This sounds cool, but it is kind of a pity that you still need to select your default citizens from amongst the existing factions, rather than using the AI's design for those too. Maybe if the game is successful, there could be a DLC that expands AlienGPT's capabilities, somewhere down the road.
We know from this video that at least some of its capabilities will expand with any expansion that adds a new race design at the bare minimum, as they said that they upload a bunch of results from their ai that is trained only on their designs, so new designs means new alien gpt images that can be pulled from. But I agree with the sentiment on the portraits for the pops.

Amazing work, I'm excited to play! I think you're among the first to do something that tons of titles will be doing a few years from now. It's like giving players an infinite species pack DLC. My only caution, as I'm sure you've considered, is that there's no such thing as a free lunch with this technology. You'll save time not having to develop new civs & lore, but you'll need to have spent (and continue to spend) a ton of time on testing and prompt engineering. Your prompts & logic you're feeding to AlienGPT under the hood will need to be pristine to deliver a good and consistent experience, and the only way you'll achieve that is by using AlienGPT a TON in internal testing and devoting a lot of resources to adjusting it and making new options based on user feedback. For example, the two text blurbs for the Sea Slugs starts almost exactly the same way, which feels derivative. Feedback aside, I think you're doing amazing, and I loved the earlier Gal Civs which I played in high school, and I'll definitely pick this game up.
