played team ball we would win . And that was the truth . He did play on an LA team that played team ball in the NBA finals and they won and wilt retired after that . fact was after his knee injury his mobility was severely limited . He lifted weights, put on weight and became an impenetrable force under and near the basket . but it was sad to see he could only jump up and down and no more jump forward, backward, or laterally like he did prior to the severe knee injury . Post knee injury around 1970 to end of his career, He had to crouch down bend his knees before he jumped and so many times opponents would take the ball away from him or tie him up. back then orthopaedic physicians were butchers really . they had no idea of reconstructing a torn acl ligament which is one of the things he lost because of his knee injury .

Russell immediately said, "Well, the question you really mean to be asking is: when you're a player in the NBA what is your job? Most people will say to play professional basketball." Russell shook his head. "Our job is to do one thing and one thing only: win championships. That's what an NBA player is paid to do. Win championships. That's it. Now I ask you, who did that better than anyone?" At which point he broke into that famous smile and high pitched cackle.

Jane Doe Barkley’s personality was very similar to Wilt’s. Plus they both played for the sixers and Barkley’s was a ferocious, tenacious player who played bigger than his height and I’m sure wilt respected that.

I think Bird might have the slight edge due to his superior offense.

Reilly J Sullivan I’d put Bird over Russell too, I have Bird at 5th-6th on my all-time best players list and Russell at 7th

@@HugoSoup57 No doubt he was a better winner, just not a better player.
