I've been really enjoying playing this game lately. It feels like it could use some improvements in explaining some of the mechanics and interactions to the player, but it's got heart and the different civs feel distinct
"The Galactiv Civilizations Series has been going on since before I was even born!" That sentence, right at the beginning makes me feel very old, as I was born before the first game of the series was even announced! 💀
I noticed you had the Stella's soundtrack in the background. Now, personally, I consider GC4 superior to Stella's but I was wondering if you did that to highlight the similarities between the two games?
This video would be much more helpful IMO if you weren't talking so fast. Reducing playback speed to 0.75 made it possible to follow what you were clicking on as you were talking about it, but it was still difficult at times, and one really shouldn't have to do that. Overall good source of information, but speed of dialogue was too fast to absorb.
Never heard of this franchise. I used to be well into Sid Meier's Civ until Civ Vi which put me off the genre completely. This game looks good though. I particularly like the faction customisation and the ability to start in the familiar Solar System. Only thing that's putting me off is the amount of text data and small fonts. Can hardly see a thing, let alone read it.
Geeez Man! SLOW the HELL DOWN.The whole point of a video Titled, "The Complete Beginners Guide to Galactic Civilizations 4" is to learn from those good and knowledgeable at the game which you obviously are, Colonel. Kind'a hard to learn anything when you speak so damned fast that it almost seems like all you're trying to do is just get it all done and then move on with little thought taken about how best to communicate with your audience. You're not running a speed run, you're supposed to be teaching those new to the game. Seriously. Slow down and give us a chance to absorb what you are trying to present. This video presents a great deal of very useful information that unfortunately is difficult to take in without constantly pausing which is a major annoyance. It's been many months since I last gave a video a thumbs down but you earned one from me this time Colonel. Slow it down and I'll be glad to change it to a thumbs up and with only 44 likes out of 5500 views in the last 3 weeks another like wouldn't make this vid go viral but it'd give you a solid 2.3% increase in your approval rating. Think about it.
the fact player has no control over combat is a huge no way not buying ever from. comabt is the bet part in these kinds of games and its just auto battle so dumb
Agree to disagree. Combat is extremely boring to me in these games. I’m much more interested in culture, exploration, and economy. Kind of strange that combat would be a deal breaker for you in a 4x game. I think you should be looking more into RTS games if that is so important to you.
The coolest thing about this game is its ship customizer. It would be epic to control ships. Otherwise the game is a worse version of civ 6 but in space.
The background music being from stellaris is quite funny.
Thanks for making me feel old. Galactic civilizations was what I jumped to after years of Star Trek Armada
same lol... I played Gal Civ 1 in college. *sigh*

awesome guide as usual damneders
Excellent job. Well produced.
Is that Stellaris music in the background.
Nice, I'm thinking about giving this a try, good starter guide.
What do you think of the game so far? I've been distantly curious. Reminds me of a more casual Stellaris

Alpha Centauri vibes

No doubt. Dude needs to go easy on the coffee.

What does "hold shift to lock tooltip" mean??
It means if you hold shift, the tooltip will lock in place 😂
How do I enslave aliens

Appreciate the info, but it's so compressed and you go through it so fast it's hard to watch
It’s nice to see you moving away from the Warhammer 3 shitshow.

Best part? Bro go play Homeworld if you want big ship battles

So you don’t like the 4x game type then 😂
i play plenty of 4x games where the play has control over how combat plays out lmao @@royce9018
