I absolutely love the idea of an object Pokemon being so terrifying that people shun anything relating to the object it’s based on out of fear. The lore behind Poltchageist really helps solidify the idea that object Pokemon can do some things better than more animalistic ones.
It's based off of Kintsugi, or Kintsukuroi! It's the process of repairing ceramics traditionally with lacquer and gold, leaving a gold seam where the cracks were. It makes the newly repaired object look more refined. I just thought that was so cool! 🤩

But...what could it be. Yo Kai watch introduced me to quite a few of these buggers. Mirapo, Wazzat, Pallysol, Pittapatt are some I can name off the top of my head (mirror, hat, old umbrella and sandal)

In the Japanese version it's "Chotto matcha!" "Chotto matte" means "Wait a minute" so this changes the meaning a lot but it's funny in both languages 😂

It's strange that its name resembles Polteageist when it's actually supposed to be the equivalent of Sinistea. Even in Japanese Sinistea is called Yabacha, Polteageist is called Pottodesu (pot death) and this new Poltchageist is called Chadesu (cha death). Anyway I really love the concept of Poltchageist because It mixes matcha and kintsugi in a fun creative way!
pokemon basically IS a horror: a world full of superpowered monsters that range anywhere from snapping you in half to being smarter than a super computer to flat out ghosts that will steal your soul who are aggressive enough that you can pit them against each other in battle while god is also a monster and the gods of space and time are always trying to kill each other and so are the gods of the land and sea AND some giant birds and also a clone once almost committed genocide. the pokemon world is a nightmare in a child's clothing.
On one hand: the story is creepier if everyone was...unalived, but TPCi just thought it would be bad to say it. On the other hand: we already know what Strength Sap does. It only weakens the target, it doesn't take life.
considering the tea master that "fainted from exhaustion" was not seen again and had his belongings passed to other people, we can assume he died and that was just being censored. and the fact that THATS being censored makes me feel like all the other "falling asleep" is also just kill being censored. after all, you wouldn't casually talk about murder in front of a bunch of little kids, so it makes sense for the in universe narrator to censor it.

Looks like Halloween came early! For real though, love the little Japanese summer festival (matsuri) vibe this whole DLC is going for. I honestly am not a huge fan of Pokémon but this really intrigues me aesthetic wise.

Omg I love this! I have been wishing someone would make a love action or even a cartoon focused solely on different Pokemon and their histories instead of the training aspect. Anything that isn't about the training of Pokemon for battling has always interested me. I love Sinistea and Polteageist and.......I love this little guy too. I love tea in general and the fact we are getting a matcha green tea pokemon is fantastic. Definately gonna catch me one these!

Instantly one of my favourites, it's been a while since I liked a form as much as this :)
Omg I love this! I have been wishing someone would make a love action or even a cartoon focused solely on different Pokemon and their histories instead of the training aspect. Anything that isn't about the training of Pokemon for battling has always interested me. Particularly because I'm a gen 1 OG and find that there are so many new pokemon that each day I seem to find a new one I've never heard of before.
