Paul, I totally agree with your review, I have the same thoughs. I bought version 11 only because of migration from Standard to Advanced (which is more valuable than migration from Standard 9 to Standard 11, to be honest) :)
I have RX 5 Advanced, then still using RX 7 Advanced for my Home podcast post-production. I can get RX 11 for a pretty cheap upgrade price of $239. Is it worth it?
Very cool video, couldn't agree more. Additionally, their way of advertising the new edition of Izotope RX, on the principle of "buy now in a special promotion", when it was not yet known what would be included in it... there is no sense of innovation anymore, only corporate tricks. I wish you a pleasant vacation!
RipX is the “King of Music Rebalance” IMO, it can be used to isolate/extract a whole lot more stems from any kind of audio like RX’s but goes even further by recognizing most sounds in the audio clip. For example, you can have all the drums extracted one by one (kick,snare/clap,hihats,percs etc..) with less artifacts while RX has “all” the drums but stacked in one instance.
I'm still on RX9 because I haven't seen a significant evolution in music rebalance. I want it to operate better on noisy (live) sources.. feels like the machine learning/AI used is due an upgrade. Most demos always use it on very crisp and nicely produced finished album tracks.. rather than something like a live recording of a band
RX is not meant to be used as an insert, it's slow and eats up a lot or processing power, making it unusable in so many post-production environments, the strongest use of iZotope RX is in standalone mode. Clarity VX does a nice job while preserving system resources and providing a nice output but iZotope RX is still the king if you have to really clean-up and have no option and no ADR chances. Automatic de-noising is for low to mid quality jobs requirements, and for fast paced workflows when quality is less important than deadline accuracy. Anyways, thank you for investing your time in this product overview!
Rimangono, comunque, molti problemi nel separare voce chitarra e pianoforte. Ho provato con The Great Gig in the Sky dei Pink Floyd e.... niente, un ammasso di suoni... :-(
I fear that Izotope has lost its edge since the acquisition by Native Instruments. Maybe before that time. Which is very sad, because Izotope was so outstanding for so long. I've had every version of Ozone since v2. I bought RX11. It's OK, it does what the older versions did. But the upgrade from RX10 Advanced to RX11 Advanced was $300!
This is going to become more and more common in the industry, unfortunately. Companies are destroying legendary brands and their products in the pursuit of profits, which of course makes no sense. Just look at what has happened with Pioneer.
Rx11 isn't yet supported by the izotope support system as it only goes up to rx10 still, months after launch (I'm posting this in july 2024). NI bought a dog that looked profitable because its run by a skeleton staff.
Now they've joined the NI family, I fear for iZotope. Most NI stuff has barely improved in a decade and has generally been overtaken. What new stuff they have come out with, Massive X for example, is generally poor competition for everything else out there. Kontakt is just a player for yet another sample library in their Komplete offering, and frankly looks the way it did when I got Kontakt 2 back in the noughties. NI is the graveyard of plugins.
RX is basiaclly a cheap scam I was excisted about music rebalance years ago to isolate vocal microphones from live concerts It works okay, but even Moises outperforms RX way better.
I find it's more the right tool for the job, Rx10/11 has performed great for me in a number of situations, but occasionally it will simply miss the vocal. What's nice about Rx11 though is that you can process an entire script of dialogue and if you run into processing issues, pull your processing back on just those problem areas and try a different approach without sacrificing the entire run. Not saying I wouldn't love a one button solution or just being able to rely the assistant to instantly process everything I need, but I've found all those solutions to often be too heavy handed in their solutions.
Hi Pawel - I work with a number of plugin makers. I had sent you an email and would love to hear from you. I think you'll love our plugins :) Resending my email now. Thanks!
The price for Update RX 10 advanced > RX11 advanced is 439 €. the price for RX 11 if you buy it from scratch is 1299 €. 1299 € !!!! It is to much expensive. Clarity pro is 249 €, Spectral layer is 299 €. Izotope seems to think they have a monopoly on audio restoration, but that's not true. They want to fleece their users, old and new, so don't buy RX 11 or subsequent versions unless they offer real added value.
Bye RX, I think better for them to start a completely new line and put RX to retirement as they can’t improve it without complete re imagination and re creating
All producers now make bad songs, all commercial songs have so much loudness over the normal and hard bass, dull sound, distortion and drums hit so hard. Also I can barely listen high end in many new songs for example Taylor Swift or Billie Eilish.
Okie dokie, guys: what do you think about RX 11? Top or flop? Lemme know down below!

