Can't wait to see some of the new Zomboy tour. I'm gonna steal your idea for an event and tape a GoPro to one of my movers. Where can I get those plastic safety cables. 😁
You are such an inspiration! Living in Sweden, basically all LD- edu is for theatre... But watching you gives me all kinds of hints/inspiration on how to think, even on mydmx 3.0 rigs at work. (Working at a youth club trying to get kids turned on to the whole live aspect of music/stages/FOHsound/LD) Big kudos to you for being an LD who is taking it to YT for all of us to learn from. And making it comprehensible!
Love the way that you stay composed with problems and course corrections. Being able to wake up and welcome course corrections has changed my life for the better. Keep it up. I've hit you up for private sessions. Happy programming\m/ #ALLC
Really love your vlogs. I am learning so much from these vlogs (spec sheets, terminology, inside look). And I really love your attitude! I am an LD situated in the Netherlands running some relatively low key shows (compared to what you do now) - about 4 universes and I am running Obsidian Onyx (Martin M-PC previously) with Art-Net. Looking forward your next vlog! Can't wait!
As usual Christian, another AMAZING video! Love the content in it and everything you do. Always exciting to get a new video notification. Can't wait to see whats next!
Great content. And Another brilliant show coming together as they do with you haha. The way you make videos and just work in general is like second nature. Can't wait to see the rest and catch you on another tour !
Great video Christian🙌🏽 can never go wrong with too many splitters 😌 how did it feel running a show on 3 pin Dmx? What are your thoughts on the whole 5 pin is better than 3 even though it’s still just the same thing and doesn’t really matter? Or does it?
It doesn’t matter at all to me if the entire rig is 3 pin. As long as you’re not using microphone cable and the data cable is within dmx spec who cares what connector it uses.
Hi I'm a CS student, and a small project team and I are currently creating a (software) light controller. May I ask you what you would wish for to change in the usability of the controllers of the current industry giants (GrandMA etc.)? Further; I've seen you use various 3D Scans and models from venues: is there an unofficial norm to these?
Why did you use the term 'Dimmer Beach'? Curious as in the UK the term used is 'Dimmer World', 'Amp World', 'Video World', Power World' etc... I want a beach too on my setups!!!
Save money and space on Artnet nodes by buying the hardware used in carnival rides such as large ferris wheels. They are industrial without screens, mount on DIN rails, configure over the network like configuring routers, and once configured, need no attention. They are hardwire instead of all DMX jacks so a breakout box needs to be made. An 8 channel unit without the screen and configureation issues can be found here: www.sundrax.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/manual-ArtGate.pdf. These are easy to mount in a road case, can be POE powered, support DHCP, merging, have isolated outputs, etc. Ports can be configured as input or output, so you can mix in your favorite console if it does not support Artnet. Some devices can be configured to support E1.31. Put a bunch of these is a decent road case with a panel of the DMX jacks conveniently mounted, or distribute them to dedicated sections of truss and fly them using POE to send signal and power to them. Hint, Network cable and network switches is less expensive than DMX cable and DMX splitters.
8:00 "Chauvet Clamps".....
Love this style of editing BTW, look forward to the next part of this vlog!
Hahaha. Love that he said Chauvet clamps. It's funny cause they're not Chauvet clamps. LOL
8:12 love how he said "hello" to the light

I need the last one 😭
tell me those artnet boxes were not named Gone Wrong
might help having the leading zeros for the address on your stickers! eg 45.001
One thing I've learned from assembling stage/truss is that it's not nearly as stable as it looks lol
Are you gonna be in Toronto tonight?? Zomboy Rott and Roll!!!!
Yep. We aren’t bringing any production though, just using the house rig
MORE 😍

Jonathan Cook There are may ways to say the same thing, in the US we usually say ‘Dimmer Beach’
"The touch screen is f**ked"😂😂😂
What do you mean specifically when you say "the features haven't been pre-patched"? as in they're not wired up to the whole rig yet?
