@@sideburn how you feel. Like tbs slogan real fpv quads are serious toys dji drones are toys for kids. ;) But if you dont like the challenge and so forth no problem :)
Good to see a humble fpv pilot without pretension actually evaluate the flight of the little piggie. Seems like true fpv pilots in America consider the piggie beneath them even as a play thing. I have a feeling that it will indeed finally help me in learning fpv piloting Thouth I am afraid to break it which I'm not with my cheap ass fpv drones, well a couple are cheap. BTW I call it "the piggie" because it kinda looks like one, it's heavy as one and def not as light an nimble as a "real" fpv kwad.I might actually paint it pink LOL.
i believe the best of this video is exactly this. a pilot who might have been threatened to kind of lose audience, sales, etc., to just fully honest review the thing and have fun. Even though he says that he isn't sure about purchasing it, and the full acro is not exactly the same as theirs.
Do you know why many long time FPV freestylers and Racers are NOT choosing this drone ? Simple, I can buy 4 Nazgul's with the HD setup for the same price. And the batteries for those drones are around 30 each, not 160, and give you 5 min of ripping. Even if I was starting from nothing, the RTF bundles from GetFPV on various HD and Analogue drones offer not only a real fpv experience (and before you ask, yes there are learner flight modes with stabilization) but they offer better value in drones that are more robust....also drones that won't cost you 200.00 if you break an arm, more like 10.00. The DJI FPV is a fairly simple product designed to prey on low information consumers and DJI whale consumers. Get educated, buy something better.
@@riggermortisfpv526 you missed the plot. Everyone’s gotta start somewhere and many have the money to start with a DJI. It’s all good, we’re all enjoying flying and some have a greater learning curve. The DJI is great for them. They can Mr. Steele it later.
all the "real fpv" pilots seem to be quietly simmering in there seets lol nice to see the dji fpv drone being given some honest thoughts, sure its not the same as an actual freestyle quad, but freestyle isnt what it was designed for.
@@riggermortisfpv526 Okay it's a very old comment but for someone just getting into fpv, not everyone wants to do freestyle or race, some just like the fpv shots as in for filming mountains or indoors (Avata) for small ads, so in those sense dji although is still expensive makes alot of sense, traditional fpv is probably better "maybe" but the purpose is solely different
Safe to say he enjoyed the DJI FPV, I've had mine for a week but only came with 2 propellers, being playing lift off sim and actually came first in a acro race last night on the barn one, think I'll go for it when my other props arrive in mail, I eventually want to go to traditional FPV but I'm also doing photography with it so, signal, return to home etc gives me a bit of relief. If the DJI one is prone to break quicker I'll just have to take abit better care and not push my luck.
If you're in a city with heaps of structures and going to have interferences the big one will help alot, I fly traditional and DJI FPV and I always get Waaay better signal with the big guy, and it's bloody fast too, scares me sometimes, alot of people bag it but it's really a great fkn drone, yeah it's not really for super fast freestyle or Drone racing league material but it's fast, great shots, can put a go pro mount on it, also the V2 goggles are amazing, everytime I put my analogs back on it's torturing. Sometimes paying abit more for digital is worth it, heck you only have to get a drone with Caddx Vista or the DJI Air unit and a black FPV remote and you're good to go, a lot of people that were born after the VHS years can't actually handle looking at that and gives them motion sickness.
I've thought bout it too.. Bout losing the drone with the go pro on it, and dji although expensive just kind of have this sense of relief that it will come back to you. I plan to do mountain shots and indoor flying (Avata) only, no freestyle.
Trust me ive seen hunreds of these people getting into fpv and buying dji fpv thinking it has everything you want. It breaks really and I mean really easy one crash is enough to take out an arm or anything. Mentioning return to home any traditional fpv quad can have it you just have to add a 20$ gps which most long range quads come with. Also having a better osd is really important in my opinion and just getting shots on gopro is way better then any dji camera
