  • In today's episode we are going to learn how to do some very basic navigation using the HUD, the TAD, the TACAN as well as a DIVERT page on the CDU. The basics of the TAD are also going to be explained. Fun stuff!
Here are the two videos I mentioned in this episode:

Not only are these perfect timing, you're going at exactly the right speed. I've been working through the manual but in the early sections I'm often thinking, "sounds great but what would I use that for?" and in the more tutorial sections there is often missing context about why things are done certain ways.
Here you are combining the how and the why and it is finally making sense. Many thanks!

What manual are you talking about exactly?
I read the DCS own manual on the A-10A (AKA flaming cliffs) but surely didn't explain as ralfie in any way, not to say it's bad.. actually it's so good but to clear my point here's an example: they never gone thoroughly with the TVM/MAD in this such detail!
I'm eager to get boringly deep into 1000 paper manuals but can't find any °~°
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

@@mohamedabdalnaem9776 Yes there is a manual that comes with the DCS A-10C II. It's very good, but Ralfi puts everything into context very usefully.

I started DCS a few days ago while not knowing ANYTHING about planes. I wanted to buy my first full fidelity module but could not decide which one ... I started looking for videos about every plane and I ended up watching your first tutorial about the A-10.
Man, it was so clearly explained I instanlty bought the module and now I'm slowly but steadily learning this thing. I still didn't fire a single shot/bomb/missile with it but it's a joy to slowly learn more and more about the plane ❤ .
    Thank you very much !

how are you finding it now? I just got the 2 week trial before I commit to a first full fidelity plane (I have FC3 but haven't really tried anything out beyond quick free fly sessions), and am trying to map my (not A-10) HOTAS that doesn't have enough hats lol, some functions don't seem to work if I'm using modifier + hat too.

Got my Warthog Hotas yesterday and these videos make it much easier to learn the A10. These tutorials are by far the best ones you can find if you want to learn the A10 functions. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. I really appreciate it. Greetings from Germany 👋😊

Thank you, thank you and thank you again. I was at the point of giving up with DCS after I bought the first A10 training campaign only to find out that it didn't actually train you, it just tested you.
These videos are brilliant, and while I'll need to watch each of them more than once, I can now say that I'm making progress with the A10 in DCS, and I'm sure what I'll learn here will also help with the other aircraft modules.
You've turned what I thought was wasted money into real value for money. Honestly I can't say thank you enough.

What a time to have these tutorials on the A-10C systems. The A-10C ll has my attention now with the new gadgets and your videos are so essential in getting back to this module. Kind of like a refresher course. Tonnes of new stuff learnt on this video that I never knew before so I will be following and keeping watch on your channels. To add to it, the methodology of your tutorial is so smooth and less pacy, easy to understand complex stuff. Thanks a lot for your effort and time.

One thing though: coolie hat down no longer swaps MFDs. I’m sure someone else would have covered this but I believe it has something to do with selecting the head mounted system. I think the slew hat is being used but I'm not sure. Still very helpful though.

assuming your hotas is a TM wartohg, TMS is the hat from the stick and china, the 2 position red lever switch from the right side of the throttle. Yes for moving the cursor of the TAD, or the particular SOI at the moment, is the slew hat. Have a great time learning sir!!