I got the upgrade for $215
The changes in RX are so minor these days that its just not worth the upgrade prices.

Thx!
i havent robbed my local bank yet as i have a cold so i cant afford the update. Paul what do think of Clarity Vx in comparison ?
Clarity VX is the best ai denoising out there, but also the heaviest in terms of cpu. Thus I chose Acon Digital as my main choice in this area!
@@FoliaSound Paul thanks !
Personally I’m done with Izotope. Their prices are abusive.
100%
Done with it too..
Luckily, I use iZ products with some other releases, if you know what I mean. They're turned into Apple now. 😂
Waiting for rx12

Superstone clear runs circles around RX dialogue at 1/10th of the price, add to that Acon, Accentize DX revive….
Thanks Paul! - i am really thinking of not upgrading from 10 to 11 - the only thing would be the Level correction to different standarts....
Good for you for taking time for yourself, you deserve it.
Always rest…your content is first class, and I for one am very grateful to you….
T h a n k s !
Thank you. The upgrade is soooo expensive for a couple of equalising features of other companies.

Well said :) Polished, demo materials, always sounding so shiny and so easy to separate...
Flop! 10 is THE last upgrade ill do....UNLESS they listen to damned near EVERY review I've heard. And the loyalty upgrade is $350?!! COME ON!
Why'd you skip over the new Loudness Optimize module? It's a pretty innovative way to manipulate the LUFS algorithm. Nothing else has it.

So: why did they make it in a separate plugin form? :>
Nice review! Can you compare it to Ripx for sound separation? Thanks 🙏 😊
Agreed
Hi, This is Jeremy in England. Good stuff. By any chance did you ever live in Billericay in Essex. You look like someone I met there. All the best.
ill be staying on RX10 for audio restoration work and contiue to use UVR5 for vocal extraction
I think it is a money maker for them, 10 out then a few months 11, it would not surprise me another will be out by Xmas number 12. Money maker.
Rimangono, comunque, molti problemi nel separare voce chitarra e pianoforte. Ho provato con The Great Gig in the Sky dei Pink Floyd e.... niente, un ammasso di suoni... :-(
already moved to spectral layers
great show keep it up My Friend

I got RX11 for free when I upgraded to 10
Hush Pro would deserve a mention concerning dialog cleanup (as long as you're working in Pro Tools with AAX).
If he had programmed it in a port to format wrapper program... He could have ported it to everything. I missed opportunity.
I don’t think the Dialogue Isolation is nearly as good as Ultimate Vocal Remover 5. UVR5 is free, and has many more features than just vocals!
+1
Can it reduce noise on poor noisy speech recording
very disappointed with my recent purchase of izotope, clarity vx as well as Davinci vocal isolation works better

Looks great but expensive for what it is even if on sale
For the price certainly a flop upgrade cost is extreme

Using demucs models for that price after relying on spleeter for 6+ years
Terribad sfx removal options ..
Yep. Superfluous software..
I barely use it

Well they are industry standard in post production and they have the standard edition for music production. Don’t like it? Don’t buy it.

You didn't mention Ripx. The best there is according to some
overpriced gimmicky plugins. i've seen EDM producers use izotope and they love it.. myself for what i do, i could never use it. i find it gimmicky

I left IZ at RX4 lol and the music industry after 30 years as ME, ain’t not good talent musicians and everything sound the same 😂
